Especially in regards to the dance audition. It’s 2 “judges” but a room of dancers, how are you even assessing them accurately? Dancing near/on one of the dancers but not the others…tacky. Like Tami said, letting the dancers know who you like and who you don’t in front of everyone is weird lol. Even when I auditioned/tried out for school performances or teams, the auditions were individual or had no more than 2-3 ppl at one time. And I don’t think judges are supposed to show favor, bias, or dislike for those who are auditioning so overtly
@@ceciliao4208 professional auditions can go either way but there are plenty of dance auditions that people dance in small groups like that and they call out the numbers they want to stay and see more of and they narrow it down until they have what they need.
I agree that most auditions should have an 8 count they learn and then perform in a smaller group. And then they could do individuals bringing backs the ones they want.

I’ve been on auditions when the casting director straight up called the agency for more dancers while I was still dancing. I’ve been on auditions where the director told me in my face, “why are you dancing like a white girl. You’re not white.” I’ve been on auditions where they said “we’re going to need someone sexier”. And you know what, it didn’t phase me because that’s the nature of the beast and at the end of the day, their opinion meant nothing. I just stepped up my game. I would rather know that upfront than sit by the phone hoping.

Especially in regards to the dance audition. It’s 2 “judges” but a room of dancers, how are you even assessing them accurately? Dancing near/on one of the dancers but not the others…tacky. Like Tami said, letting the dancers know who you like and who you don’t in front of everyone is weird lol. Even when I auditioned/tried out for school performances or teams, the auditions were individual or had no more than 2-3 ppl at one time. And I don’t think judges are supposed to show favor, bias, or dislike for those who are auditioning so overtly
@@ceciliao4208 professional auditions can go either way but there are plenty of dance auditions that people dance in small groups like that and they call out the numbers they want to stay and see more of and they narrow it down until they have what they need.

I’ve been on auditions when the casting director straight up called the agency for more dancers while I was still dancing. I’ve been on auditions where the director told me in my face, “why are you dancing like a white girl. You’re not white.” I’ve been on auditions where they said “we’re going to need someone sexier”. And you know what, it didn’t phase me because that’s the nature of the beast and at the end of the day, their opinion meant nothing. I just stepped up my game. I would rather know that upfront than sit by the phone hoping.

I kind of don’t agree with them making Duffy leave because Tami wouldn’t be able to control herself around her.
