    Yeah I'd say star ruby. It does look correct to me, I think they are natural. Nothing too crazy on the value of the stones, it's a nice pink color but more red would be a bit higher value. Probably 75-100 extra in the stones I'd think just checking loose gem prices. Nice solid gold ring. I like the turquoise modernist bracelet, I've seen the mark and the piece before but I don't know the maker. They call them sleeping beauty turquoise, I get an Israel/Persian vibe from it. Should be worth like 60-125, prices are kind of all over. Thanks for sharing

    Great score. I just bought a bunch of gold from a local estate sale, I scored some pretty interesting pieces that are probably over 100 years old and i went to test out the purity of the gold and four pieces tested close to 22k. I was blown away by the craftsmanship the pieces had, That ring with the big purple colored stones is amazing, That's a keeper in my book. Thanks for sharing another great video.

    The ring with 3 rose colored stones are star sapphire, aka Linde star... The company that produce this actually cut the stars in the stone, cut was made from back side....The unique thing about them is how the star appears to move as you turn the ring...These were popular in the 60's --(this century)The stone was available in a different color for each birthday/month...The bigger the stone, the more the cost... In recent years, there have been crude imitations...The originals have increased in value, because there are only so many around...There is such a thing as natural star sapphire, the natural stars are more subtle & only glimpsed by moving the stone in strong sunlight ...Natural star sapphires also do not come a bunch of colors...I owned one that was black ...I would say your stars are what is known as rose colored, there is also a pale pink Linde star...

    We have a real old large link chain it has a 3 prong latch it says 18K but its not gold. I just don't understand why they would mark it gold for.

    • @treasurefinder2887
      @treasurefinder2887  5 лет назад +1

      Someone probably tried to scam another person at one point and sell it to them as gold to make some quick cash. I find a lot of fake stuff all the time thats marked 14k or 18k and is just junk. A lot of fake stuff out there. have to be carful when buying stuff. Thank you for watching :)

    My Mom had a HUGE star sapphire ring with a stone that looked very similar in color to the stones in your ring. My Dad gave her the ring in 1967 for their 20th anniversary. Dad worked part time for a custom jeweler who sold him the stone and setting at cost and it was VERY expensive even then. Another great haul!!!

      Thank you so much for letting me know all of that, I still am not sure if its a star ruby ring or a star pink sapphire ring, The stones look so similar to me ill have to take it someplace and have it looked at. Thank you for watching :)

    The rubies, if they are synthetic, would be Linde star sapphires. You can research that. But yours might be real, especially if they are not all exactly the same color. Linde stars were set in jewelry for the average consumer. In a custom made ring, it's not likely that they would be used. Get a UV flashlight (urine detector) - the rubies will fluoresce red. The brighter they are, the more likely they are synthetic. It's also can be used to "test" diamonds. Some diamonds will fluoresce
    a teal color. If you have a pavé ring, and some show up as teal, it's a diamond ring. If they all are the same color and reflect a purplish hue, it's a clue that they are not.
    Finally, make sure that the person who tells you about your rubies, knows their stuff. Most people would tell you right off the bat that they are Linde stars because there are a lot of them around and you see them all the time in both red and blue.

    That little gold pin with the amethyst is old (because of the clasp on the back) This vintage piece might be quite valuable because of its age and not just for gold content. Do you ever have some of your vintage pieces appraised?

    • @treasurefinder2887
      @treasurefinder2887  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah I agree its probably from the early 1900's if i had to guess. Im not going to scrap it you're defiantly right its worth more than gold value. No i never take stuff to get appraised because the appraisal sheets that the give you are so so so inaccurate, never even close to the real market value of jewelry. I see people on eBay all the time selling stuff with appraisal papers that say $1,500 on it and it sells for $400 or it will say $250 on it and it sells for $100. Thank you for watching :)

  • @meichelle2000
    @meichelle2000 4 года назад

    Your last ring is not rubies... Those are star sapphires and they're synthetic... But the gold is valuable. Also when you weigh them dont forget if you take them to a gold dealer, they will subtract the stone in the ring making the ring weigh less.. Still awesome find! Going to the last video of this series and am enjoying this greatly! Glad to see you were able to sell what you wanted.. Some of these pieces I myself would have kept, only because they will just go up in value over time :)

    That star sapphire ring is a woman's ring. It's too feminine for a man's hand. Men's star sapphire rings are usually blue or black and single stones, square or rectangular shaped. Nice haul, I love those older silver & turq pieces. That watch band is made in the Navajo style, where they create the setting around the stone as opposed to Zuni where they cut the stone to make the setting. (retired silversmith here.)
