Rick, this was truly amazing. I got hooked on this repair like it was a fine detective story. Wow!. I can’t say I couldn’t have figured it out but I highly doubt it. I did not like the rounded look of that anti-reverse gear. I don’t think this reel is quite up to par in that respect. Also the way the gear shaft was loose was a problem. This was one of your best videos to date. It’s right up there with putting that aluminum foil on that oscillation gear post. I hope this repair holds up for a good while. You did an incredible job on a less than stellar reel. Great video! - Chris
Good stuff, I was given the exact same model reels fortunately I haven't had this problem yet!, was sort of thinking the last service personnel before le yourself may have lost a washer causing the excess playz unusual to have play like that, I don't know until I pull this one apart and service it, when I do ill be sure to update the amount of washers etc and I'll check in on the reverse cog locking pin
I’ve never seen an anti reverse bearing/clutch that size. If you could find one I guess you probably could but with such an inexpensive reel, it doesn’t make much sense to do it. For the money a conversion would cost, I’d just go with a better reel that has an AR clutch.
Nice to se the inside mechanism of this reel. I order a real just like this but the bigger brother, the DSSL 4000L, but I make the mistake ordering a Right Hand reel and I normally use Left Hand reels. Did you know if I can disassemble and assemble the reel to make it Left Hand? Thanks for sharing you knowledge.
Jose, sorry but that’s not possible with conventional baitcaster style reels. Left hand baitcasters are much harder to come by. Usually the last number of a left hand baitcaster’s model number is an odd number.

Thanks
That shaft looks loose Rick. I think your right on putting a thin washer to help tighten up the mat gap.
Thanks rick! But I’m not too confident with this reel since the anti-reverse started doing that.

Any chance you could swap out a bearing in this reel to the anti reverse style bearing and get rid of that pawl? Just thinking out loud

@@youngmartinsreels5314 amazing your fast feedback. I supose that I will have to start using my right hand to control my new reel. 😅
Thanks again 👍
I tried doing the same tho trying to keep it all intact too Rick.
Mario, did you bend the pawl to align it with gear or just reinstall it?
@@youngmartinsreels5314 it was out of place and put it back together.
