Just found out that Sir Richard Cromwell is my 12th great grandfather through his daughter Joan Cromwell, so I guess I'm also related to Oliver and Thomas Cromwell-fascinating. I used to live in Huntingdon and went to the museum on a school trip. Still remember it.

I'm also related to the Cromwell family ❗ But I live in the United States,🇺🇲 but all of my family came to America when it was under British rule! We came and helped to start the new world! However my deep family roots are in England and I know l have a lot of family in England, I sadly don't know.

Very interesting, researching the village of Dengie in Essex, the Church there St James it turns out was part owned or perhaps a Patonage by a R Cromwell, now not far away at Maldon as I understand it Cromwells fleet was built, any idea if this could be Richard Cromwell his son or am I guessing? Thanks

Did you know that Trotsky wrote, "it can be with some justice said that Lenin is the proletarian twentieth-century Cromwell?"

Strangely enough my teacher used the 2 events and the 2 key figures for my Russian Revolution class and did the similarities on each of them

Stuart mentioned tat Oliver's grandmother, lady Sarah Cromwell had supposedly died from witchcraft, the subject of the infamous Witches of Warboys episode. The Maor House in Warboys where the alleged events took place is still a private home - but electriccity and plumbing have been installed!

wait if Oliver was descended from Thomas’s sister who became a Williams, then how did Oliver’s line retain the surname Cromwell? (edit: woops! nevermind, sorry. I commented before listening to the whole video.) Interesting!

Canadian here...looks like Sir Oliver is my 9th Great-Grandfather through his daughter Bridget and her husband Henry Ireton and their daughter Elizabeth Ireton and her husband Thomas Polhill..just got to wait for Ancestry DNA to match with the paper trail now.

There also related to me, but I'm wondering why they have a museum, not all families have a museum. I'm in the States, but so much of my family is in England!
