    Your tutorials are the equivalent of 5 indian ones. Seriously, I have watched a few of those and didn't get all this workflow until I spent 1min watching one of yours lol.

    Can you please explain use of different options in cavity scaling with visible difference for each option?

  • @AzatiPrime
    @AzatiPrime 5 лет назад +1

    Thank you for the explanation. Do you maybe know if it is possible to change the part (in your case the USB drive) afterwards when the cavity was made and without changing the cavity?

    ok so i've been trying to use the cavitate feature on some complex parts and it throws the error 'resulting model is empty' despite the fact i can see it is not and definitely coincides with the part i am cavitating. Would you know of any way to do this which would allow me to select a specific body in a part or perhaps a solution to this problem?

    • @goengineer
      @goengineer  Год назад

      It is hard to diagnose these sort of problems in a comments section because there are too many factors that might be involved. The best way forward would be to get with your VAR's technical support team to dig into the issue.

      @@goengineer OK I've had a fiddle with it, turns out the problem was with two identical bodies mated together (a pair of spheres I used to locate the parts) which I had left hidden.

    where do i find cavity in solidworks 2020?

    • @goengineer
      @goengineer  3 года назад

      The part that is going to have the cavity feature added to it needs to be inserted into an assembly. Once you are ready to perform the cavity function, right-click and edit the component. While in edit part mode, go to Insert in the menu, Features and Cavity.

    What heppens if the object is placed completely inside ? Does it have to be partly inside?

    • @ge2719
      @ge2719 4 года назад

      Thats what im wondering about too.
      What if you want to create a deep cavity that the drive slides down into.
      This just seems to act like a boolean and creates a 3d soave the object could exist in but not an actual cavity the object could be inserted i to

      @@ge2719 I think the combine->subtract is meant to do this.

    • @ge2719
      @ge2719 4 года назад

      @@rockndancenroll that just created a hole in the solid, doesn't create a way to slide the object into that hole.
      I found out fusion 360 cant do it, you need something like Autodesk Inventor, that has a "cut using 3d object" tool.
      Then you essentially push the object as deep into the block as you want it to channel out. You can even have the object rotate as it goes in, or follow a specific path. Haven't gotten a chance to test it yet though

    why did not you have an error when you moved the part? because that part is used to make a cavity

      The comments section is not a good place for that kind of trouble shooting. Please contact your VARS technical support team and they should be able to help you out
