I would recommend putting fiberglass on the back instead, it would require a lot less smoothing, and a lot less putty/ bondo. The end result wasn't bad though, I imagine there were probably a lot of highs/lows that the video didn't show very well. Overall, for the intent behind the repair, not bad, it's not intended to be a show car or anything. (also, to clarify, I also have a video on this type of work, I am not just shooting from the hip)
Mistakes: 1) first rough sand with high grit 40 around the hole (back & front) to make tooth for strong bonding 2) fibreglass put behind the broken hole with resin, probably 3 layers 3) use putty fibreglass or rough putty with hardener for front, no need a lot 4) sand it and touch up with fine putty and final sanding with 400-800 grit 5)primer and final paint
Clearly, this was not a show car. It was an electric rickshaw. Looks are secondary to functionality. And, getting it on the road asap is more important than making it flawless. Description of the video is how to repair fiberglass easily, not perfectly.
Fiberglass resin with cloth then wait for it to harden and then he used Fiberglass bondo, wait for it to dry then sand and then you use orinary bondo for small nics to fill in, sand that for final preb and any small nics you can fill in with glazing putty, sand that and then two part primer , wet sand it with 1000 grit and then 1500 grit. Now your ready for paint. After that now your ready for clearcoat several coats and buff out smooth to a mirror finish. Job well done...
Wow, what an uninspiring video. I suppose when he's probably earning less than $2 per hour and not given eye protection or an appropriate respirator etc, it shows somewhat in the video with the care factor overall. I wonder how many repairs he's expected to do an hour? Please don't use this as an instructional how-to video..
Wow! Was quick job but it won’t last for 100 miles. It will vibrate loose, lets hope it is never power washed! #1 no backing to the glass # 2 absolutely no cleaning with acetone whatsoever was shown or implied # 3 why waist so much resin? That stuff isn’t cheap like water from the faucet. #4 watch boatworkstoday, then evaluate your life choices.
My god...You never fill repair from the front...slightest knock even vibration will make this fall out in a short while. The whole thing has no support from behind, the front is rubbed away, so only the hole edge is holding it. Never rub down with hands...will leave pits and troughs..Always use a sanding block. Ha ha he masked the lamp and got over spray every where incl the wheel guard.. Hope it a free service he offers...i would not pay a dime for that bodge up.
I think you're being a bit over the top. He had a 2" overlap so it isn't going anywhere. He didn't sand away this overlap. He's obviously changed the contour compared to what was there before, but if this doesn't matter, then it's perfectly fine with the layup on the outside. You naturally wouldn't do this to a show car but it's a tuk tuk for crying out loud.

Mixed enough resin & filler to repair a battle ship, talk about waste !!!
Exactly what i was gonna write and this is a toxic material to the environment. The least people could do is use ONLY WHAT YOU NEED

Using your hand to block sand among other problems.
Why wouldn't you bend and fix a piece of plastic over the hole, then gel coat and fibreglass it from inside, then remove plastic.
Great video! It looked good!
I been fiberglassing for 4 years i would make him redo it properly in our shop
