We had everything prepared vaccine cards, passport, negative covid test and completed the ArriveCAN requirements to be exempt from quarantine. But he didn’t ask for proof of the ArriveCan completed, which I found kind of concerning. Considering they were gonna be strict at the border. All In all had no problems, maybe it depends on the officer. 🤷🏽♀️

@@theRTWguys I understand that I’m asking if the agent just looked at the cards or if they typed the card number into some kind of database when you got to the border?
The requirement is to be fully vaccinated. I assume they could let you in, but they will require some kind of quarantining time. I would just wait until 14 day lapse to be fully vaccinated.

How much does it cost for a PCR test in Canada for Americans who are returning back to US? I'm assuming not free since US insurance not covered over there?
All you should need is to be fully vaccinated. Opening the borders, but requiring a test isn’t going to help the border towns. Most people aren’t going to get a test just to go over for the day or weekend.
That was great information can you also make a video about when you enter back into America, do we need a negative covid test to come back. I read somewhere that you do not need a negative covid test to come back. And also the covid test are too expensive in Canada. How much did you pay for the test at CVS.
No, the rule has changed since we crossed back in July. They may have randomly select travelers to do it at home, but generally speaking, it won't be needed.
Pardon my ignorance if someone already asked this question, was the second (PCR?) covid test that you guys had to complete (@13:59 in the video) free or was there a cost for that test? (I guess it was given to you by the Canadian Customs Officer, at the border?).
When we crossed in July, everybody has to do the DIY test kit within 24hrs at home. In August, when the border opened up for fully vaccinated Americans, these tests are only given randomly to visitors.
Can you clarify what the crossing guard said about quarantine? I couldn't understand clearly. Thanks! My concern is I'll be traveling with and staying in my self-contained travel trailer. Would like to know if need be I can just quarantine in my TT until I get back home.
You may want to go the official Canada Border Agency page for the latest rule. If you are fully vaccinated Canadian or American citizen, or Permanent Resident, and be able to provide a negative COVID PCR test result, you are not required to quarantine.
However, somehow, if you are STILL not vaccinated and essentially must be going to Canada, you will need to quarantine for 14 days and perhaps being tested everyday, and your TT would satisfy the requirements. You can present the quarantining plan in your TT if they ask - our camper van would have been a good quarantining plan and the border agent did ask.

Our results came out within 24hrs - since we crossed in July, the Canada Border Agency issued new rules that the additional tests were given randomly at travelers, so not everybody will have to do it. But yes, they will be able to pick it up from any hotels.
If I am randomly selected for a Covid test at point of entry even tho i am exempt from the quarantine and negative pcr test to I have to quarantine until I get my negative results (or were you able to continue on after you submitted the test kit for pick up)
I believe you will be able to continue on with the kit without quarantining. When we crossed we had the DIY test kit that we did at home - watch our video till the end. If you are selected to do it, I'm sure the border agent will specifically instruct you to or not to quarantine.

Hi! My family is planning to go to Canada this Saturday. We are driving across the border as well. Do you think it is completely necessary to get a negative PCR test? Or do you think all 5 of us being fully vaccinated would be enough? Thanks !

Hi!! I am traveling to Canada for a wedding this upcoming week and I am really enjoying your content. I was wondering about the intital Covid test to cross the border - on their website it does not specify if you have to get the test within 72 hours of arrival or if you need to get a negative result within 72 hours of arrival. I am in a pickle due to lack of testing around me, and if it is get the results within 72 hours than I’m okay. Just looking for clarification based on your experience!
@@yolixs in short, no. If you're unvaccinated, then you won't be able to cross for a day for a concert. You would have to quarantine for 14 days before be able to go to the said concert, according to the Government Website.

No. But if you get randomly selected for an additional COVID test at the border and it comes back positive then you have to quarantine But since you get a test before the border and are vaccinated the chances are low

Your test has to be no older than 72hrs from the time you're entering Canada. You can take the test on the 6th, however there's no guarantee that you'll get the results on the 7th.
There's no minimum days to stay, however, be prepared just in case you'll need to quarantine. Check out the Canada Border Agency official page for requirements.
@@aurysiako2945 There isn't any minimum requirement - so I would say yes, assuming that you are fully vaccinated and be able to present the border official with 72hr Negative COVID test.

It's because recently, the unmarked graves of over 1200 indigenous children (and there are probably a lot more) we're discovered at what were once Canadian Residential Schools. Basically, these children were taken from their families by the government and placed in these Catholic schools to have every trace of their native heritage "educated" out of them. It's horrifying. And the numbers will probably be far higher when everything is discovered - if it ever is.

@@theRTWguys what is the cost of obtaining a covid test in the US and if they give you one at the border?
When you get to the border they may make you do a second test it's a random selection
Did you get vaccinated? I don't want to get vaccinated. I recently travled to Eastern Europe and Have not Gotten Covid. If I pass my Covid-19 Test, Can I still enter via car?
Doubt it. You will need a lot of convincing to do for the border agent.
Good luck and keep us updated.
I plan on flying to Montreal soon solo for 3days, how long did it take for your PCR results to comeback? Also I’ll be staying in a hotel , I wonder if the courier service will pick up my test from there? This video was extremely informative, I love you both and your dog!
Thanks for sharing.
Lol poor Kanya. I didn't think cbd would be a problem. Halef is totally blending in with the locals 🤣 Did the Uturn guy get a fine??? That's a hectic medical process
They wrote down the licence plate number and relayed it to the US side
Yay! Trying to get into Canada soon to see family and concerned about the turn around time for the PCR test. How was that for you all? When did you take the test and when did you get the results? Have a great time in Canada!
The border crossing has to be done within 72 hours after doing your test - we included the timeline on our video to give you the perspective.
@@theRTWguys oh didn’t see that - awesome! That was speedy and hopefully the same here. Have a great time!
You too, and good luck! Seems like CVS does a great job in giving the result back in about 24hrs.

Y'all are wholesome, subbed. (: Planning on going to LA from Canada in the next month.
Thank you!
Have fun in Canada 🇨🇦
Whereabout are you heading to?
Hi! My family is planning to go to Canada this Saturday. We are driving across the border as well. Do you think it is completely necessary to get a negative PCR test? Or do you think all 5 of us being fully vaccinated would be enough? Thanks !
They require negative test within 72 hours before arriving. Read their requirements thoroughly.
You will be denied entry if you don't have a negative test within the last 72 hours. Must be a molecular test like PCR or NAAT it CANNOT be a rapid antigen (15 minute) test
It's absolutely mandatory
Hi..my husband and i plan to go Niagara fall this Sunday..so what we need to do is covid test and fully vaccinated right? Thank a lot ❤
Yes, as well as the ArriveCAN app.
Good luck -
What info so I have to provide for a quarantine plan? How detailed does it have to be?
I would say prepare it to be as detailed as possible. Your goal is to satisfy the border official, and also to be able to execute it if needed.
Hi, I’m curious if I can travel to Vancouver from Toronto if I just have 1 dose. Do I need to quarantine?
It seems like you will be allowed to fly domestically if you're a Canadian citizen. Read the official rule of domestic flight here travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying
@@theRTWguys you can travel and you do not need PCR test or qrantien
Do you have to show proof of your accommodations to enter canada?
Yes
Hii I’m fully vaccinated I also got my COVID 19 test but when I try to check in ArriveCAN they asking me for my 14 days qrunatine plan I really need it ?
The short answer is yes, you will still need to have a quarantine plan. Just follow ArriveCAN app process and check out the official Canada Border Agency page for updates.
So it’s depends on officer I need to quarantine or not .
Because I have off from work only for 4 days
Hello. Thanks for the video. Do they actually check the vaccine card at the border? Or is it only verified through arrive can?
Somehow ours weren't verified through the ArriveCan app, so she had to physically see ours.
hey i thought i'd pop in again to ask another question to see if someone could answer, if i'm going to canada to visit my boyfriend, would I still need a declaration form or any kind of proof of our relationship if i'm fully vaccinated? it's a bit confusing to understand on the canada website!
It depends - I would say make sure you are ready to prove everything, if being asked. There isn't a specific rule for visiting boyfriend in Canada.
Enjoy family time. Safe travels
Will do ☺️
It's 72hrs test before crossing

@@yolixs read this www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/publications/diseases-conditions/unvaccinated-travellers-entering-canada-covid-19.html

hi, good video congrats =), which test did you take to travel, PCR test lab really?
Yes, PCR test from CVS 😀

I know!! 😂
Been wanting to visit Canada for so long but am still a bit confused. So you still have to self isolate for 14 days after entering the border before getting to really visit anywhere?
No, if you're fully vaccinated and can provide the negative COVID test no more than 72hrs at the Border.
No. But if you get randomly selected for an additional COVID test at the border and it comes back positive then you have to quarantine
But since you get a test before the border and are vaccinated the chances are low
What did you need for your dog to enter canada?
Rabies certification - but the border official never asked.
@@theRTWguys Thank you so much!
Hey there!! New to your channel and love this video!! It looks like you had a great time! I’m a US citizen and was thinking about booking a trip to see Niagara Falls in winter of 2022! This would be a short 5 day trip! Do you know of any rules about trip duration for just a leisurely trip! Are leisurely trips allowed during Covid-19 protocol?
Yes, fully vaccinated travelers can cross into Canada for leisure, and it doesn't make any difference whether you're visiting for short period of time or long - check out the official Canadian immigration page for details.
Hii I wanna ask u I put in arrive can app I’m arriving tomorrow at 10 at port of entry but I’m arriving 2 hour early is that ok or have to wait
If you could change/update the hours, I would do that -
I love canada!
😃🇨🇦
i am in canada right now for 5 days but i want to extend my days like 2 more days in canada will that be a problem?
Unless specifically mentioned by the border agent, US Citizens can stay in Canada up to 180 days. I think adding 2 more days won't be a problem.
Hello, we are planning to cross the border from Seattle on 9/7 - me and my friend have a different interpretation lol of the 72 hours . So I planning to take it today at 5 pm cause we are planning to cross before 5 PM - but she is saying we can take the PCR test on 9/6 too - can you help clarify lol - our plan of entering CaNada is on 9/7 5 pm .. when should we take our PCR test ? Love ur videos 😍
Your test has to be no older than 72hrs from the time you're entering Canada. You can take the test on the 6th, however there's no guarantee that you'll get the results on the 7th.
Great videos guys. What requirements did they have for your dog entering and exiting Canada?
They require current immunization and rabies paperwork, although nobody wanted to see ours when we crossed 😀
@@theRTWguys I read somewhere that since 2018 they don't require the physical proof just verbal confirmation
What a cute dog!
😀🐕🦺
Am I allowed to visit Canada for only a week or does it still have to be at least 15 days?
There's no minimum days to stay, however, be prepared just in case you'll need to quarantine.
Check out the Canada Border Agency official page for requirements.
Hi, did they require any paperwork for the dog to cross the border?
You'll need to provide the rabies vaccination proof with you, although they didn't ask us this time, but you surely want to have it if asked.
How do I find the port of entry 🤔 nyc to Montreal
Google map it to find your route and see the name of the first Canadian town you'll cross.
I just googled it and it seems like the most direct route will cross at Champlain-St. Bernard de Lacolle Border Crossing

Can I drive to Alaska without a vaccine
You will need to prepare yourself with a very convincing reason to drive through Canada, quarantining plan and plan B just in case you will need to be turned away from the border.
Just do yourself and the rest of population a favor: get vaccinated.
@@theRTWguys why does everyone want me to get this vaccine so bad and why does everyone think they can demand me to do so…. The reason is I have a job in Alaska and I’m moving there so without all the demands and condescension, can I drive through Canada to get there currently?
@@Rafungilo because it's the right thing to do.
@@theRTWguys explain why, it like saying “because I said so.” It’s easy to get people to do something that makes sense. So far no of this makes any sense. You’re just rule follower for the sake of being anti confrontational. I live in America where there are still choices to made by individuals. I’m not going to be made to take a shot that doesn’t prevent transmission. No one even asking, in fact it’s sooooo ironic that the sheep are making demands now
@@theRTWguys you don’t have reasons why you do things, you just have feelings. You feeeel like everyone should get it because you’ve been told to do it.

Yeah unfortunately it would be much easier to do pretty much EVERYTHING if you're vaccinated. Good luck and please consider having the vaccination that saves lives.
Why are all the flags at half staff?
It's because recently, the unmarked graves of over 1200 indigenous children (and there are probably a lot more) we're discovered at what were once Canadian Residential Schools. Basically, these children were taken from their families by the government and placed in these Catholic schools to have every trace of their native heritage "educated" out of them.
It's horrifying. And the numbers will probably be far higher when everything is discovered - if it ever is.
