I only use a running lead set up for zigs, and you can still adjust it up, down all around without a float!. And still using a 3 foot or so hook link straight to your mainline, but it does take longer to adjust.... But you have to do what suits you......

Which side is the cap turned towards, the grooved part towards the side of the boom-clip??...and then does the hook on the "back" with PVA go to the individual hole??...that's how I understood it in a video? ...then why doesn't the cap have any markings?
...the boom with the lead clip clip gets stuck very often, it's not yet fully developed, it took me 2 hours until it worked one time, I sanded a tiny little section with a scalpel so that the metal clip would slip out better !!
