    Man you know how to make that chicfilet dissappear! Had to chuckle to myself on your take off, with the camera on John? in the left seat as he's calling for heading at 2:45, beard, sunglasses and serious look on his face (as it should be i imagine on take off) the old Steppenwolf song Magic Carpet ride came to my mind and he was perfect! That would be a fun theme song.....for if anyone does fly a magic carpet it is you guys!
    Maybe you have to be an oldster like myself to appreciate it though..

    Cute! A Recaro kid seat!
    Shaun, you looked so tired at the end! Sympathies from a former railroader (Motto: "Eat when you're not hungry, sleep when you're not tired")
    When you call out "six lights," do those indicate 4 boards and 2 reversers?.

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  6 лет назад

      HAHA! You noticed that seat, huh? My son loves it. The six lights are all for the reversers...3 lights per engine. The "boards up" is the spoilers.

    GREAT series. Noticed the G IV autopilot has a very jerky roll axis on the control yoke. Looks like the roll servo has too much gain. Is this normal for this aircraft? Lot's of oscillation (rapid movement) in the roll control when coupled to the A/P?

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  6 лет назад

      It is a bit jerky, but it looks worse in turbulence. It's hard to tell when we are in turbulence from the cameras being so stable. In smooth air they are much better.

    So I noticed the auto pilot is a little twitchy but at what point do you turn AP off and take over? 20 feet? 100 feet?

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  7 лет назад

      I like to turn it off and hand fly below 1000 feet or so, but it all depends on the situation.

  • @hommie789

    At the start you said you took on 1500 gallons, what is the conversion from gallons to LBS? Also when you land the computer spits out a number, what is that? Remaining fuel? If fuel why is it more when you returned then when you landed in Teterboro? You took on more fuel? Was 3000 in Tet and 4000 at the end.

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  7 лет назад

      The conversion is 6.7 LBS per gallon. The 3000 remaining you hear is the distance in feet to the end of the runway. It's just making sure we get slowed down before running off the end...

    • @Newzchspy
      @Newzchspy 7 лет назад +2

      Real simple: drop the last zero ( 0) off the lbs, divide that by 2 and add the result back. 1500 lbs of fuel is calculated as follows : , 150/2=75; 150 + 75= 225 gallons

  • @hpflyboi
    @hpflyboi 7 лет назад

    Now can you explain what you are saying about sinking or something like that just before landing?

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  7 лет назад

      yep...we are referring to the sink rate in feet per minute. Anything more than about 1000 feet per minute is probably a bit too steep.

    • @hpflyboi
      @hpflyboi 7 лет назад

      Corporate Pilot Life that’s what I thought but for some reason I second guessed myself cuz in a couple videos it sounded like you were saying something different for some reason so I wasn’t sure. Thanks for the great videos dude. New to the channel and loving what I am seeing.

  • @janaaj1an889
    @janaaj1an889 7 лет назад

    You both have 4 stripes. John is always in the left seat, Sean in the right. You both make consistently beautiful landings (do you not record the bad ones, or are you really that good?) Does this mean that John makes more than Sean? or does he just have more hours?

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  7 лет назад +4

      We're both fully qualified captains on the G-IV. Jon does have seniority, however...and yes...we are that good. LOL I did make a carrier landing a week ago that I'll put up in the near future.

    How many pounds of ice cold Jet-A did you use going up to TEB ?? Out of curiosity what's the current price up there for Jet fuel in NY ??

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  7 лет назад +2

      We used just under 8000 pounds of fuel to get up there...slightly more getting back due to headwinds. The fuel in TEB is running about $3.70 a gallon right now.

    • @Newzchspy
      @Newzchspy 7 лет назад

    Does your company have any concern about you posting videos of your flights? While I enjoy them, I envision some liability issues, in the event you have an incident or God forbid, an accident. I’m wearing my previous aviation underwriters hat...
