US says it seized Iranian weapons bound for Houthis in Yemen | DW News

- The United States says it has hit more Houthi military targets inside Yemen, after seizing Iranian weapons intended for the rebels. US navy Seals raided a vessel near the coast of Somalia last week. Seized weapons include warheads for medium-range ballistic missiles and anti-cruise-missiles. Washington claims the intercepted shipment is proof that Iran is still delivering advanced military aid to the Houthis, who have used it to attack international shipping in the Red Sea.

Saudi has bombed houthis for straight 9 years. Houthis do not mind much of US strike .
I wish they would quit whining about it then
It's not a question of whether they mind it or not. The aims of the recent strikes are very different from what Saudi Arabia intended (which is more akin to what the commentator Ian Ralby in the video was suggesting should be done); ie, not to overthrow the Houthis, but to degrade their ability to attack international shipping.
Houthis don't but Yemeni population does, and they hate the Houthi.
no they don't. they are the fighting forces of the UAE-Iran proxy war. or in orders of magnitude they dislike the rebels, but they dislike their local peer/rivals more.@@fabiss23

Yemen has the right to defend itself
How is trying to sink civilian ships, potentially killing hundreds of innocent people from around the world, defending its self?
Yemen wasn't the target...
What was targeted benefits the Yemeni government.
Hence why no official Yemeni has any complaints
So does Yemen also have the right to attack Civilians. Maybe just stay quiet.

Translation - US/UK recent actions have not worked and the US is unsure how to respond.
I think it's premature to say that. It looks like the strikes have had some effect, in that the intensity of the attacks against shipping seems (to me, at least) to have diminished, but the Houthis still have access to some missiles which they have used. So, in other words, it looks like a fair chunk of the Houthis' capability has been removed, but not its entirety.
It's quite obvious how they will respond. They will continue to degrade the Houthis ability to hit out at shipping until they stop attacking civilian vessels. Eventually the houthis stockpiles will all be destroyed and they will be extremely vulnerable to a renewed conflict with Saudi.
@@stephenmuir5030Action=reaction
if spec-ops can (and they likely already are as we speak) hit land "shipping routes" then they could in theory cut down 80+% of their stockpiles. but it's fair to say they have a near endless supply for those platforms coming from a certain neighbor in the region. create a chokeoint and this all goes away.@@stephenmuir5030

The approach had to be done to lead to other ones, there are ways to interdict with mobile in region assets for decades. Also, the approach needs eclectic approaches very true, hybrid, indeed.
