Lycanthrope is a catch all for weres in general. Yes, we all know lycan means wolf, people just didn't want to come up with animal specific versions of it.
We now need a counter version of a lycanthrope character forgetting they are one and being forced to change. But their form becomes a cute animal version.
i remember a pitched character was a werewolf so dang convinced that the moon wasn't real, that he retained his old alignment and control of himself whenever he transformed.
Frost is actually bloody terrifying when he gets like this because...he is a tiger! A massive Siberian tiger! He doesn't need any extra attributes to be deadly!
