    i think as a flamethrower heavy, these tips really do help! I just play with the mesh shield instead because the charge always gets me gunned down. i can average about 15-20 kills a game and my only tip for other flamethrowers out there, please at least try the mesh shield.

    A few notes: non-primed pyro mines only deal 20% of explosion damage which is ~14 damage, but does good burn damage and leaves fire on the ground.
    And the tip to go straight in works mostly because kf charge and slam, though flame does an exceptionally great cleanup. Good explanation throught the video neverthereless

    finally someone explained how the flame particles actually work, even in a ton of other videos I'd not seen anyone explain if the flamethrower was hitscan or not, it having a slight delay explains why it felt like it was inconsistent against fast lights
    one question I do have is how do you do against really open spaces? one example would be alot of the vagas buildings, aside from slot machines and some decor there isn't alot of cover and quite alot of room for people to run away in, I assume the ideal scenario is not be in those areas but what do you do when you have to be?

      @saitamaonepunchman8176 when I absolutely have to be there to reach the enemy team, I try to stay out of their sight till I get closer. If they see me and want to attack me, I stay with my teammates so they can respond, or if I don’t have my teammates near me, I use dome shield but not on my toes, I throw it closer to the enemy who is facing me. So that way, I can still run without getting shot😂 If nothing works and they really push me, I just use panic button (charge) to reposition to a safer place

    It is absolutely the(charge and slam) heavys job to deal opening and massive damage when engaging in a fight. The teammates need to understand that hanging back a bit, supporting, and cleaning up is now their job.

    One more thing to know that is not that obvious is that the flamethrower flames work like an aoe, therefore you dont need direct line of sight with the enemy to deal damage. Example at 6:24

      yup, exactly. Also I forgot to mention, in some specific scenerios, using Flamethrower to "block" enemies' view also works. Because flamethrower attacks have travel time, you can attack straight at the enemy's face, then spam left and right to block their view. It can also work when your teammate is stealing the cashout, and there is 1 LH1 player alive, 30m away, trying to kill the guy who's stealing the cashout. You can spam flames towards him so he won't be able to see the target xd

    It's always great to see someone run an off meta built with great success. Would stunting your health regen with minor burn damage be the biggest drawback?

    Can you tell which specialization to use? I hear a lot of mesh shield and winch, but you seem to be using charge and slam. Which is the best in your opinion and why. I used flamethrower with winch before and it worked ok but I never tried mesh shield or charge and slam. What are your thoughts?

      @@radreyan5789 It’s a bit complicated… I like charge n slam and I used it for a very long time, so I implemented it to my playstyle, so it can work in competetive play. But I can’t just recommend everyone to play it because I can play it. In high rs, charge n slam is easily counterable and you really need to be experienced if you want it to work. Same with flamethrower. I think flamethrower is a huge underrated weapon, but still, you really need a lot of experience with it to make it useful in competetive play. Right now, mesh and winch is better in high ranks

      Flamethrower has so many counters and is out DPSd by every other weapon almost.

      @ not exactly true. If you look at TTK, maybe. And TTK doesn’t include burn damage. Combining pyro mines, rpg, charge and flames is one of the highest if not, the highest dps in the game when you also consider you are attacking multiple enemies at once. If you only look at TTK of a certain weapon, it’s higher than flamethrower. That’s why it might be confusing. When you play Shak-50, you can’t include pyro mines because it’s not a part of your attacking combo. And a weapon is only hitting 1 enemy at once. Hope this is useful❤️

    Great video on my fav weapon. I was hoping you would touch on its ability to hit through walls. A very sneaky strat to place pyro mines on a point, sit on the other side of a wall and flame through to trigger them.

    I'm curious if you know what the fire damage (dps) of Goo that is ignited. And does apply the same contact damage and afterburn damage as other pyro damage? It would be interesting if you could get the numbers. Because I have been trying out shooting the entire floor under a Cashout and igniting it when teams are in there. The fire damages through floor within a certain range.(Probably not the most viable full time strat. but could be fun to pull off every now and again for a clip.

      Pyro Mine is 25dmg/second and Pyro Grenade is 20dmg/second. Any burning grounds and goo should damage 20 per second (Burning effect stays at least for 3 seconds, so once ignited, it should deal at least 60 damage) But I will check it out and come back😂

      @@yogierogaming If the Pyro mine does 25 dps. Does 2 pyro mines do 50 dps? Or Pyro mine 25 + Pyro nade 20 = 45 dps? I'm not sure if it adds together, or just a flat 25 no matter how many are stacked.

      @gazzizi-t9n You can stack pyro mines to deal 2 explosion damage, but flames can't be stacked. No matter if you place 1,2 or 4 pyro mines (with a teammate) the burn damage will be the same, 25 dps.
      NOTE: Explosion is 79 damage per mine. So 2 pyro mines can instantly kill a light

      Burning goo continues the burn dmg, which otherwise would fizzle out 2-3 sec later, and further delays regen
      Would be awesome if it's the same burn as pyro nades

      @@sifon5495 the current state of lockbolt is not good enough to be played in competetive, but in the right hands, it can work fine. I just think it needs a little buff to be a valid choice right now

    The developers need to bring back the flamethrower from the OBT, it was great there. Or at least raise the range of the jet from 7 meters to 10-9 meters. As a player who has been playing this weapon since OBT, I demand it. It's weird that mines that do the same fire are stronger than a flamethrower jet. Yes mines have an explosion, but if you do not take it, and just burn under the mines, you will die faster than with a flamethrower, and the force of burning faster and more damage, where is the logic....Why a flamethrower doesn't burn the wooden houses of Kyoto map... The logic is also strange..
    Plus, the flamethrower logically shoots the same solution as in pyro grenades, so it should be as powerful as a pyro grenade, as well as a pyro mine. It should also leave a burning path. For example, if you burn a wall, it should burn for a while, until all the solution burns out, it would give new tactical chips + so it works in life. In general, I would like to see its developers finished properly, and not listen to the whining of L class about its imbosity, which was on OBT.

      @@RevonCrow well, although I like your suggestions they are too op… Even now, you can easily wipe an entire team with flamethrower in a good position. Burning walls would be too op and it would be bad for the game too. People would burn everywhere just to troll and the performance drops… I can’t even imagine😂 But yeah I expect a slight buff for flamethrower if they wanna make it officially playable in competetive play. You still can play it, but it needs toooooo much experience

    Love your playstyle.... But the major problem I always had are open maps and light players with dash.... Please show some gameplay against them and in open map.. 😊

      @@chobarjatt9368 yeah they can be tricky😂 In those scenerios I often try to stay inside houses to move to places, window to window, like in Monaco. But ofc it’s obviously so hard to play close range heavy against long range + dashing lights. U’re just in disadvantage and u need to play more careful. I stream from now and then, maybe you can catch some of my streams to see it live🔥❤️🥩🍖

      I'm not 100% sure but I think now, dome shield can block flamethrower... I tried to remember it but I'm not certain. I will check it out

      @@yogierogaming Thanks! Also, does the flame damage stack with the Pyro mine fire puddles? And does the afterburn stack with 2 Pyro mines and or Pryo mine + Flamethrower? Because sometimes it feels like afterburn does extra damage, and I can't quite put my finger on what causes this.

      @Spoodleee Yes pyro mine's burn damage and flamethrower's burn damage can be stacked. That is why it's so powerfull to throw it, detonate it on the enemy and keep attacking with flamethrower. You can get almost insant kills against lights and mediums

      @@whysatanwhy mesh is currently a better pick in competetive for 99.9% of the players but I think in order for me to play my playstyle, I just can’t use it… It’s muccchhh more safer to play mesh with flamethrower but I think you need to trust your teammates while playing mesh shield, am I right?

      @@yogierogaming flame is a support weapon . its best used for cc and defense . the finals is a team based game . cant get the most out of flame playing selfishly . might as well just play sa12 with a c4 to stall cashouts better and do higher dps . flame is a very team based weapon . and to get the most out of it , u must play it supportively with a solid team to do poke damage and clean up fights . charge and slam with pyro is fine dont get me wrong . but its limiting bc youre practically useless in poke

      @@SirFrosty84 because you can control specific areas with pyro mine and you need that as a slow heavy😂 the key here is control. The damage is not the only important thing in this playstyle

    Man the flamethrower needs a buff. Too little fuel, too little range, too slow flames, too little damage. Like cmon, at least one of those things should be improved. Most of the time I can't even kill a light on a 1v1 using it. I don't think having to use your class ability and gadgets every single fight to make a gun viable is the correct way.

      @@l.palacio9076 u can kill lights pretty fast if u aim correctly. But I get what u mean. It feels like it needs just a little more, but buffing flamethrower would be a big mistake, even though I want that too, I think it’s pretty balanced right now. Not too strong, not too bad, the best niche weapon ever
