If you don't like it, don't use it. Daniel made an awesome thing and shared it for free, and the rest of us like it just fine! He doesn't need to cater to your personal preferences, you're not the main character of this story.

This scene will actually never happen in my campaign. In mine, the ghost of a murder victim entrusts the cards to Jeff Hoxton, the party wizard. The victim actually stole the cards from Madame Eva in her past. And now Eva is an angry witch who's out for Jeff's blood, and her cards back.
