I’m a Mason we have laid this type of product and what we have found works is for each row is to lay the whole row before you start screwing it in case you have to do any minor adjustments once the row is laid and you’re happy with it Then screw the whole row together instead of laying a panel then screwing it Laying another panel then screwing it Then you find out your last panel doesn’t fit awesome video really enjoyed watching it
Thank you for showing us the installation. I will be putting this on the front of the house around the single door garage area for a bit of interest. This has been very informative.
I am so glad I happened upon your channel. I had no idea they had faux stone features in styrofoam. I have a wall where I want to do an accent feature, and, this would be perfect. Now, I know how to install it. Thanks.
Hi Shannon, we are having trouble finding the faux stone that you used? Can you give us a website or store that carries it? Or name brand? Thanks Jeanne
Nice install! .... I'm wondering if removing the black plywood tv mount panel and then screwing it back on after you got the bottom course of "stone" panel would have made that fitup easier?
Really would be nice to have a link to the product or something similar. I cant find anything on line like this. About to buy some ledger panels from home depot but I don't want to have to buy thin set and cover my floors, I'd rather just screw the panel in.
Thank you for your many instructional videos. You have been very helpful to me in working on the addition that I started in 2019. Everything from new windows to soffit, facia, and siding. My question now is how to transition from siding to veneer stone. Coming out from the base of my wall, I will have tyvek house wrap, a 1 inch stap, followed by 1 inch foam board, and then 5/8 inch siding. I was considering bending a 10 foot piece of 6 inch aluminum so that it would be about 3 inches up behind the strap and then bend 90° to come out around 2 5/8 inches and then slope down 45°. I am concerned that water might get behind the stone and I want to be sure that no air goes up in behind the foam board. Thank you for your help.

Is there a link where to buy this product? Or at least a brand name. I want to put this on the outside of the grilling station I am building at my home.
Can you tell me more about the Panels you are using and where you can purchase them. I need a different color and I’m going to use it outside. Thank you
Nice job & well explained. I'm waiting till that material drops to a more reasonable price. I can buy cultured stone for the price these PU panels go for. I suspect the Chinese will enter the market soon.
Nice vid, Don't measure and cut for factory then leave 1/8" gap and expect it to fit your install length peeps. Be consistent on what ever you choose. Would like to see links to material used.
sapoun, This product can be used on a fireplace wall. You need to check your fireplace manual however to see how close a combustible can be. These stone panels are considered a combustible. Cheers,
I also wouldnt have done the cuts the way you did around the plywood the tv mount will bolt to. I would have made it a full piece, but just trimmed off the top mounting strip and that's it, then glued the panel to the wall. Then would have stacked the prices on each side , then did a full piece across the top and then continue on. What you did was fine, you just created a lot more work for yourself.
As for the best way to cut it, the miter saw you used is one good option, but you could also use a hot wire which would be quick and clean, would just need a fan going for the fumes. I would have measured one row out exactly how it should be, then the next row, then I would just go ahead and cut all of the pieces I needed so I could just cruise through the install.
Quality Stone is made from an advanced high-density polyurethane and not a Styrofoam as stated. The density is incredibly stable which eliminates any chipping. This makes the miter saw the preferred method for cuts.
Hi Shannon. I'm a big fan and follower. This is my first comment. Since your cuts behind the tv are hidden and so detailed, why wouldn't you just use a jigsaw on these? The round blades were hard to maneuver for you.
Box on RHS of TV mount plywood is chase for cable, internet, and a whole hose of other wires. Electrician has the wall outlet below the base counter top for easy access - no need to take TV off the wall to make connection.Owner.
Wired internet connections will always yield better performance then wireless as the 802.3 standard offers a true bi-directional connection where as 802.11x is fundamentally based on that of a CB radio where a node can either send or receive. The original purpose of the 802.11x standard was to extended connectivity to areas where wire could not be installed not in place of.
Thank you for the tutorial, it was really informative. I've been look for a place to order this exact stone but in white. Can you share the vendor you purchase this from. All I've been finding is the style but in wall paper. I looking for the 3D look as in your video.
Just curious, why didn't you back bevel the piece under the TV plywood and the top piece with a corresponding 45 degree piece of light trim work to offer backing where you've removed the poly from back beveling?
i bought what looks to be this same product to do the front of my house that has a lot of windows, do I run this stuff right to the window? quality stone is the brand
This is Quality Stone. It is usually run right to the windows. You will need a paint kit so you can paint the cut edges that stick out further than the window brickmolding.
Nice work, man! I've been looking for these types of blocks here in Hungary. Could only find smaller and unfinished ESP blocks. You've got to paint them or spray them. They aren't that high quality, either. I'll keep on searching! :)
I have a 5 sided bay window and I would like to cover the outside bottom that's about 2.5 ft high in faux stone. It extends out over the basement window(no foundation to build on) How would you work around the 4 corners??? I'm in Canada.
You would need a special vertical corner piece for this product. it would be installed at the 4 corners and the bricks would be cut to butt to it. Check their site to se if they have something for that. "Quality stone" is the product I used here.
In theory yes, but you'd have to ensure any butt joints would meet on the studs. Having a paneled surface makes the Quality Stone installation much easier.
I know I'm super late to the party, but great video. What product are you using. I went to Home Depot and I didn't see this anywhere in the store. My wife wants a faux brick wall in our room, so I'm looking for something like that. Thanks again for the videos.
Hello Shannon. Thank you for your great DIY videos. Concerning "How To Install Faux Stone Wall Panels" my accent wall has a crown molding, which I just installed before deciding to install a faux stone wall. Should I remove the crown molding at the top of that wall or will it look fine with the faux stone butting up against the molding? Thanks
Great looking feature wall. Might have been easier to attach the plywood behind the TV after the stone wall. We always learn something for the next time.
Ok Great Vid...But they are not all tge same. This product is narrow which is what I need so that I don't have to cut and try to make it fit. Please provide product name?
Great call at 28:58. If you have to push hard with a knife there is a good chance you are about to cut yourself. If the blade won't do the work on it's own find another tool!
This guy is amazing he explains very calmly , great way to show how it's done, he is very systematic . Never missed a step
I’m a Mason we have laid this type of product and what we have found works is for each row is to lay the whole row before you start screwing it in case you have to do any minor adjustments once the row is laid and you’re happy with it Then screw the whole row together instead of laying a panel then screwing it Laying another panel then screwing it Then you find out your last panel doesn’t fit awesome video really enjoyed watching it
I've been watching different videos a lot today and yours are very comprehensive for newbies like me! Unlike 90 other videos I have viewed! Thanks!
The owner of this house must have sophisticated tastes and have a real cool dog. Thanks Shannon - turned out great and we are very happy. The owner.
LOL, you are welcome!
Thank you for showing us the installation. I will be putting this on the front of the house around the single door garage area for a bit of interest. This has been very informative.
A much better installation video than the manufacturer supplies. I got some great tips & my questions answered.
I am so glad I happened upon your channel. I had no idea they had faux stone features in styrofoam. I have a wall where I want to do an accent feature, and, this would be perfect. Now, I know how to install it. Thanks.
what is the name of the product you used? Nice work..

Great video Shannon. You’re a fantastic mentor for us DIY’ers
Sorry for the spamming comments. Just want to give people links to where they can find this exact stuff. Great video!
you can get this stuff at home hardware. its under the siding section
Good Job Shannon. Nice to watch how you work out problems when things don't go right the first time.
I’d like to see it finished with the tv. Pretty awesome video, very detailed.
Can this product be used indoors? Where would I find this? Most of the stores sell peel and stick type stuff
What is this product called? Is there corner ends for wrapping exterior foundation walls? Is there basement window kits when wrapping these walls?
Looks awesome bud. What is the name of the product and where can I get it please 🙏
Brand is Quality Stone.
Shannon can you get a detailed information on the panels that you used in this video
Thank you for sharing and been so explanatory on the cuts and the installation technique. It was very helpful.
He installed it backwards!! And I would have had two drills one too or drill holes and install left to right!!!!😂😂😂
hi guy, really I don't speak english, but i can understand all the videos, is pretty easy to learn with you, thaks you for you hard work.
Love dudes accent. Proper Canuck. Just like me.
Pro tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
@Jack Morgan Definitely, have been using Flixzone} for years myself :D
Looks fairly straightforward and easy, thanks!
You're welcome!
R you in the uk
Nice install! .... I'm wondering if removing the black plywood tv mount panel and then screwing it back on after you got the bottom course of "stone" panel would have made that fitup easier?
Won't matter because a tv is going to be there lol
Nice job - thank you. Comment - how about a narrow strip of led's on top for screen backlighting?
Great video!!!! I'm installing genstone tomorrow...
Shannon you're too gangster to be this polite good work from Minneapolis
Really would be nice to have a link to the product or something similar. I cant find anything on line like this. About to buy some ledger panels from home depot but I don't want to have to buy thin set and cover my floors, I'd rather just screw the panel in.

it would be usefull to know what and where we can find this product....
There are many similar products and this was not a sponsored video but these where Quality Stone.
Another good video, Interesting product, looks like it goes on pretty fast. A link in the description to the product would be nice though.
this brand I believe was" Quality Stone "
Quick question. If the cabinet wasn’t level, how would you start? What would you do with the chalk line to correct it?
Where did you get this stone paneling from? Thank you for the informative video.
This is" Quality Stone"
Ok I'll look into it. Thank you!
Great video Shannon. Gave me an idea. How could it be mounted onto a cinder block exterior wall?
Adhesive or strap wall and attach to straps
HouseImprovements Thanks for the advice. Going to give it a try before thanksgiving event at the house. Appreciate it.
How do people to corners with those panels?? If the fireplace sticks out? Need input asap
There are edge and corner pieces you can purchase. This product brand is Quality stone
Looks good, that extra piece of plywood for the TV mount is an unnecessary annoyance though.

Very nice video. Can this product install around fireplace?
sapoun, This product can be used on a fireplace wall. You need to check your fireplace manual however to see how close a combustible can be. These stone panels are considered a combustible. Cheers,
What type of saw are you cutting it with? What is the panel made out of? Will a table saw work? Special blade?

I really like the color and look.
Can you share name of product and color ?
Thanks for teaching
Can you use this product to surround an electric fireplace?
What if you are installing the panels between a left and a right corner piece, where you have to make/cut the notched ends rather than straight cuts?
love your videos man, good to see the mistakes and tweaks, shows your the same as the rest of us :) good one !
Hi Shannon. I'm a big fan and follower. This is my first comment. Since your cuts behind the tv are hidden and so detailed, why wouldn't you just use a jigsaw on these? The round blades were hard to maneuver for you.
Absolutely you could
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....
Where can I purchase the product you are installing. I have looked everywhere and can not find it?
This guy is the man
Can I put this on a exterior wall with existing cedar siding and how do I join the 2 where they would meet ? Thanks
Nice project Shannon
Put Cat5 or Cat6 in for the TV! Should now be an automatic thing these days to have hardwired Internet for streaming. Just my opinion.
Box on RHS of TV mount plywood is chase for cable, internet, and a whole hose of other wires. Electrician has the wall outlet below the base counter top for easy access - no need to take TV off the wall to make connection.Owner.
If it's convenient sure, otherwise most TV's are wireless anyways.

Sorry if this is mentioned and i just don't see it, what is that product called and also do they have Corner boxes. Thx. nice product, good job!
Quality stone . I believe they had corners.
Love this....but are there no regulations regarding the materials used so close to a fire? I'm in the UK so things might be different here....
in some cases yes, there is no fire place in this install?
@@HouseImprovements aha....apologies, I thought there was. Dohhhh 😊

Can you please tell me what this product is and do you buy it in a kit? I need to do a wall about exactly the same size. Thanks.
Quality Stone is the brand name.
Thank you for the proper video
Cool product - didn't even know it existed.
Where can you buy? Thanks
Looks great!!! Do you have any videos on polishing concrete floors?
Sorry, no.
Is this product ok to use around a gas fireplace?
Where did you find the veneers? They are beautiful.
Great Video and realistic advice....No fluff
Can those be bent to go around say a round fire pit? Thank you for sharing.
I doubt it, unless it is a very large radius.
Can you tell us what brand of panel you used in this video?
Looks great and i like your ceiling too
set the torch on the drill so as to not to screw it in to tight
This stuff is foam so the torque does not really work for that.
Nice Work Shannon !!
Thanks Shannon great as always
Where can I get this product
Just curious, why didn't you back bevel the piece under the TV plywood and the top piece with a corresponding 45 degree piece of light trim work to offer backing where you've removed the poly from back beveling?

Should I remove the crown molding at the top of that wall or will it look fine with the faux stone butting up against the molding?

It likely will not look that great since the brick will stick into the room further then the wall did. These panels are around 1" thick I believe.
@@HouseImprovements Hey Shannon, what brand are these panels? I love the dark color.
Thanks for the video. Please, can you give us a link to buy this product in the United Kingdom
