Great breakdown and discussion. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these, especially with the focus on the upstarts.
Glad you enjoyed it! Aperion brought the heat.
I like these videos as it's always nice to see how speakers of a certain budget stack up to other brands. I've been eyeing the Verus 3 bookshelf speakers for a while (the reason i found your channel) as nobody on RUclips really has them.
They are amazing speakers.
Great review! I almost went with the kef cause I wasn’t happy with my rp600m but ultimately went with the cantons and I am very happy with them!
Thanks for sharing!
Which Canton did you get? What about it do you like better?
I have a pair of KEF Q350 and I love them. The sound stage was the first thing that really grabbed my attention. A very warm tonal quality was the next thing that grabbed my attention. Never sounding harsh in the highs
For some reason KEF under rated the bass output on these as they can easily get down to 35hz and with gusto too!
A piece of music I recommend to test the bass is from the soundtrack of the film 1917 entitled "Up the Down Trench" by Thomas Newman
Awesome. I have used the 350 in my TV room for a while now. They are beautiful.
Outstanding review gents! I won't ruin it for others, but my favorite speakers won.. couldn't agree with you more (as I've listened to the other two also). The 2 month wait for this review was worth it. Thanks again. Looking forward to the next battle.
Much appreciated! The KEF's were close... and if it had been a high end KEF product it might have taken the prize.
Love the battle between the kef’s & the klispch, but would love to hear them. I’m trying to decide which of these speakers to purchase. Sigh...the search continues.
There are so many options!
The battle begins... again!
Indeed!
Really nice job.
Thank you! Cheers!
It depends on your application. If your doing an all around multi media - home theater mix of movies, music, gaming etc. the more dynamic Klipsch speakers would be my first choice. Now if your listening leans more heavily to music, than that definitely broadens the playing field. Audition when you can.
Thanks for the great tips.
But are they really more dynamic? They are more sensitive but that’s not they same thing.
Ive got KEF Q150s and love them.
Sweet!
I enjoy your video's, maybe mention how easy or difficult these speakers are to drive. Will a mid range AVR do the trick or does one need more beef with an integrated amp to get the most out of it. Thanks
A midrange AVR will power all of these easily.
I think it was my Yamaha receiver manual said that bi amping does not really increase the volume substantially because it takes 10 times the power to double the volume by doubling the power it doesn't really increase the volume substantially but they said there's generally better sound quality when you run your high range high frequency range not with your mid and and bass range bass frequency.
Generally doubling power will give you a 3DB boost. Once you are in the 200-300 watt range it takes lots of juice and speakers that don;t melt to get move vol. Sometimes its best to look for more sensitive speakers.
I like those KEF!
These were amazing!
I bought the Klipsch, hated them and replaced them with the KEF 350s and love them so would be interested on hearing the Aperion but tbh I'm really happy with my KEFs.
The KEFs are great speakers!
Thanks for the 10% off link.
No problem!
I was honestly shocked!
You never know!
I'm shocked too but really the aperion cost more and the speaker is smaller so it makes sense that it would be a tiny bit better. The klipsch are really great and I enjoy them very much. If I look to replace them or look for something else and hopefully a step up then maybe I'd check out aperion. Chances are, though, I'm happy with the klipsch sound, so I'd probably move up to the Cornwall iv or forte 3.
Hi guys. I have the Klipsch rp600m at home and the whole rp260f rp450c home theater ...... I listened to a bit of Heco Celan Revolution3. The column won the Finnish test with the BW 706s Sv Ultra Bockself for the price from 1000 to 1400e with 8 pairs of speakers was the best . In my country you can buy it for 700 dollars a pair. You will not come out with admiration. Even the floorstanders have no chance. You will be the first to test these speakers.
Hello My hésitation for Kef q350 or Bw 606 ? For the home theater 5.1.. what your opinion?
Ive not heard the 606. I really like the Aperion and the KEF.
Finally! Thank you!!
You are welcome!
Finally what?
@@kohnfutner9637 finally they reviewed the aperion against other speakers!
@@AP-go1ks oh, did you get yourself some aperion?
@@kohnfutner9637 I actually had Aperion's Grand Verus Towers, Center and bookshelf speakers for 1 year, was waiting for a review of them on this channel. Hence the 'finally' comment!
Wich one will be better for home theater use? I’m between the KEF and the Aperion. Great video
They are all good as long as you have a subwoofer. It comes down to your taste in speaker sound. I’m partial to the Aperion myself. Discount code for that one below.
Any of the speakers I would have to wall mount what is the Clarence I would need is 3 or 4" of Clarence OK
Check out the Starke Sound VS-61.
Never heard anyone say the q350's lack bass. Interesting.
Well, they all really lack bass... Ive not heard a bookshelf that really played full range enough for me.
@@JilesMcCoy I agree....I love the sound of q350 but it lacks bass. I pair it with a b&w subwoofer for deeper bass.
q350 lacks bass??? WTF?
Hey, have you had a chance to try the SVS Primes bookshelfs? If yes would you go with the Primes over the Klipsch RP600M? I want to use them in a 5.1.2 setup for movies but also for music. Can't hear this speakers in my town, no audio showrooms here!
I would like the same
Did you ever get the answer to this I’m doing the same as you
@@InSaiyanShinobi no, i also consider the KEF Q350, Black Friday it's coming and i dont know what to buy!
@@AexoeroV lol same
Great review. I am looking at kef ls50 meta to start building my small home cinema. Think is a good idea?
La50 meta review coming very soon. Also a bookcase battle featuring that speaker!
When I bought my kefs, I was actually able to compare them with the klipsh through a demo. I agree with the sound. I actually thought the bass on the klipsh was a bit too boomy and clouded the sound. Hence, why I went with the kef. The bass is present but subtle. I love it
Thats awesome! I love KEF... I am about to take a look at the LS50 Metas! I am excited for that. My dream is to review the Blades one day.
@@JilesMcCoy I heard the ls50 metas are amazing. I would love to see blades review!
The RP600 has a resonance peak at approx. 800 hz that needs to be reduced via eq. After that, it has a midrange drop at around 1800hz that could use some eq to normalize. Post Eq., a huge improvement.
Love it! My second view & still love the comedy.
Glad you enjoyed it
They're all great, but The Aperions are beautiful!
They look really nice, I agree! Sound great too!
What amps, dac etc did you use for comparing?
No idea at this point. Long ago.
I would like to see Martin Logan.
Coming soon.
Just filmed it today!
IMO, the Q350 and Polk R200 are by far the best bookshelf speakers under $1k, at least that I've heard. The Elac DBR62 is no slouch either
You said the Aperion Verus can be Bright and lacks base, why prefer it over the two and gave it 5stars?
Thanks for the reviews.
I don’t want to speak for Mike - but for me I always use a sub and the Verus can attenuate the tweeters 3db if you think they are too bright.
That is a pro feature.
This review is for the speakers only without sub. How can you name it as the "Best" out of the 3, if it lacks bass?
Don't get me wrong, I am looking to purchase and deciding between the RP600, Q350 and the Elac's UB5. I had watched some of their reviews here on youtube, and all reviewers of the Kef Q350 say's that the Q350 are boomy. Kef even shipped them with port plugs to be use to reduces it. How do you find it lacks bass?
Your review is kinda Bias towards the Aperion. Hope you can review them again and give an honest and a fair comparison between these speakers, together with the UB5's.
Thanks for sharing.
@@doncarlitotan Hi Charlie - The review is unbiased. Thanks for watching!
@@JilesMcCoy okay..if you say so.🙂
Q350 lack base 🤔 I have owned a pair for 12 months now. And I can honestly say I have too much bass which I did not expect
Very cool!
Lol hey Gents all I know is that Klipsch RP600'S are dynamic and you can feed them with minimal power they are that good and to go a further Klipsch RB 61 11 are not that far away from the RP600'S
Ive used the RP600s for a long time. They are solid.
Спасибо за субтитры на русском! Интересно было мнение относительно KEF Q350.
:-)
What would be a great speaker for surround sides
DO you need them on stands, on the wall, or in the wall?
@@JilesMcCoy on the wall
@@JilesMcCoy ?
@@codychavarria6088 I would look for something that finally matches your mains. What are those?
Hi awesome video, I planning to buy aperion audio 2 grand should I buy or buy klipsch? Kef? Thanks
Sorry, aperion audio versus 2 grand bookshelf speaker.
I’d do either the KEF or the Aperion. The KEF meta is really awesome. Which model are you thinking? Need a link?
@JilesMcCoy HI between the klipsch 600m or the aperion audio versus 2 grand yes there is a second grand out there you mentioned the aperion audio verus 3 beats the klipsch 600m so I'm thinking the aperion audio verus 2 is better than the klipsch 600m or maybe I should buy the jbl studio 530? Please tell me which should I prefer my music is classic rock to hard rock. Thank you.
@@alonzoperez1969 If you are doing rock I’d buy the rp600 v2.
@JilesMcCoy one last question what do think about the jbl studio 530? Klipsch rp 600m v2 are way better sound? Thank you for your feedback 😊 I'm always watching your videos.
I don't agree on the KEF comparison. I have auditioned many KEF against Klipsch and Martin Logan. To me KEF sound veiled and somewhat understated. I also think it is pretty cheesy to offer the grills as an option as KEF does. KEF did not go overboard on the finish of the cabinets either so I think there is plenty of cost cutting going on there. But as with many things that is just an opinion. The RP600M are probably too bright for many so I get it that some folks prefer something warmer. Good heads up on the Aperion. I have never seen or heard these so I will have to hunt them down and see what they sound like in person.
Thanks DA!
would you rather spend your money on fancy veneers and cheaper drivers? I prefer my money going towards the quality of the components that affect the sound quality, and the finish of the cabinet isn't one of them. I couldn't care less if they have a cheap vinyl wrap, and long as the build quality of the cabinet is sound. Cutting a few corners on the cosmetics leaves more money for better drivers and crossovers
@@DougMen1 Ya, I don't disagree at all. It is just KEF are pretty expensive and they don't sound that good to me. That's personal taste. Having said that all these brands are out to make a buck and most of the hype is marketing. Hell even the Klipsch Cornwall $6K speakers have crappy cabinets. I have seen them opened up. If you disagree with this - sorry your wrong. The cabinets on the Cornwall's are garbage and the woofer is not much better. They sound great in a show room, but in my opinion its a shameless money grab. Sorry for the rant. I agree with you that components are worth more than the box ascetic, but lest be honest - for $1500 for a small pair of book shelf speakers with a coaxial driver - painted box - nope. KEF should give a little more for that - and so should many of the other brands in my opinion.
So you say the aperion wins simply because of the soundstage? What about dynamics? I listen to the klipsch mainly because of their dynamics, not the soundstage. The soundstage isn't bad, it isn't great but it isn't the main draw.
I like the concert like dynamics and the quality of sound. I bet klipsch annihilates the aperion with theater. Klipsch also gives great weight to instruments: music isn't thin, tinny or wimpy. The klipsch have high enjoyability IMO with music and theater:. I haven't heard anything compete with klipsch in theater. So the argument or debate might nee misplaced depending on what you're choosing a winner for, the application you're needing speakers for and what type of parameters your decisions are being based on.
I'm sure the aperion probably has slightly better sound quality and soundstage but there's more to the equation:. Like trading power handling, price, dynamics, looks, concert horn sound, for slightly better almost unnoticeable sq? Just know what you're getting for what you're giving up. The klipsch is a great speaker and for it to finish last tells me this is probably a very close race. I have had a lot of speakers and I'd think many times over before believing I'd give them up for anything else.
I like my Klipsch too much to get rid of them. I could add aperion if I get space but my klipsch are going nowhere. Well, my 600m might go somewhere because they've been replaced with 280f. They are so good I have to agree with most people I know who have heard them:. There's not much of Way they can be beat. What they do well, they do in spades and people love klipsch for the way they recreate the you are there sound. I'd definitely like to try the aperion. I appreciate the video, guys. Truck on!
All 3 of these speakers are great! I don't think you would have an issue with dynamics on any of them.
hi does the aperion sound too bright?
Not at all.
@@JilesMcCoy between the rp600m and the verus iii which one do u think is brighter?
No sound samples? Sound is more personal preference, and that is just your personal preference
It is all very subjective, I agree. Sound samples played through a different speaker wouldn't help you understand what these sound like in person though.
wwhat about the rp600m mark 2?
Never seen them!
@@JilesMcCoy what do you mean?
KEF for life
Not a bad way to go at all!
Kef Q350 is a hands-down winner! The best mid-priced bookshelf speaker period!
Its a great speaker!
Anyone who says the RP-600 is “average” has to have a hearing deficit. I have been an audiophile since the early 1970s and I have listen to thousands of speakers and I was shocked when I first heard them. I have never heard anything better under a thousand dollars.
They are making an appearance in the next Bookshelf Battle video!
If you like a poorly engineered speaker voiced like a graphic EQ smiley face with boosted bass and treble and sucked out mids, then go for it. The RP500M is by far the best engineered and balanced bookshelf from Klipsch, with all the dynamics of the 600, but with an accurate and linear frequency balance. Look at Danny from GR Research's measurements of the 500 vs. 600, or listen to E Project's comparison of the two
Is this a paid promo by aperion?
I wish.
Tom cruise listened to Kef speakers
k
Drama.
The aperion is twice the street price of the others.
Its worth it too!
KEF is Q150 is better than Q350 actually...
Interesting! What do you like about them?
q 350 lack of bass?
it's all bass with this bookshelf.
With a sub its phenomenal.
klipsh are too much in your face sound
Depends on the speaker and set up I think.
Not with the 600m they are bright but not the normal in your face klipsch sound. They are a little warm but more bright. Symbols and brass aren’t soo harsh with these they’re more mellow and women voices sound great on these! I love them I went with piano black and I’m glad I did. For price point I like the klipsch and the Polk 702s my friend has in the bookshelf game. Now those are a warm speaker!
Only "Gebabbel". But not one sound example.
Your cell phone speakers wouldn’t do any of them justice.
@@JilesMcCoy I know but this was an amateur project but alive and audible. No dispute please. Not important enough. Stay healthy.
