    Oh Yahweh, help those who call on Your name through Jesus Christ be found faithful and ready when the Day of the Lord comes. Let Your Holy Spirit guide us through this life, and keep us walking on that narrow path, living righteous here in the earth. Let us not be anxious about anything because we know that this life is temporary. Let us be watchful. The world is in great chaos right now, but none of this is a surprise to You. As we watch Your story unfold, let us be people who are praying for souls of both Jew and Gentile coming to faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. Your kingdom is coming in Your perfect timing. Let Your saints be ready.
    Preparation = do you know Jesus or not? So good! Thats all the preparation we need.

    Aloha, praise the Lord, good morning BR family. We are blessed with another day of learning more about our God. He tells us that earthly things are only temporary and can be taken away in a second. Having faith in God’s treasures is forever. Yesterday’s reading I learned something about new about God and what he meant when he said love thy neighbor. Thank God for another day BR family. He is where the JOY is!!!❤

    So here we are 10 days before the election, and TLC (at the 2:00 mark) brings up the notion of “Doomsday Prep.” (I know she recorded these videos in the summer of ‘22, but here we are on Day 299, and God’s timing of His word and His assurance is never circumstantial). At Lk 12:41, Peter asks (in TLC’s paraphrase) “Is all that Doomsday Prep stuff for everyone or just for us?” Luke 12 tells us five times how not to fear, and why we should trust the Father. The very hairs on our heads are numbered (Lk 12:7); we must not put our wealth-building ahead of our kingdom-building (Lk 12:21); look at the ravens (Lk 12:24-and don’t forget Elijah, right?); look at the gorgeously dressed lilies of the field (Lk 12:27); and finally, “Don’t be afraid, little sheep. God delights in giving you the kingdom!” (Lk 12:32). “OK, that’s great, God, but what about (fill in the blank)?” “Fear not. How many times can I tell you that I AM the God of Hope, not fear?”

    I love how TLC highlighted the fast that Jesus pursued the woman in the synagogue who was plagued by an evil spirit. She was there, He saw her and He called out to her. HE initiated the healing for her. He cared for her and healed her. She just had to acknowledge His healing and she rejoiced and glorified God.
    This impacts me so much because I know that God has been pursuant of me all of my years. He called out to me and He made sure I could hear Him. ❤ He continues to heal me and straighten me. And just like the gardener tends to his fig tree, He was patient with me and gave me time to bear fruit. Hallelujah. Praise the one who set me free!

    “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭31‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    I love this verse for a large variety of reasons, but the main one is that this verse is telling us that all of our needs, and maybe even our goals, will be met once we remember what is truly important that being the kingdom of God, I believe to live like this it takes a little bit of humility and discipline to consistently put the kingdom of God above ourselves, however, we will also reap the rewards in this life and in the next, our God is so loving, compassionate and glorious , praise his name. God bless every single one of you here today.✝️💪

    Thank you TLC and TBR team! My Godshot was definitely Luke 12:29. I seem to be entering a tough season right now, unsure about these very things, how my family will eat or drink, and I have felt crushed by those worries the past few days. Then as I was reading today's verses(honestly feeling like I was just going through the motions), this verse almost seemed to light up when my eyes hit it. I know the verse well, but it gave me such a peaceful feeling at that moment. I constantly need a reminder that I do NOT have to be anxious about these things because God is a faithful and good provider. As an amazing friend and pastor once told me "God hasn't let me starve yet". Amen! He is where the joy is! God bless y'all 🙏

    My God shot today is in the parable of the fig tree. The Gardner cares for the tree for three years without fruit and convinces the owner to give it 1 more year before cutting it down. Jesus’ ministry was three years before his mission was fulfilled at the cross. I’ve been in business three years and have been praying for a sign. I’ve asked the Lord to take away anything that isn’t from him including the business and the vision I see. 3-3-3. I will continue to walk by faith and not by sight, nurturing the land and trust that God’s plan and will are perfect in every way.
    I hope my God shot encourages someone to keep going 🙏

    On the subject of judgment, one of things that really does remind of the compassion God has is how easy it is for us to be accepted into the kingdom of God and avoid judgement, accepting and acknowledging Jesus as our savior:
    ““I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭47‬-‭50‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    This is one of my favorite verses. Kind of puts life in perspective for me. All of the wild animals eat, and drink and the Lord provides. It’s when humans intervene and try to feed them that there becomes issues. The Lord created me in his image therefore, I know He will provide in the same way He provides for the birds. ❤️🥰😍

    Do not store up treasures on earth….store up God. We are living during the period of Grace, a precious time we can devote to cultivating our relationship with God. We do it by seeking God and reading the scriptures. Jesus gave many warnings during his life on earth and the one on Luke 12:24, spoke to me: Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you will try to enter and will not be able to.
    The narrow door will close here on earth in the future. The period of Grace will end. As we enter through the narrow door (Jesus himself), the Lord will be in our hearts to guide us, mold us, teach us through what we read in the Bible.

    In Luke 13:6 Jesus tells the parable of the fig tree. This tree was apparently growing and doing well except it bore no fruit. For three years it bore no fruit and the owner was getting frustrated and is ready to cut it down, but the gardener wants to give it one more chance and what does he do? He disturbs the soil the tree is planted in and he sows stinking fertilizer. Is that what it takes for God to get our attention? Does He need to sow stinking trouble into our lives? At those times we should look up to Him and reexamine ourselves and our situation. Are we bearing the fruit that we should or have we grown complacent? ““The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    I was disappointed when I read the assurance of salvation article. It made no mention of baptism; a vital and necessary part of God’s plan of salvation. Read Acts 2:38. Peter said to do two things to those who believed his gospel sermon: repent AND be baptized. Why? For the remission (forgiveness) of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. He then said that this command was a “promise” not only to them, but to their children AND to all who are afar off, meaning everyone in the future…and that would us!

    • @jerrygarland5929
      @jerrygarland5929 2 месяца назад +10

      But also remember the thief on the cross where there was no baptism. Jesus takes us where we are and baptism is a reflection of what it is like when we accept Him as Lord and Savior, not a have to or else your not saved kind of thing. Yes, baptism is a reflection of what Christ has done for us but not a requirement of being written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

    • @lindagilpin5415
      @lindagilpin5415 2 месяца назад +6

      This verse can be explained if you realize the use of the word "for" here. Example, you go to prison FOR murder, but you're not going there to GET or ACHIEVE murder. Same way, you repent, are saved, and are baptized for the remission of your sins. You are baptized as an outward expression of the fact that you have been saved, not as an actual part of salvation

    • @lisacarpenter1157
      @lisacarpenter1157 2 месяца назад

      @@jerrygarland5929the new covenant was not in effect yet when the thief was on the cross. The gospel was shared 50 days later on the Day of Pentecost when the church was established when Peter preached the first gospel sermon and the hearers asked “what shall we do?” they needed a remedy to their sin problem and the answer was “repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of (by the authority) Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all who are afar off as many as the Lord our God will call.” Romans 6:3 & Gal.3:27 clearly state that we are baptized “into” Christ; His body, the church, the sanctified or set apart. Jesus’ own words in Mark 16:15-16 He commanded His apostles to preach the gospel and those believe it and are baptized will be saved, but those who don’t believe will be condemned. (My paraphrase).

    • @lisacarpenter1157
      @lisacarpenter1157 2 месяца назад

      @@lindagilpin5415the use of the word ‘for’ is not used in the manner in which you described in Peter’s response to the crowd on the day of Pentecost. Read Paul’s account in Acts 22 when he tells the story of his encounter with the Lord on the road to Damascus; vs. 16 clearly says that he was told to “arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord (which means to call on the authority of the Lord, who by the way gave the apostles the commandment to preach the gospel and baptize.)

    • @lindawilson4117
      @lindawilson4117 2 месяца назад +3

      The call for Paul to be baptized was a call to obedience, not a call for salvation. If we could do ANYTHING to help God save us, why would Christ have had to leave Heaven and suffer as He did?
      The thief on the cross . . . . He wasn't baptized and he didn't even receive The Holy Spirit because Christ was still in the world and The Holy Spirit hadn't been sent yet. But Jesus said to him, "Today you will be with me in Paradise."
      Trust in Christ's sacrifice and resurrection alone for salvation; all else is obedience and discipleship.
