Hey man I recently just copped a studio 40 and I'm sorry to ask a day before a gig I have but have you experimented with the pre and post line outputs? What are the differences between the pre and the post and how does it sound when using both?
Post output is the signal after the amp and effects. That’s the one you’ll want live. The pre is for a clean signal usually for when recording and you can use both for two different tracks when recording for a nice mix.
@@nashvillebassist so if I were to put an effect on the pre signal before the preamp, another on the post, and record with the pre line out, would it record only the effect on the pre signal chain and the preamp?
You can utilise this as your preamp through your stage amp, I simply used an unbalanced xlr to ¼ cable from the studio 40 post DI into the instrument input on my 300W head, I also then use the EQ on my 300W head to tweek the final sound. As far as DI to the mixer you'll still have the pre DI from the Studio 40 aswell as what your larger amp has...maybe send a pre & post DI to the mixer to play with.
Can I use an XLR to 1/4 inch connector going directly into my focusrite? I'm trying to find out how to get the sound of this amp into garage band w/o using garageband amps.
I'm looking at getting this amp for a beginner bass player. Does it have any beats on board? If not can you bluetooth or line in some drum beats into it and simultaneously play bass through it (and use the effects)?
Hey man does the “pre” XLR output work as a clean DI, like can you record a clean DI through the pre output while simultaneously recording the built in effects out of the “post” output? Legend thanks for the video! 🤘🏻
What's the difference if I put my effects pre fx or post fx?...Is the sound or results different? Also how do you record your music?.Plug into the usb port from a Laptop/Pc and use software like Ableton,Logic, pro tools etc?
The sound can be different if you put a typical post effect like reverb or delay as a pre effect. Experiment and see 👍🏻 I typically use the usb output into my Mac with GarageBand.
@@nashvillebassist Cheers..I've experimented a lot.. Lots of fun.. however I'm thinking of getting a couple of external effects pedals like the boss DD and MD 200 for even more variety..
Interesting video. Thanks for posting it. Note that there has been a firmware update since this video was made that adds support for the Fender GTX-7 footswitch, which is MUCH more useful for controlling the Studio 40 and Stage 800, in addition to the Mustang guitar amp. This video is for the Mustang amp, but is directly applicable to the Fender Rumble modelling amps. I don't know if the LT25 supports it, but I have one for my Studio 40 and it works great. ruclips.net/video/jafzFNiasxI/видео.htmlsi=adFB9tcJe3lqBP-i
im still using my studio 40,i dont really use the effects in it except the distortion and fuzz pedals,,,I have a 17 pedal pedalboard now..including stereo pedals..I mostly do ambient music so the stereo effects loop is wonderfull...

It is a great amp got beautiful tone and effects, I like this amp a lot.
thank you for the thorough review

That should work. Make sure to use the post out from the amp and not the pre out. Use a regular audio track in GarageBand.
@@nashvillebassist Thank you for the video, too. That amp is so powerful. I feel overwhelmed trying to learn everything. Blessings to you!
I know this may be too late, but I use the USB from the back of the amp straight to my mac and it works without issues.

Only amp modeling/effects but you can Bluetooth or aux in music to play along with.
@@nashvillebassist how are the backing track coming out of the amp though? i assume twitter included in the amp would cover the higher frequency?

Yes, it works as a clean DI. I haven’t tried them both at the same time, but I would assume that would work. 👍🏻
@@nashvillebassist thanks!
Is this amp loud enough to practice with a band?
A 3-piece possibly
@@nashvillebassist I guess I’ll have to fire someone.
“You’re out bro”
The 25 watt one is not wifi equipped and won’t work with the Fender Tone app, FYI.

Can you add multiple distortions to an effects chain?
Yes
have you played it live yet? if so how was it? wondering if this would be a good one to do some gigs with
I haven’t had a chance yet. Had shows lined up but then pandemic 😷.
Should be okay for small shows 100 or less people.

Zzzzzzz....
Don't wake up.
