Another Flea Market Haul

- This time I went to an outdoor flea market, which is very close to my house, but which I have never been to. I didn't have much time to look, so I didn't get to visit all of the vendors, but even so I came away with some good finds.
I will be dating myself but l remember having the types of activity books you purchased. They are probably from the late 30s/early 40s.What fun to remember those times. And how fortunate l was to have grown up in an era so very different from today. Always enjoy seeing your flea market finds and the creative ways you use them.❤️ ps. no l don’t want to turn back the clock. There were lots of unhappy times back then too.

I have never found vintage paper dolls like that before! I don't think they're worth anything because they are cut out and not complete, but I love them!

Yeah, I'm anxious to go back, but I don't know when I'll get another Monday off, and their season is probably almost over. Can't believe I waited so long to check it out!
Ha! I grew up playing with Rig-A-Jig !!! The kids Activities books looked a lot like our Weekly Reader.

For a short visit at flea market you found quite a few nice items. Love those paper dolls. Also the 1965 Mickey is cute, it's about the time I got my first Donald Duck magazine. Like your videos about flea market visits a lot.

Thank you. This is the first time I have found vintage paper dolls. I wish I had gotten more, but $5 each adds up quickly! Maybe they will still be there the next time I go.

I'm never sure what to do with things that are written on, but next time you mail things out, sure i'll take a couple of pieces, for my personal stash, lol... Hugs!

Could you scan and resize the images that are too large as they are? Those images are so cute it'd be a shame to waste them.

I waited by the window every day watching for the mailman to bring "The Activity Magazine ". Loved that book and did most of the activities and of course, read it from cover to cover. I think it was put out by Highlights Magazine. Got that also and that's probably why I want to do every thing I see done on RUclips. I am that old. I better hurry up and get these unfinished projects done before I croak. lol
Don't you hate that, Diane, when you actually remember to go it'll be the day it isn't on? Grrr... Some great pieces to work with & it'll be interesting seeing them come to life again. The 'Good Housekeeping' mag has some nice images & the text papers are a good yellow colour too: no need to tea/coffee dye those ones. What a fantastic score with the paper dolls. I've seen a sheet on eBay for $20 so what a bargain. Is there any colour left in the book you paint on with water? I remember them. I still have a hard time deciding whether to cut those type of books up with good colour pictures. I think to myself 'do I cut the image out or add it as a folded page'...decisions, decisions. Thank you, Leanda. I've never seen paint with water pages like these. I don't see any color at all to activate with water. As for the cut it up or use the folded page dilemma... I do a little of both!
I can recall having a few of them & you couldn't see any colour until the water was applied with a brush. Maybe do a test & see what happens. I've got so much I may as well cut some of it up. Have fun....
Would love to have one of those Activitiy magazine if you want to sell. Just for rememberence.
