I just did this with a local band cd from like 14 years ago. It was scratched to crap, and after doing this, I could rip all the songs off and save them to my GoogleDrive. They sound just like when I bought the cd! This totally made my day!
This works for like small scratches, but not for scratches that are really bad, if you have a deep scratch and this didn't work try buying "Scratch Away" It helps alot. Thanks for the video.
Or toothpaste with rubbing alcohol and baking soda and mix it in a bowl and put it on the cd wait for 3 minutes then wipe off if eny access left of this "cream" u can take a wet paper towel and dry it and then wait 5 minutes before using the cd again 😁 hoped this helped for the people it didn't work even tho it obviously is gonna work but it's just in case of the you tubers method does not work btw good video👍🏼
It removes a few layers from the disk, in turn making the scratches more and more shallow as you go. Doesn't always work, and can sometimes make the disc completely unreadable by fogging it up entirely. Best bet: professional help.
Well i thought i would give it a try seeing that the alternative was buying a new one for R1000.00 and i am happy to say it works - my boys are happily playing their game again - don't knock it till you've tried it!!!
I'm not sure about this. He wipes along the grooves (i.e. not perpendicular to the grooves) which I've heard is a bad idea. I always thought you were supposed to wipe away from the centre of the disk. I would recommend people check a few sources first before trying this (I definitely would). I have some collectible CDs that are a little bit scratched. I think I would play it safe and get the scratches removed professionally, if the price was right. The scratches are pretty light from everyday use, so I imagine they could be removed pretty easily :).
when you are cleaning scratches like this you are removing the dirt and other things that the scratch pushed into the pockets of the disk, in order to get it out you must first get the toothpaste and peanut butter in there to get it. I have done this twice now and have not had problems with the disc since
I thought paper towel would scratch the CD. Could you explain what this does? What do these elements actually do? People to put all these different things on the disk, but never tell me WHY. It is just cleaning? Is it filling in scratches? Is it eating away a part of the plastic layer? It looks like someone sat around in their house, and decided to use their last bit of food to try and clean a disk. None of these things make sense.
I appreciate that it worked for some people... But I accidentally scratched my sister's Minecraft for XBOX 360 and I tried it, but it gave the disc more scratches.
Sandpaper, depending on the scratch just go up in grit. Soapy water and a light finger. Start at 1200 grit and got up to about 4000 or even 5000 grit then hit it with a poishing compound and a non abrasive cloth, mirco fiber is best. You will get a ok finish but the game will work. Don't get to close to the center ring on the data area. that's where the media starts. Blu-ray you need to be careful deep scratches can't be fixed. If you dig into it to much you will ruin it. Not to say I would actually do it this way. You talking about 30 minutes an hour depending how nice you want the disc to work. lol I'm an expert trust me. We use machines, but if you had to, I guess.
you say there is no scrates on it. but i see sratches al over it, ide like to se you mess up a dvd and redo this and then try it in the dvd player or something for proff
nvm I just figured out why the disk was working.......... I just put the disk in on the rong way. It still has many little scratches but works for like 5 hours then glitched out in the middle of me playing.
I think the entire point of this video was to make it look like you have Extra "shit" in your house and you wanna get rid of it. You have so much that you have to apply it on a CD and then wipe it off.
Has anyone ever try the magic cloth that gets rid of car scratches would that work. Those cheap disc cleaner things suck and dont work. Toothpaste works about as many times needed till you can watch it. But just wanna know if that car cloth works too.
if this doesn't fix San Andreas ima play that shit in real life
i was gonna fix the same game😂😂
+jordan barrand same here 😂😂😂
ha
did it work?
sameee mines is messed up

Look in the toilet when he's finished with his duty

Me,
GameStop Employee, "Why Does It Smell Like Toothpaste And Peanut Butter?"
I think the humor in this is that somebody got really stoned and mixed up their cd with Mountain Dew and peanut butter! LOL!
Thos doesn't work. Might as well sprinkle sugar on it and wish for a new disk.
lol

Car wax, the old fashion thick paste kind, or automotive scratch remover, and a dremmel type tool with buffing attachment. Viola!
I got a question why don't you test the disk on camera
True that
Or he could of switched the disc to a cleaner one
Yep
I FINALLY FOUND ONE! It's used but I've been playing it for a few days and im SO HAPPY!
Youve got to be joking me, btw the paper towels scratch it kore you need to use a microfiber cloth to dry it
more*
ikr lol
Crunchy or smooth?
I laughed so hard at this comment
xWallyHD™ you'll laugh harder if you use his prof. Pic as context to his comment xDDDDD
Ivan Santana lol
smooth.
What about putting baking soda all over the disc and squirting line on it?
Is it okay if I use regular soda instead of diet?
This works perfectly. Thank you so much. I was worried my tomba game was ruined.
It removes a few layers from the disk, in turn making the scratches more and more shallow as you go. Doesn't always work, and can sometimes make the disc completely unreadable by fogging it up entirely. Best bet: professional help.
I heard this doesn't work good
Well i thought i would give it a try seeing that the alternative was buying a new one for R1000.00 and i am happy to say it works - my boys are happily playing their game again - don't knock it till you've tried it!!!
I bought a microfiber cloth a year ago and it murdered the scratches
I'm not sure about this. He wipes along the grooves (i.e. not perpendicular to the grooves) which I've heard is a bad idea. I always thought you were supposed to wipe away from the centre of the disk. I would recommend people check a few sources first before trying this (I definitely would).

id rather just use toothpaste cuz im not sure about the baking soda, and the soda
I dont know what you guys have this helped me and it works
Paper towels are a bad isea, they themselves are not very soft and will scratch your disc, its best to use a microfiber cloth.
It worked for one disk but my dad said there was a machine for about 15 dollars and gets the scraches out for you but thank you
Did you ever think of being careful now my disk has a giant scratch in the middle circle
Hey, does another type of toothpaste like Tom's work instead of Colgate?
I thought paper towel would scratch the CD. Could you explain what this does? What do these elements actually do? People to put all these different things on the disk, but never tell me WHY. What if some of the back aluminum is missing?
it really does work guys it does fuck up your game even more
+Greg Smith how can it fix all scratches 100%
When dipping the games in seltzer water, can you soak the disks with more than one?
What is wrong with people with peanut butter well I don't have a prob about the pb but wat the heck?!
I appreciate that it worked for some people... But I accidentally scratched my sister's Minecraft for XBOX 360 and I tried it, but it gave the disc more scratches.
thank you for tell me how to get the scraches out of a disk
is there anything I can use besides peanut butter???
Is the peanut butter mandatory
can you use these things for the back of your ipod touch?
Did he say that we can't use the CD after we clean it?!?! BTW toothpaste on a CD works REALLY well!
How did you fins this out? Whats the science behind it? Anyone know?
we see the disc in the bottom corner
Can you use regular soda and not diet soda? Can you use any type of toothpaste?
Replace the paper towels with coffee filters and it will work better.
you do know you only need toothpaste right?
Can i use somthing Else but not peunat butter

Thank you:)
Your welcome! Now everyone can save there food and just use it for what it was meant for, eating lol. Peanut butter had me cracking up.
jreal123 I wonder what would happen if I ate the peanut butter and drank the Mountain Dew? Would I fart and pee this video? I bet I would!
does it have to be Colgate or can it be any toothpaste?
I'm hearing so many mixed things about this, I don't know if I want to try it......
I don't have soda and I don't feel like buying some so what could be substitute for soda?
Seltzer water he said it in the video
Isnt a paper towel pretty abrasive to be scrubbing on a cd?? also, who in the world thought to put their lunch on the cd?? 😞

you say there is no scrates on it. but i see sratches al over it, ide like to se you mess up a dvd and redo this and then try it in the dvd player or something for proff

nvm I just figured out why the disk was working..........
