Love the easter egg at the end. VB is a "go big or go home" kinda guy. This new purchase is no exception. I love it. The engine is legendary. Congrats, and thanks for another great video, pooping noises and all.
I’m about done with my Freightliner M2 2003 Ambulance. As a person with MS I decided to do what I can as version one and as time goes on make things better, but for now, I’m basically ready. I’ve got some things to finish, but I have everything. I am sync to install I have toilet I have an air conditioner I have a diesel heater I have a refrigerator, I have a oven and I have a futon which I think could be better but that’ll come in version two down the road. I wish you all the best with your endeavor and whenever I figure out how to send pictures in RUclips, I’d be happy to show you my CLIFFORD.
i fully expect you to come out talking about your new purchase of a full size Brink's armored truck. those things are even huger and are likely bullet proof.
Go with a lithium battery’s and I believe they are lighter and incredible run times. I would go with the largest inverters you can and run high draw appliances with out any issues
Very nice! Those engines are as common as fleas so getting work done on them is no problem. Probably most of the school buses in the US use that same front chassis and engine. Schools are cheap. They would not keep buying them if they broke down a lot. Nah. Instead, they run them for decades. Very durable.
10:40 Bob, I advise you to invest in batteries, and avoid running the engine on idle an entire night. Yes, these engines can run many hours on idle. Despite this, idling is never a good thing for internal combustion engines. Yes, there are power generators. But these engines are made to work some hours at idle, and not necessarily 8 hours straight. Especially, when Diesel engines have a Diesel particle filter attached. Those clog easily on idle, and they are quite expensive. Diesel particle filter regeneration is a band-aid, not a solution. Moreover, if for any reason, a system may fail during night, causing the engine to suffer, you will only notice in the morning. For example, if the cooling system fails, namely the water pump, you may have a wrecked engine in the morning; or the compressor for the air brakes fail, you can no longer get on your way in the morning. Additionally, a working truck may caught the attention of authorities. Nevertheless, you choose well with this truck! On the last video, I wondered just that: a Ford?! Why not an International? And here we are 😀 Cheers!
Nice! I work on these every day! I’m in south Jersey at VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialist, if you have any questions reach out to them , I’m looking forward to seeing what you do
i like the smaller drawer-type fridges or freezers. conventional takes up too much room. You can use Air for moving water. You get those Pepsi fountain tanks and fill them with water and use air pressure to make the water move vs electric water pumps. Everlanders on youtube has a cool system.
If you are going to let it idle alot, do yourself a huge favor and change the oil often, not just based on mileage. I repair diesels and have seen many wrecked engines due to this.
Frame 9:10 That middle compartment you have open looks deep but short. You might think about putting a pull out ( slider ) drawer in there. So you wouldn't have to stick your arm all the way to the back of the compartment to get something. You said maybe for clothes, wouldn't want to be having to reach to the back to get your socks. :~)
You should do some mild performance stuff. A tune, injectors, and possibly a turbo. They are a bit of slugs stock, espeically with a decent load. Theyvonly make like 300HP and like 750TQ. Get it up to about 500HP and 1000TQ, and that thing would move great, and you wouldnt be loosing any reliability, also do the common deletes, EGR, etc. Adding performance stuff on diesels often doesn't make them less fuel efficient, to a point. The engine alone weighs 1500lbs lol.
Also remove the DPF system along with the EGR. These will increase reliability. Every common issue with the DT466E/MaxxForce is from the emissions crap. I've heard you can actually disable the DPF and EGR, SCR, etc via certain tunes which remove that crap electronically.
Video Bob take and change all the red lights to amber lens and you can stop and help people when they are on the side of the road broke down and you have the lights to tell people to slow down
No CDL needed if the truck doesn’t have air brakes and it’s registered to 26,000 LBS or less . If the truck has ir brakes you only need to obtain the air brakes endorsement.
@@martymc92 Well actually even if the truck doesn’t have air brakes it still won’t require a CDL it just has to be under 26,000 pounds which I’m sure this truck is under 26,000 pounds now if it would’ve had needed a double axle then yeah but since it doesn’t he’s safe

And once the Ghostbusters firehouse opens you could Park it in there

VB, you should do the stripe in black with a gold outline.
That would make it a Video Bob vehicle.
Should definitely do a black stripe in place of the white.
You’re a madman! I love it.
Really awesome. You are always doing something different, it is really refreshing. I don’t know how you have time for it all.
I would take the stripe and change it to black just to make it you!

The good thing about not having a pass thru is greater security. If someone breaks into the cabin they don't have easy access to you stuff.
I don't think you are excited enough about it, Bob. Congrats!!!

Just change the electrical where you want the sink to GCFI they do it all the time in RV bathrooms
Would it not be more economical with an APU, just a thought.

Did you compare square or cubic footage between the 2 ambulances?
Do you need a CDL to drive it privately? I do mobile detailing and my 96 Ford Explorer is too small for my needs. I could do a lot with an ambulance.
