Would you recommend this bag to someone who frequently travels by air? I’m concerned about its size and weight. While the dimensions might meet FAA guidelines, the bag's weight of over 2.5 kilos is a significant concern, especially since most airlines have a limit of 6-8 kilos.
Proper review! all the info needed. I was thinking about the price too... But well, you can have your gear safe on each of your trips for many years so, after all, it's only the initial price which is high but the value is enormous. I'll be getting mine soon. Thanks a million for your help.
I love this bag. Holds all of my gear, except my 600 mm. Two camera bodies, four lenses including a 100-500 mm, large powerbank, Rode shotgun mic, batteries & charger, 3 large filters, 2 Pelican cases for memory cards, my MacBook Pro, keyboard and mouse, etc. etc. Tough as nails and safe with travel combination locks. I've taken it to Mexico, Canada, French Polynesia, Peru, the Galápagos, and more.
Hi. I've been told on Amazon that this 450 AW II bag will easily fit a 600mm and 300mm lens with room to spare. I'm looking for something to fit my Sigma 150-600mm lens into
Great review enjoyed it. I just purchased this backpack. Have out grown my other backpacks. Wanted some thing was more configurable and the fact that it has all of the Molle webbing on the outside opens up so many more options for additional storage. I purchase a admin pouch for mine which will hold all the bits and things I need for Macro photography. Now I can get to them without having open the backpack up.
hey...im planning on getting lowepro protactic bp 350 aw ii and i use Nikon D750 with 200 to 500mm...do u think d750 with 200 500mm attached would fit in that bag?
Watch out for one issue that came up for me. These very nice and useful 'fuzzy' interiors can shed fibers. The night before a big architectural job I cleaned my camera sensor. When I began setting up the next morning I changed lenses. Apparently a fiber strand got inside my cam body and I was not aware. Every file I shot that day had a big blurry fiber I had to retouch out, and it wasn't easy. I'm about 95% sure it came from the camera bag interior. So I check the sensor several time throughout an assignment now. A smooth material would be better for these bag interiors.
Nice review. Have had the bag for years and love it. One slight flaw though: due to the fact it is somewhat "rounded", the depth on the sides is not as deep as in the middle; you don't get the 16 cm there.
I had one for years theyre tough , but got the temba axis 32l . To fit a 200-500 nikon on a gripped d850 , i like the zipped opening , saves wearing dirt on your back
wish i could find a "messanger bag" like this.. I dont like having stuff on my back for ages, and the ease of just fiddling with stuff at waist hight when i need something is great !
hey man...im planning on getting lowepro protactic bp 350 aw ii and i use Nikon D750 with 200 to 500mm...do u think d750 with 200 500mm attached would fit in that bag?
Could you fit a Sony FF w/a 200-600 mounted in the pack? Also, if you have the 100-400 on - as you do in your video - can it fit a second body with a standard or wide lens?
How can the side pockets and the top camera extraction pocket be safe? There is not the same security as the rear zip on the back....some attacker "could" get their hands there without us realizing
I was wondering - you showed a bag for your water bottle, a pocket for the tripod, and straps for the tripod. Are these included with the backpack? Can you be clear about what is included with the backpack. Obviously all the dividers are - the heavier waist belt? Just trying to understand as I consider yet another bag for my collection, having recently invested in some gear needing a different bag than the ones I already have. TIA.
I am 173 cm tall and the waist belt is slightly above my hips, so it is perfect for me. Since you are much shorter, I wouldn't recommend getting the backpack if you want to use it fully.
Can someone please measure the laptop compartment depth? I have a slightly larger notebook that exceeds the "nominal" dimensions stated by Lowepro and I'm not sure whether it will fit. Thanks
Without the camera body attached, yes, but only barely. Not room for anything else. It’s bad enough that I’ve already sold this bag and bought a different one because it simply didn’t feel safe to store the 500 in there.
@@Justin-kc5nb No problem! I got the MindShift BackLight 36l. Can fit both lenses and camera body in the main compartment and everything else in the secondary compartment.
Very nice review :) However, English is not my first language, so I would have two advices: please try to avoid "you know" adding as these disturb the listening, and please try to speak a little bit slower :) Overall I like this review :)
I've had mine for about a year and it's sensational. Fits my MacBook Pro 16" as well - snug but can fit in there..

Great video my man, helped a lot when choosing. Think your the only RUclipsr to show an on-back video
Fantastic Review. After watching a bunch of different ones, this is by far the most detailed... helped me confirm my purchase. Subbed!
Excellent Review my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Been looking for a lot of reviews on this bag, this video was helpful to me than the other lot.
Glad it was helpful for you!
Thanks a lot for the tips. They definitely helped me out deciding by this backpack among other models. See ya, blue skies !!!
No problem, glad I could help! It’s a great pack. Thanks for watching 👍
Just bought the Lowepro ProTactic BP 300 AW. Love how tough it is. And so comfy! 👋🇨🇦

Great review man! Love the outdoor set that you reviewed this backpack. Quite refreshing from the normal office/studio setting
Thanks, I appreciate that! Glad you liked it!

That's good to know. I use the shutter mechanism to shield the sensor in my A7 IV. A very nifty feature for storage.
Great tip, thank you!

Satisfied with the Tenba? Was looking at that one...
Is it deep enough to hold a DSLR with battery grip? This is where I see a problem with most camera bags.

Awesome review mate. Keep up the great work :)

@@wattswildlifephoto very helpful mate! Keep doing your thing :)
hey if possible can u do a video with the 350 version but with the same gears and setup...i just wanted to know the size difference.
I ordered one because of this video! Greate job on selling it to me :)
I have this and the 350 and love both

Does this also allow a 500mm with body attached to be stored?
Really great video man!! I’m definitely getting this bag now! You got a new subscriber here!!
Thanks so much, glad you found the video helpful!!
thanks, nice review.
Nice review buddy 👍
Thank you 🙏
Nice thank you. There is a BP version, (LowePro ProTactic BP 450 AW II) could you tell me what is the difference?
Thanks! This actually is the BP version. I know there’s a smaller size, but I’m not sure of any other versions.
Well done, nice close ups.
Thanks 🙏

Yes, all of that stuff is included with with backpack. Sorry, should’ve mentioned that in the video. Hope this helps.
@@wattswildlifephoto Thanks.
Tripod model?
I'm quite short, 5'4" to be exact. Do you think the 450AW is too big for me?
It is a decently big backpack, unless you need the space for a big telephoto or something like that I’d say get something a little smaller.
I am 173 cm tall and the waist belt is slightly above my hips, so it is perfect for me. Since you are much shorter, I wouldn't recommend getting the backpack if you want to use it fully.
You have the link for this selling for $199.99? Thank you
très bien merci ;-)

I have had a 17'' laptop in it. It does cramp the amount of gear that I felt I could safely carry though. Fear of damaging computer*.
Good job.
Did you know you can reverse that lens hood and keep it on the lens in the bag?
Yes, unfortunately with the way this bag is shaped it makes the lens too wide to fit properly if you do that.
Does this fit your new 500 and 100-400?
Without the camera body attached, yes, but only barely. Not room for anything else. It’s bad enough that I’ve already sold this bag and bought a different one because it simply didn’t feel safe to store the 500 in there.

Where is your food, survival gear, tent and sleeping bag, or is this just for day trips?
01:01 If there's a tripod hanging on the side of your backpack, then it screams it's a camera bag.
you can get it on aliexpress for cheap

Cant believe you trust that tripod for that lens
