His numbers since the Baltimore game haven’t changed as dramatically as most would indicate. His TDs AND INTs have gone down, but his YPG had gone up slightly despite way less YAC. The team as a whole is worse, and Brock is a part of the team. He’s not free of blame, but is far from the main problems
Yep. Went from 1st in YAC per completion to 28th. That translates to lack of TDs. Went from 1st in red zone TD percentage to 28th in red zone TD percentage. Don't think that's a coincidence.
Go look at all the drops his receivers have or give purdy minnesotas o line and receivers and we have multiple superbowls. Purdy beat out darnold last season dont forget it@juerfe

@@juerfe Jimmy G was only great for 1 season. 2019. Lombardi should know that. Every single quarterback needs great weapons because quarterbacks stats are shared with receivers. A quarterback can throw the most perfect pass, but it's not a completed pass if the receiver can't hang on to the ball. Can Brock do his part? Can he get the ball in the hands of the receivers consistently and accurately? If so, keep him! Get better weapons that can catch.
@@juerfe You say that with such certainty, but look at Detroit and your narrative falls apart. The Lions just extended Goff and are paying him 53 mil a year. They drafted Sewell and the rest of their line are free agent pick ups. Montgomery was a free agent pickup too. They drafted well, but not perfectly. They spent the #12 overall pick on Jameson Williams, who hasn't lived up to that billing. They got St. Brown in the 4th round. So, I don't see why the 49ers can't do something similar. People like you pretend like once they pay Brock, it'll be impossible to field a team capable of winning a Super Bowl, but the Lions are proof that it can be done. Yeah, let's keep speculating about not paying Brock, or swapping Brock for dogshit, Got to do wonders for Brock's confidence (there is no way he doesn't read or watch this stuff)
I did expect Darnold to be this good and publicly said so. Still, I’d druther Purdy, now and especially in the coming two years. He’s still got unused ceiling…and a prospective upgrade in offensive weapons in 2025
And it's crazy to think, Purdy still has a higher QBR than Patrick Mahomes this season. So, are the 49ers truly losing because of Purdy? Or maybe, just maybe, Purdy isn't the problem. Lol.
Very misleading. The QBR is overall numbers being crunched. The difference between Brock and Mahomes is the fact that Mahomes made HIS big plays when they needs it most. Brock didn’t.
Lol. How many games were won because the other team made mistakes? The Chiefs have gotten every break this year. On the other hand the 49ers lose because they beat themselves on the same amount as the Chiefs get breaks. The Chiefs also have a stellar defense whereas the 49ers have bottom of the barrel garbage this year.

You can go both.. because purdy is under contract this season bro. You could sign darnold and if purdy beats him out you trade darnold before season and sign purdy Both is brilliant actually
There are several reasons why it isn't brilliant. First off, Darnold isn't going to come back here to compete for a starting role if a team like the Saints or Giants will sign him to a long term deal, which I'd say is a good possibility after this year. Second, if the Niners did pay him a bunch of money for a 1 year deal to come and compete for Brock's job, it would cause discontent in the locker room and Brock would probably hold out and/or demand a trade. He won't want to play for the Niners if they do him like that. If the idea is to force Brock into another year of playing for peanuts, they should just trade Brock and sign Darnold to a multi-year contract.
The main issue with Brock that really only the Grant and Coach have talked about is his diminishing arm strength! Brock’s arm was not very good to begin but it was satisfactory. However now his deep balls and intermediate throws are now sailing and lofting up in the air. Is this because of Brock’s shoulder? Is it the elbow? Is this only temporary? Is this permanent? I’m sorry but with the question being “is is arm healthy” 49ers should not sign him, especially if he is this injury prone. I know the Oline is an issue and needs to be fixed. The thing is though his new shoulder injury was because of him scrambling. I know he likes to scramble but if he’s going to get injured every time he scrambles, 49ers should reconsider signing him to a big deal. We all saw they made with resigning CMC when he has bilateral Achilles tendinitis
I think part of it is Brock pressing and going for the big play more often, but I also think a lot of this is on Kyle. Kyle is the one who designs the plays, and this year, Brock has been in shotgun way more often that before. There are also other indicators that Kyle has changed the scheme to a more deep pass oriented offense. For example: This year, Purdy is 22nd in the league in play action pass attempts and 18th in passing attempts. Last year, he was 11th in the league in play action pass attempts 20th in pass attempts. The response to that might be "well, their run game isn't as good this year" but that isn't really true, especially earlier in the year. They are currently 6th in rush yards per attempt. Last year, they were 4th in rush yards per attempt. The threat of the rush is definitely still there, so the decline in pass action doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Play action has been one of Brock's best strengths. It lends to his excellent timing and quick processing. Kyle is deliberately calling plays where the primary target is further down the field, but he's not doing that out of play action as he so often did before.
I have an idea. Since the media and public are not signing the checks, why don’t we let the 49ers’ brass decide what Purdy gets paid. Anyway, it’s Purdy’s agent making the demands, not Brock Purdy. This hysteria is getting out of hand.
If I were Brock, I'd go for 35 or 40 million for 2 to 4 years, and if I play well enough, ask for the 50 to 60 million after that. I think that makes more sense. Also, if Brock asks for less, he can get more weapons around him and build a better reputation from which to earn more money in endorsements, etc. The bottom line is winning Super Bowls. That should be everyone's goal. 1-/ j_bda
Not a Darnold fan. I think Brock is fine. Unfortunately if the Niners don't draft well in the first round 60 million + for Brock will close the window.
I don’t think it’s fair to say Sam Darnold is elite, he has weapons in Justin Jefferson, Aaron Jones and Addison. Meanwhile Brock has no real deep threat that Shanahan is willing to trust to spread the field, Deebo is washed, and CMC has been ground to dust. I think Darnold would struggle too
Brock has played well. The offense receivers got hurt , didn’t play well. The o line sucks without Trent. Maybe getting away from Kyle is the answer. Personally I think Kyle is responsible. Won’t let him be him. Can’t even audible
