I wouldn't say, she betrayed that sect. They betrayed her first falling for that evil woman's lies. She did what was best for her. Leaving. Obviously, she wasn't safe if the evil thing was there. So why stay? The demon has more heart and common sense than that so-called sect. Claiming they want her to come back but they disrespect her and do not even believe her at the competition. As the demon said, the female lead treated that sect like family. But what did they do? Disdain, humiliate, beat, and treat her like she was nothing. Now they want to act like they care and be concerned about her? No! They had plenty of chances but they chose evil over her every time. As he told them, they did this. They caused her to leave and almost killed her for that evil thing.
Previously saw another version of this, FL was treated worse in that version and she severed her cultivation to leave her former sect (her hair turned white so if you see one with a white haired FL, it should be that version). Both versions are OK, but I preferred the other version because the storyline was surprisingly logical for a cultivation drama. I must say though, this FL is just soo pretty.
