      @@SteveOGRock The Wacken performance is all the more interesting in that it's the end of set.
      Another track worth digging up is "Who is Gonna Be the One" live.
      And, as a personal note (since I'm a terrible person) I have no small amusement watching the crowd try to keep up with the temp changes and syncopation. Parts of the crowd end up looking like a metal version of the Muppet dance floor...

    There IS vocal layering, the video description has some more information about the mix. This is basically a re-recording of a slightly older song, specifically made to show off their new drummer, as his unique drumming style really changed how the song sounded. The vocals and how the song is composed however made it go viral on reaction channels, though, I can guarantee you that Jinjer fans stay for the whole band and their very technical and unique style - and if it weren't for this re-recording most people would've never heard of them. She not just does low guttural screams, but her harsh vocals are generally highly influenced by Randy Blythe from Lamb of God, as she wanted to sound more like a male screamer.
    I can leave you my usual recommendations, in case you want to check out more.
    Official video suggestions:
    Teacher, Teacher
    Vortex
    I Speak Astronomy
    Cloud Factory
    Retrospection
    Wallflower
    No Hoard Of Value (official lyric video)
    Home Back
    Mediator
    Sit Stay Roll Over
    Live suggestions:
    Perennial live at Wacken
    Who Is Gonna Be The One live
    On The Top live in Kiev
    Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev
    Judgement & Punishment (one take vocal performance)

    You are very welcome! Thanks for the wave! Glad you checked it out. I kind of had a sneaky ulterior motive in making this suggestion. In your Aurora reaction you mentioned her music was beautiful but it wasn't really your style and you liked metal. I know Aurora is a big fan of metal (based on her style who'd a thunk it, right?) and one of her consistent lyrical themes is about not putting people in boxes regarding how they choose to live their lives. As an example, I really haven't cared for metal in the past but, another RUclips reactor that I follow exposed me to Jinjer and what do you know I liked it, at least that song. It opened me up. I hope you check out more Aurora, she is a very unique artist with an often sad but beautiful way lyrically of getting her message about empathy, compassion and acceptance out there. Personally I think music/art is about expressing emotion and exploring feeling or it really doesn't hit the mark and any message is lost. Thanks again for reacting to both these artists/bands! I think they are all very gifted and special, have worked hard at their craft, and deserve exposure to as wide an audience as possible.

      Love this comment. Thank you Jeff.
      Good news! On Sunday I will be posting a video of my reaction to Aurora’s live performance of Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) at the Noble Peace Prize. She is really quite something.

    • @jeffmalloy8200
      @jeffmalloy8200 3 года назад +3

      Yeah, this music reaction stuff is very cool. It's become quite a community. A lot of reactors have stated how much their viewers have expanded their exposure to stuff they probably never would have seen/heard, and the same is true for many of us viewers. I am not a muscian and I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I can't imagine life without music! The reactions have really expanded my appreciation and understanding of the music and the skill that goes into creating it.
      Glad to hear you are doing another reaction to a great Aurora song. She wrote it about a story which took place not too far from where she grew up. It is sung from the perspective of a woman who is killed by her mate in order to end her suffering from a vicious progressive incurable disease and the effect the decision had on both of them. Brutal and tragically beautiful. You will experience Aurora's total commitment to the performance of virtually every song she sings. Whether it's an original like Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) or a cover of another artist's song she is all in every single time!

    Well yes, this video is the general culprit for people getting hooked to Jinjer, I just checked the timestamp and couldn't believe when I saw it was four long years ago. This song is as soft as they get, they're generally heavier, but like to mix styles/genres in and keep it interesting for the listener. Lately they got more on the technical side, and while I really like how they sound, I'm liking the older stuff better. They're all top musicians but Tatiana is another world entirely.
    I'd like you to check out "Teacher teacher official", and maybe "Perennial LIVE at Wacken 2019" or "Who is gonna be the one Live" for some live experience. Or if you prefer the latest release, "Vortex" or "Wallflower".

    Jinjer is actually a band you cannot pin a hard genre on. They are very diverse and that's the reason I say that they are a very important group for this time as there are sooo many bands that sound like another band or two or three.
    With that being said, I am more intrigued by the PRS & Fender hung on the wall behind you. Which models are they and which do you prefer playing?

    • @SteveOGRock
      @SteveOGRock  3 года назад +1

      The Fender is a Mexican made Stratocaster.
      The PRS is a Custom 22 Maple.
      The PRS is by far the more enjoyable to play. It sounds absolutely gorgeous, a real thing of beauty. It is pretty heavy though so the Fender is easier to throw around.
      The Fender was my first guitar, the PRS was my upgrade =)
