I saw someone the other day suggest that libraries have seniors have story hour instead of drag queens and i think that would be amazing. I can imagine nursing homes welcoming little kids as well to have story hour. Seniors can read to kids or kids read to seniors. What a beautiful sight that would be
Yes, seniors, and even veterans. Kids would learn something from veterans.
I thought that’s how it literally used to be. I remember as a kid it was usually older people reading the story hour. And yes, it was much much better.

That is a great idea, I'm a retired Marine, I am aghast at this effort to destroy our children and our culture. I don't know whether "seniors reading to kids or kids reading to seniors" would be the more powerful movement, probably dependent on the local community.
I'm a teacher and have taken students to visit seniors at nursing homes.
The seniors LOVE it. Kids visiting them make their day and their week.
I worked at a public library. Reading books to children was part of the librarians job on the children's floor.

It is true that Cameron is often portrayed as a loon of low intelligence. Because I don't directly follow Cameron and generally read some left-wing and some right-wing ideas, I was very surprised at how reasonable and trustworthy he looked here. Almost all I ever indirectly heard of him paint him the way you said.

Jesus said in Matthew 7-21 NOT everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Then v. 22 we see those denied now pleading with Christ but what did He say in V. 23, depart from me, I never knew you! Holy crap, those are three words I never want to hear.
Those that Christ denied are so called christian people out doing the lords work, yet He denies them, why? Because they were doing the will of the world, not the Father! So you see it’s more than just saying you know Him to do His will and if your a member of the world you cannot be a member of Christ, for no man can serve two Masters.
But that leads to this question, do you know Him or do you know who others tell you He is? Jesus is not God, and the only way our God hears our prayers is THROUGH Jesus Christ, there is no other way, and if do not understand that then you are lost in the world somewhere seeking that which tickles your ears!
I had the biggest crush on this man when I was a teenager in the 80s. Now, as an adult woman I have nothing but respect and love for him. He is such a good Christian soldier.

We went to Cherry Hill Public Library in NJ and saw Kirk Cameron and crew it was amazing!!! A woman in line behind us said when she called the library to ask about it since it wasn't listed in their upcoming events she was told it was a private event not open to the public. I was there, there were so many people like myself who did not make it in. But yes, people in line kept saying the workers were not allowed to share any info about it. So for example, if the author of Harry Potter decides to come to do a story book hour, it would have been massively publicized. But I did stay till the end and people were singing n praising God. It was cool. I'm glad Kirk is a homeschool advocate.

They told me when i called they weren't sure if it was still on and it wasn't on their upcoming events list because it was an outside organization renting a room there. I did notice however they advertised 2 presentations for 2 separate age groups in June of drag queen story hour to be hosted by "Brittany Lynn" who founded Philly Drag Mafia. I wonder if that's an "outside organization" renting a room too 🤔

I neither believe in a deity nor do I believe there is no deity. I don’t know how to articulate it any better than that. And I wouldn’t call myself agnostic, because all the agnostics I’ve known are pretty sure there’s some kind of God-like entity, they’re just undecided about its nature.

As a man of faith, I find Kirk refreshing in a world where the woke push hate and lies when He presents the truth. Even if you don't believe in The Good Lord, Kirk talks about love, kindness, respect for one another. That is something everyone can adhere to. Kirk, remember this one thing. God has a plan for ALL of use. We may not understand what it is at times. But His plan is perfect. I lost my wife of 33 years last year. It was and at times, still hard to find the reason He brought her home at an early age of 55. But with His plan and my wife's passing, our family found out that cancer is a major factor on her side of the family. Our family has been tested for the cancer code that my wife had and found out the my daughters and her brother and sister also have the same genetic code that took her from us. My wife and I would, without question sacrifice our lives for our daughters and family. And without this happening to her, none of us would have known what we know now! God had a plan for all of us during this time of testing. I am grateful to have had her in my life for most of my adult life. I thank God He blessed us with two beautiful daughters. And am thankful for allowing us to lean on Him during this hard situation. Keep up the Lord's work, be humble and never loose faith. You and yours are in my prayers.

I thought so too - Hendersonville resident here and I remember hearing about this. I didn't think it was the library director that was being obnoxious, but woke staff. I'm Christian conservative but was disappointed the staff was not disciplined and the director with his meager salary was fired. As a former librarian with a Master’s Degree in “Library Science”, I can tell you that most librarians are left wing. They used to strongly support free speech, as did the media and academia, but they have all bought into the idea that some types of speech which they have chosen to define as hate speech because it expresses Christian values, should be suppressed. They wouldn’t have a problem with a Moslem coming into the library to evangelize though.
Yes, I retired from the library. Between the wokeness and the 2020 "plague," I had enough. I suggested doing a program on the Constitution. The boss said that was too controversial! I can go on and on. I can't wait for the collapse of the dollar which will probably shut the doors of government run libraries.
It is strange how that is. My one relative who’s always been difficult and unpleasant became a librarian and very opinionated. And more on the liberal side too.
I almost feel like it draws people who like to be seen as intelligent. And basically to listen unfortunately to whatever they’re taught in college-because that’s “intellectual.” Ignoring the rest of the family because we’re apparently “peons.” At least that’s what I’ve observed.

Our mom was a librarian with a Masters, same as yours. She was not Christian, but held all those values, absent faith. Your description "left wing" is all to accurate. My parents had real problems with my faith, I never understood their lack. I got saved having returned from the mid-east, Beirut, in 83, because I had to commit.
My experience in college was that the classes that were specifically related to a degree in library science were taught by professors who were leftists. They often said as a librarian one should never “censor” books. We knew from their comments exactly what books they wouldn’t censor. My thoughts were that, in making decisions on what to include in a library under one’s authority, one could not help but “censor” in the very fact not every book printed can be included in a library. I believe there has been a concerted effort by the powers that be to brainwash librarian students for exactly this outcome under the guise of free speech. It appears systemic in our school system.
@@diannemcmullen8681 My Honors English teacher said that James Joyce was the most intelligent man in literature. I read his book, A Portrait of a Young Artist in high school-forced on us as assigned reading.
I knew absolutely nothing about James Joyce before reading that book.
And basically it was written incomprehensibly in many parts. But after reading the book I immediately understood that basically this character was someone who thought he was a genius and that he blamed all his struggles on others and ultimately on God. He never took responsibility for a single wrong thing he did the entire story.
I’m not even joking.
Then, the day came where we were discussing the book together as a class and my English teacher suddenly interrupted all the students who he asked to give our thoughts to spend literally the rest of the class telling us how James Joyce essentially was portraying himself in the book-that he was the protagonist. And that apparently no one in English literature can decipher what he meant-which was literally gibberish, I’m not even kidding-and because he had parts that made no sense that makes him a genius.
So, anyways, my point is-why are you questioning your thoughts about how obviously a library has a limited selection of inventory?
Yes, obviously a library cannot have every book in existence on the shelves.

It’s the same as my English teacher when he said that writing something no one can decipher is the best writing.
The answer is obvious. If no one can understand what you’re writing, then that literally defeats the purpose of writing something down. 🤦♀️
I’m a homeschool mom, I started teaching at my churches homeschool co-op in January, it’s the best thing my kids have experienced. I love to see this! I love the BB and Mr. Cameron good work!

It doesn’t surprise me that librarians would be like this! They are often weird people! In the hallway of my library there was a rack of free local newspapers and magazines. One was a skanky dating newspaper with suggestive covers right at the eye level of small kids. I mentioned it to the librarian, and she could have cared less-freedom of speech when they support the narrative otherwise…..
Those kind of people are uneducated, primitive, stupid beings. They don’t belong into a Library

My liberal daughter had this book from the library in her home..the drag queen book. My granddaughter started to read it to me..i asked her to pick another book..she started reading the drag queen book. I made an excuse and walked away. This has to stop ..we need to focus on good and godly things..not this.

How can people not see the viable aspect of freedom of speech and religious expression also applies to Christianity? Wow, what a road we are on. I'm not even religious, either. This stuff is out of control, and the fact that state sponsored libraries are able to decry what their own served citizenship is asking for, means they are truly making these library communities underserved populations (with regards to their service).

My Dad would take me to a library in the City of Alexandria, right outside Washington DC as a very young boy for story hour. It was awesome. I was probably 7 or 8 years old. Now I'm 56 years old.
5:30 those kids must really get their hearts racing in real fear as the demons there get closer and closer to them walking the aisles. just think if that actually looks directly at you and make eye contact! I bet every kid who made eye contact cried.
