- London commuters face chaos on Tuesday morning as a Tube strike takes place across the entire underground network until midnight.
The Central and District lines are operating at a reduced service. Central is now operating between White City and Ealing Broadway as well as West Ruislip, Liverpool Street and Loughton and between Newbury Park and Leytonstone via Woodford.
District is operating between Upminster and West Ham and between High Street Kensington and Wimbledon but there is no service on the rest of the line.
Last-ditch talks to avert the strike broke up after only 20 minutes on Monday and TfL said “severe disruption” was expected with a “high chance” of no Underground services. Londoners have been told to work from home if they can.
Direct talks between the RMT union and London Underground negotiators began with union sources suggesting a “political shift” from Mayor Sadiq Khan would be needed to “change the weather”.
Services will be running on London Overground, TfL Rail, DLR, London Trams and National Rail but services will be busier than usual.

Some bosses will still ask why are you late
Funny how TfL didn't suspend the Congestion Charge and parking restrictions during the strike. Just goes to show how much they love the average Joe.
Shameful strike! Give the jobs to those who want £50,000 per annum!
Why don't they fire all these useless people? They have a good salary and still want to go on strike???
I guarantee we can hire new employees for these positions!!
Final salary pension for these guys and not for the police or firefighter?
These guys get a final salary pension which even in the private sector is almost totally gone due to the costs
They put in 5% and TFL give about 33% to a pension - come on lads - all you do is walk around the tube!!!
We’ll police and firefighters can ‘strike’ too. They’d be taken seriously.
@@hc7092 firefighters yes police NO!!
Why do bankers get paid more than NHS nurse's? Chalk and cheese.
First world problems…
Round 2 on Thursday...🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😭
Final salary pensions have been abolished by most firms. A thing of the past.
Invariably, I will support workers going on strike but now the lines have been crossed. These lot have become more trouble than they're worth. The whole of London is being held to ransom with millions of pounds lost because of these spoiled brats. A complete overhaul is needed, automate all the trains and have a complete review of TFL personnel from the executive downward and while we're at it let's give the minister of transport a performance review as well as the esteemed Mayor Khan.
In short, I've had enough and sick and tired of the lot of them!
Time to hear the underground song.
I was 30min late to school.
Eventually London commuters will get it right but it will likely take a little bit more practice. It's important that these alternative arrangement exercises are carried out periodically.
Running to the bank literally are these train drivers when they are not striking . The long suffering commuter paying inflation busting prices to support record breaking pay rises by unappreciative employees that think it is the god given right ! Boycott the tube service and oust the mayor that supports such a greedy and selfish employer , by then passing on costs to commuter and every Londoner , down with TFL i say !!!
This country and Europe is in such a state people killing etc and this lot worry about a fiver they need to get a life
Train drivers pay more than their fair amount tax to fund any war.
This ain't about a strike
Well done RMT members.....solidarity
when a driver cannot even buy the smallest house in town - time to strike for reality wages.
Yes agree but not when this world is on the brink of W W 3. That’s more important than worrying about a fiver
@Tom 60k a year of this worthless confetti they print from nothing is a child wage my friend. they need at least 120k to match 1989 pay rates.
@Tom i dont know why the government cannot just get the bank of england to 'print' more drivers right ?
@@michaelrejoinbradford1282 tell that to the utility companies. Hope you're looking forward to the increase in National Insurance come April.
@@Rawdil don’t pay national ins finished paying them 2 yrs ago And I made sure I have enough money in my retirement And don’t think this is the first time we have had bad times in this country , you was most probably still swimming in your dad when we did . So your not the only one who has had it bad
Up the workers!
DISCRACEFUL!!!! This strike feels so wrong when so many people are fighting for their homeland security in the Ukraine and fighting to protect their families. So many have lost everything.... shame on the strikers...
More than one thing can be of importance at once. Imagine that
Go to Ukraine & fight if you're so bothered!
Ukraine is no victim of anything. You watch too much TV
The People of Palestine have to figure how to survive in their occupied land day in day out. What is so special about Ukraine? Oh sorry! I forgot they have blonde hair and blue eyes!
@@othmanechahdi8289 so true
Tell that to the utility companies and mortgage lenders. Hope you're looking forward to the NI hike in April.
