That Borg cube was so enormous that I think it was put together from remnants of the giant unicomplex destroyed by Janeway. Enjoyed the Return Of The Jedi homage with the Enterprise as the Millennium Falcon, and with Data's superhuman abilities you can imagine him being able to pull that off

I was a bit disappointed by this. No matter how good the pilot it still depends on the capabilities of the ship. I never got the impression that the enterprise-d was able to maneuver in that fashion. If it could what's the point of having a defiant-class ship which was supposed to be more maneuverable?

    • @acidtwin

The way it exploded made me think it was a load of Borg cubes connected up and then merged enough to create a huge cube.
As time went on it would be near impossible to maintain but calculated to be maintained enough up until the Queen's end game, with a couple of spare drones for her to feed off of in case of a small delay/miscalculation etc.

We have always heard that Starfleet ships were huge threats, especially the Enterprises. That fight showed what those comments meant in action.
It is a ship that should be able to do everything it did during that fight with the right crew at the controls with seasoned experience. Even more interesting, this class is considered the least manoeuvrable of the cruisers, yet it is doing this stuff.
Imagine what the E was capable of, and it was stated to be far above the D in speed and manoeuvrability, and the F tops the E in that aspect, and outfights the E as well, since she is actually the first dreadnought class to carry the name Enterprise.@@samtaylor9932

Why are we assuming the Enterprise-G to be the flagship by default? Other ships have served as flagships over the years and it seems more likely that another ship would be flagship over the G. I personally love the idea of the Enterprise once again being an exploration vessel.

Having watched most of season 3 before watching seasons 1 and 2, I can see Matalas's influence on the writing. I'm in the minority, but I think season 2, for the most part, had less-bad writing than season 1. Not as good as season 3, which also had its faults, but one can tell that Matalas and his writing staff know (or can find) the universe in which they're writing. I don't expect perfection - I'm no Borg - but 3 is a vast improvement over 1 and 2, and not just because of reuniting the TNG crew. I was unhappy when T'Veen died. I found myself caring about Lieutenant Mura, Ensign Esmar, and, of course, the daughters La Forge (not just nepotistically). Spock assumed captaincy of the 1701 after the vanishing of captain decker and promotion of kirk. Riker became captain Riker of the 1701-Dduring the initial Borg invasion during best of both worlds. I think it's neat how Q says to Picard that now he (Picard) can be worthy for someone else to choose at the end of Farewell. Q very well could have meant Jack choosing in the future. But, Q could have also meant himself. Q said he'd see Picard again at the end of S2, so Picard and Q end up together after S3. Q was always after Picard.

If the enterprise-F was being decommissioned after frontier day, it makes no sense for the Titan to end up being the enterprise-G, because they would’ve had another enterprise, another flag ship, ready to go, or nearly early in the works. If the enterprise-F wasn’t being decommission, but got destroyed during all of this or terribly severely damaged and she had to be put out of her misery, then turning the Titan into the Enterprise-G as a placeholder, very similar to what happened to the Enterprise-A, makes more sense. I loved the episode, though the G felt like it dishonored the Titan itself and the Enterprise should be a grand new ship, not just a little refit guy like that. But that and the quick fix for the Borgification, which sounded more like a structural development in the brain rather than something else you can just edit out, but those two things stand out because the rest was so good, and I'm very happy about Captain Seven and that crew. In a way, the Borg Queen clinging on to life though felt reminiscent of what we got in those Destiny books which I really liked. For Crusher's targeting though, they were moving pretty quick, and I liked Troi reprising her trick from Nemesis. All the Worf/Riker stuff was just great too. So, here's a question. Is the Enterprise G going to be the flagship? Yes, several ships named Enterprise have been Starfleet's flagship over the years. But it's not like there's a hard, fast rule it has to be the flagship. And there's been times where there wasn't an Enterprise around where the flag would fall to another ship. What was the flagship between the C's destruction and the D's construction?
Not to mention no one has said on screen that the G is now the flagship (unless I totally missed the line), and it doesn't seem like it's outside the realm of possibility that they renamed the Titan in its honor, but are leaving the flag for another bigger, more advanced ship. And being an exploratory vessel is what the Enterprise line has always been the most known for. So why not have it be a light exploratory cruiser?
And as far as Seven getting command, why not? She knows the crew. She knows the ship. If it's the flagship, then yes, that seems weird. But again, _is_ the G the new flagship just because it inherited the Enterprise name?

True. Also, we know from disco seasons 3 and 4 that the Voyager lineage would also end up taking the flag ship positions with the Voyager-J - so even with the enterprise F being sent out to pasture before it's borgification, they were probably (and have) passed the "flag" onto the Voyager-B

The Constitution Class Enterprise has always been my favorite Enterprise, although the Galaxy Class Enterprise is a close second. You have to remember, that the former Titan is not a 150-ish year old ship, the Neo Constitution Class was made to resemble the old-style Constitution Class, she's plenty up to date, she just has a retro look, kind of like the new take on a much older Camaro. As others have mentioned, no one said that the G was the Flagship, I don't recall if anyone even said that the F was the flagship either. I'm perfectly content with the Enterprise going back to being a ship of exploration. Data has flown shuttles and the runabout and probably had basic training on piloting at the Academy. When Picard took the helm in Booby Trap, while to increase dramatic tension, it was noted that intuition (or your gut) was a necessary element to piloting. I have no problem with him flying the ship through all of it this time because Data now had everything he needed to do it.

Seven as Captain was okay because she was already first officer, so if anything she was made first officer too quickly. Kirk and Picard made Captain quickly due to taking command in dire situations, so Seven's promotion seems similar. Re. Titan/Enterprise-G - I was one of the people who called that this would wind up the new Enterprise (I remember actually thinking "they're going pull a Yorktown on it"), though I did actually hope for a new ship - given the tips of the hat Matalas has made to Star Trek IV, I thought they'd do the same thing where we see the Titan first and then pan over it to the Enterprise. Having said that: I don't think the Enterprise-G *is* the flagship. It kind of feels a bit like the Enterprise-A - a gap-fill until they can get the intended next class that bears the Enterprise name out there. I also hope they launch Titan-B, since it needs *something* to carry on the name.
Re. the Borg Queen - I thought the dubbing was done really well, but it definitely feels weird hearing Alice Krige's voice coming from somebody else, and I think that's the disconnect there. I'd like to know why they hired a body double and not Alice Krige for the physical part. Did she only agree to voice the character and not do the makeup? Was it a scheduling thing, whereby she could only provide voiceover? As for the character, I took her to be the one from the end of Voyager, now without the ability to hop into a new body. I've heard comparisons to Palpatine in Rise of Skywalker, and those comparisons say that the Borg Queen pulled it off waaay better, partly because they actually explained things. Honestly: yeah, I can see it.

Even if G is just meant to be a stopgap ship until the next gen heavy cruiser platform came online you rename another Odyssey class ship. This is more like instead of giving Kirk another Connie you brought out an NX refit that with some contemporary tech in it and said hey here’s your new flagship, or here’s your Oberth class Enterprise. Or in todays navy when they retired the Enterprise carrier, renaming a little destroyer instead of waiting for the new Ford class ship, it’s a total step out of the lineage. And Seven as the captain isn’t as bad as JJ giving it to a bunch of cadets but it’s still should be a prestigious enough posting to preclude it being your first command imho.

I think fans make too much out of the idea that the Enterprise must be the Flagship.
Honestly I never thought the Enterprise was the Flagship during the Pike years or Kirk TOS years.
Now after the refit in 2271 I assume for few years she was the Flagship ship but was definitely not by 2285 as she was now a Cadet Training Vessel.
I always assumed the Excelsior was the Flagship vs the Enterprise-A.
The Titan-A/Enterprise-G grew on me and I love the Neo-Constitution design so I'm good with it. It doesn't need to be the biggest or best or the Flagship.
Give me Legacy with Captain Seven, Jack, Sydney, & the Enterprise-G.

What happened to the Borg in Season 2? Where there 2 Borg Queens in season 3?

Yes, there had to be at least two if you count Jurati as a queen. Back in the Delta quadrant there may be another, who knows...

I actually cheered that Deanna and Beverly had their own moments of awesome. And I was yelling at Picard, Riker, and Worf to stop saying good bye because I was afraid they might die. And oooh boy that body-horror look of the Borg Queen was awesome. And my heart felt tingly when we heard Walter Koenig as Pavel's son, Anton Chekov (a clear tribute to Anton Yelchin).
I love this finalé. Though I dislike the Titan being turned into the Enterprise. It felt kind of like a downgrade to go from the Ent-F to Titan/Ent-G. And Jack being fast tracked through Starfleet feels.....strange. And is it okay with Starfleet that Seven has a relationship with her First Officer? If they do move forward with a show, perhaps they could finally turn the lights on in the set. And please bring back Elnor!!!!

She doesn’t have a relationship with her first officer. She HAD a relationship with her first officer when she wasn’t officially a part of Starfleet (because S31 aren’t officially members of Starfleet). Had being the operative word.

I think they missed something with Jack, he not even a Ensign, I wish Seven would have handed him his assignment and it was like cleaning the toilets. Because that the job a new ensign out of the academy would be assigned. An he does it because he there to repair the damage he did to the Federation and it was partially his fault.

This might be a dumb question. But does it explicitly say anywhere that Enterprise-G is the flagship?

No but, every single Enterprise has been the flagship from 1701 Refit into E (and we assume F)

I thought it was hilarious they trying to redeem Deanna in this episode as a pilot... after so many critics from the fans after Generations and Nemesis..lol
But I also love the fact that she, as one of my favorite neglected character of the TNG show since the beginning, had more importance , good lines and presence then all the episodes of all the 7 seasons put togheter...;)))

Best season of Picard, it felt more like a 1st season. The Titian should not have been renamed Enterprise. Titian is a legendary ship that has earned its name. I felt like it was a missed opportunity to have the Defiant and Voyager help with the siege of the Cube, they know Enterprise D can't move like that. Lars was completely disrespected, why even have her as a part of the season? Also has Harry Kim made any rank? Seven is a Captain and Raphie is first officer. The rank structure in Starfleet doesn't matter. Anybody can just be promoted to anything. Poor Harry Kim smh. A Kira DS9 show should be in the works with the Changelings back.

    a) Titan is too ugly to be a new Enterprise.
    b) Renaming Titan erases the heroic and brilliant acomplishments of the Titan and sacrifice of its crew made during the show. "Titan what Titan, you mean new Enterprise?"
    It was a bad move.

This is the season that works..forget 1&2. What I want to know is what did Worf do to the previous Enterprise? I found the lighting a bit too dark. "Why can I feel Joy"? (Big grin on Data's face) I don't like the new Enterprise-G, but I do like Seven as its captain.
