I agree so much of what is being said. Mary was prepared from an early age and being Christ's cousin, with the Jewish custom of arranged marriage, they were promised to each other. This is the same Mary that is the sister to Martha and Lazarus, there were not that many Mary's in the same story but rather the same Mary but not Mother Mary. However, I don't believe Peter said any such thing against Mary...especially when so many of these texts have been manipulated throughout history by men and changed to support the male narrative. Peter was right there with Christ and loved and respected Christ therefore respected Mary being Christ beloved wife long before Peter even was in the picture. Christ wouldn't have put up with disrespect of his beloved wife Mary from any of his disciples. The adversary made sure many of these precious truths were lost so as to cause confusion, chaos and separation from each other and ultimately Christ and his true teachings. But truth is still found on the earth and His spirit can guide you to it if you seek with real intent and an open heart.

No. Mary did not cause a rift at all. Jesus loved and affirmed her and other women. His acting out of love and respect for women did not cause a rift. Men could not receive, understand or acknowledge the new way of living personified by Jesus. His love for women may have disgusted some men.

Marie Madeleine is the incarnation of divinity. In India we say Shiva-Shakti. They are one in reality. In the world view of most people, they are distinct and seperate. This is a gross error and we must transcend it to realize who we are, in Truth. Divinity is full, and true, unchangeable, blissful love and pure blazing Light, who was embodied in Jesus the Christ. The Truth, The Light and the Way. He and Mary are a wonderful path to Liberation, Salvation and entry into Eternal Life....our true potential and the very purpose of our precious life, here on EArth.
Peter was the one who started the campaign against Mary Magdalene that continued until the 4th century when her gospel and legacy was removed. She was described as a prostitute which she was NOT. It was only Levi who defended her, but he was squashed. Notice how no one names their kid Levi anymore, but the name Peter is everywhere. It also goes to show how Peter promoted himself and to what extreme.
The church knew and admitted that Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute in 1969 but by that time, it was far far far too late. Her name has been slandered for millenia. You still hear horrific preachers refer to her as a sinner everywhere today. They are not educated.
MM wasnt missing in the gospel. True feminine can not be told,.. Only experinced. It can never be talk about. Its a pity Woman took on this talking giberish ego made up while her Essence has a language we can all understand. Yet she chooses to withhold and make up stories that make no sense and deprive herself of Everything
You can ask MM to show you what she is and do not expect anything you know at all. It will a brand new thing. The true Love.
When a woman comes from the core of her being (no talking) and oozes her feeling essence she turns any man to a Christ. That’s all to it. He then SEE her and begins to see everything with Christ eyes. You can try to talk about it but living it is the way. The way of Mary.
Meggan says a number of things that are not historically accurate. She could have made her case well enough without the confabulations. One or two Epistles of Paul don't support equality of men and women so much and the Gospel of Philip (c. 180-280 CE) was much later than the Bible Gospels, or Gospel of Mary or Thomas. The early church writings going back to the second century never consider the Gospel of Mary, Thomas or Philip to be part of the accepted literature, while many others such as the Didache, Shepard of Hermas and Gospel of Barnabas are under consideration, among others. Tertullian wrote around 200 AD that the bishop who whote the Acts of Paul and Thelca was deposed from his position because of this. This was over 100 years before the church became politicized. It's just wild speculation and wishful thinking to say that these apocryphal gospels were widely accepted before 313 CE. Also, the view of the heart and mind were not as black and white as Meggan makes them out to be. Unfortunately, this makes her look like she has an axe to grind, the same as many truth-stretching Evangelical Christians.
This is not to mention how people who are so quick to conclude the Biblical Gospels do not represent the historical Jesus accurately, but run with everything in these apocryphal gospels uncritically and add speculations as well as confabulations like the divinity of Mary Magdalene to them uncritically.
