I don't think anyone is going to condemn you for not owning the boat outright. You're an adventurer. You climb mountains and then ski down them. You sail the Arctic. You solve problems and then share those solutions with the rest of us. Your channel is awesome and so are you. Keep it up. You are much admired, and appreciated.

I am very happy to see that Arktika will be back in the water, as previous owner has made many interesting voyages and photos. I know the new "owner" will likely do the same! You are the right person for that boat! It has so much potential. I am genuinely happy to see it go to an admirable sailor who can use it to do what it was meant to do.
Also enjoyed your tour of the boat. META makes some great (famous for expedition boats) boats, and it is a great pedigree. Boat's like that deserve an owner who will use it to the full potential it has. I can imagine you will be doing some "expedition" type sailing, and your crew will be lucky to be aboard it with you. I hope you will do the Northwest Passage in it someday and show us your voyage in video. I am subscribed and always enjoy your videos. Fair winds (and plenty of fuel)!

How exciting for you! I will be watching your progress with anticipation. Being an old fart, I'm wary of aluminium hulls (my yacht was wooden), but I suppose that there are now modern methods to counter corrosion issues. Decades ago I saw some very bad damage caused by just a small amount of copper wire whiskers sitting in the bilge of a French aluminium yacht for a year or so. Any exposed aluminium on the hull becomes a "sacrificial anode", so a small scratch or ding can lead to big problems, as can stray currents from the electrics. But I'm sure you are well aware and on top of it!

We got exactly the opposite in boat philosophy, I just got a new yacht everything in carbon, slick, fast and very sexy, you got a battle ship ready for Greenland. My boat would not last a day in Arctic and my crew complain if the temperature gets below 20C. I Love yachts that are build for purpose and your yacht is certainly that. Amazing piece of kit absolutely love it, can’t wait for more of your adventures. By having twin engine with the props apart will give you great manoeuvrability.. . You will be able to turn on a 10 cent piece… I haven’t got big balls to do what you do, but I can live your adventure through your channel. 👍😄

Anyone with a boat knows we just look after it and are custodian until it is sold or passed onto the next owner. A lot to learn no doubt about the systems and how she manoeuvres under power but I’m sure you will be fine, slow and steady wins the race. She is in amazing shape for a boat left for three years. Thats a briliant plan, i love it. Its so realistic and economic. Instead of buying a boat and selling it 3 years later with unknown loss and a lot of trouble just lease it for the time you need it, much better! I wonder why not more people do that, so much better than being stuck on the same boat for 20 years while it doesnt fit your plans after the first 3 years anyway.

    Congratulations to this great yacht!
... a very robust design with redundant rudder or motor
    ... and very, very comfortable
... you can sail well and live in the far north.
Best regards Werner from southern Germany
