Thank you for doing this. Her "contribution" to the original wasn't just annoying, her lyrics are in strong contrast to the rest of the song and to pretty much everything Maroon 5 ever did. I don't know who the idiot was who put her in, but I can only imagine it was a pathetic attempt to appeal to a different market so they could make a few more dollars. We don't need girls like her spoiling songs like this.

I think the biggest reason why it sounds better is because Cardi B's voice doesn't seem to "fit" with the tone of the song. Adam's voice is very smooth and classy, and trying to mix his voice with Cardi's tone doesn't seem to flow as nicely. And the rapping itself doesn't seem to fit into the song at all
