DIY Style Makeover: Ultra Feminine to Grunge Rocker Chick

- This video documents my halloween transformation from my normal self, ultra feminine, no tattoos, peircings etc, to this super hardcore rocker/grunge chick.
I'd been wanting to do this transformation for years. I hope its enjoyable :)
Fun fact: I had to edit this video TWICE! The first time my editing app glitched and deleted 8 hours of work!
Anyway this video is definitely a "fluff" entertainment video, not much substance I know. I wanted to just make a light, fun (hopefully funny), entertaining video.
However that doesn't mean I'm unaware or impervious to all the horrible things happening in the world right now. But I think it can do us all some good to not focus all the time on the negative.

well, well, if I were your personal stylist I would advise you to change the red lipstick for a black or purple one. I would also replace the squared red skirt by a black or brown leather one. You are such a pretty lady. You might as well face the hard truth. You are a beautiful and talented lady. If that makes you feel different so be it. There is nothing wrong with you. When you feel comfortable in your own skin you will radiate it to others. I have always been a loner but by choice. Enjoy life and let it unfold naturally. It takes a lot of courage to say some of the things you say and I find that a special trait.

COOL BEANS! Yass!! Yeah, creativity is a time-warp in whatever form it takes, is very easy to be overlooked, the amount of time and effort that goes into creating something. I can feel the effort you’ve gone to here - the narration in recent vids is also a nice touch that hasn’t gone unnoticed! 💖🙏

@@myrawest maybe it took some time and a chunk of effort, but how do you feel about the outcome? The alter-ego idea I think is a stroke of genius, especially with the direct limitations/reasoning “not this, but this...”. Also, do you find that the more effort in, the better and more focused you feel thereafter? I used to compose for hours on end and, depending how inspired/productive/accepting I was of the work done, I’d produce about 30-40 seconds of music by writing note-for-not what I heard in my mind, and afterwards my whole head felt amazing (which is why I asked this question! 😂)!
It looks like you had a lot of fun doing this. Halloween has always been a favorite holiday for me, I’m glad you finally got to experience it, it’s never too late to enjoy Halloween! 👻

Myra, you are simply awesome! Excellent camera cuts, too. Halloween and acting of any type is an excellent way for people with anxiety (and people who are generally shy)!to show other parts of themselves they usually keep hidden from the world. I teach Shakepeare to 4th graders (for eight years!) and my best actors are always the quiet boys and girls who otherwise don't stand out much. It's fantastic! As the amazing actor, Meryl Streep, once said "Acting is not about being someone different. It's about finding the similarities in what is on the surface different, then finding yourself in deep within that "new" character". Keep being you, Maya!

Just WOW! I've watched a few of your videos now and you're an amazing person. I'm a little envious of you, you're just beginning you're journey in life and you seem to be doing amazingly well ! I'm old now, (sort of) and at 53 I'm well down my own path now. Many wise people have shared the advice to take the path less traveled, and it can be good advice, you see many more things that fewer people have seen or experienced, but, MY advice to you is this, forget the traveled paths, forge your own path and let others follow you !
One time in high school I dressed as the extreme of each fashion style each day for a week. It was SOOO fun and everyone actually got a kick out of it.
Just keep making videos, about anything. You come across as being so real, so genuine. Be happy! It's never to late to be a child!

That's awesome, the tacks omg I suggest maybe using pyramid studs next time ( less likely to fall and look overall more rocker/punk ) and easier to secure. The custom shirt was a nice touch to what you were going for. Make up was really good even though I have no clue about women make up but it does remind me of how my goth friend does hers. Omg the blue green paint had me laughing. That's awesome you had fun making your own unique costume, so genuine. Any who awesome video 😊

I chuckled at the end, because my affirmation and encouragement might very well have been “You look hot!” As I’m tired from mixing concrete in a wheel barrow all day. Thanks Myra. Your video about having no friends popped up on my feed and it resonated since my best friend for twenty years died about a year ago from cancer and I lost my other friend of twenty years recently due to our differences over current politics.
I looked at some other video of yours, and it is so true, you don't realize what you've lost until they're gone.

Love your energy and enthusiasm - it was a really nice transformation, its always nice to have little projects like this every so often. How did it feel to walk around in what could be defined as a different skin, did you feel any changes in the way you interacted with ppl and did you feel yourself getting more relaxed as the day progressed.

that should have been so fun!! haha. once a few years ago i also dressed myself as a rocker and put on a wig for a halloween party i went to (but it was nothing compared to all you did), i also walked in the streets like a heavy rocker to see how people reacted, it was so fun, everybody was looking at me, but the day after that i felt so ashamed 😂😂
also that dark/rocker look seriously looked amazing on you, you really rocked it!! /m/ /m/ (those are horns lol) you should try different looks in the future like you did here, i imagine that should be really fun!

For some reason RUclips has been recommending your old video. "I'm 21 & have no friends". I finally watched it & then decided to see if you had anything more recent. Personally I like the feminine look waaaaayyy better but you did a good job stepping out of your comfort zone. I'm curious what church you went to as a kid. I attended a church much the same when I was young.
I saw you on Instagram and you rock.... as you wanted to!!! But I love to see you in those dresses, you´re tall and look so elegant and sensuous...
