My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa and hoping to make the city of light my home base - at least for the foreseeable future. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlog daily, and love pizza a little too much.
FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a "Draw My Life" video that explains a lot here: • Draw My Life

What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.

Do you make money off RUclips? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos: / jayswanson
I don't trust this Patreon thing - what's your PayPal? - Here's a handy link! www.paypal.me/...

Glad you liked the stew, (called Bouneschlupp:) and the beer, hope to have you back in the bar someday, greetings from Bistro "beim Renert"
That bouneschlupp was SO GOOD - thanks for having me. I'll definitely be back =D
🌹Happy🌷 Birthday🌼 Mrs. Swanson! 🌻 Man, Luxembourg looks like a wonderful relaxing weekend getaway. The golden lady looks beautiful! What is she there for? Decoration? Probably another bank....lol🤣
She's a WWI monument ! The things I could have shared and didn't haha. Also thanks on behalf of my mom :)
Beautiful Luxembourg!! Thanks for taking us there!!
Thabks for coming along!
Those fortifications!!! 😍 Also, didn’t know I needed to try a pretzel croissant until now haha
Definitely worth trying!
Happy Happy Birthday Mrs Swanson 🎂💐
🎂 😄
You should visit the Mudam (Musée d art modern) and the musée "trois glands" both on the kirchberg in luxembourg city
I'd love to next time!
Phenomenal vlogging of this epic town.
Gracias =D
Happy Birthday Mrs. Swanson! 🎂🍾💐
Aww - thank you (for her) =D
Thanks for this Tour, city really looks amazing!
It's well worth the visit!
Happy Birthday Mrs. Swanson!
🎂 🎊 😄
Great weekend trip Jay! Would love to see the underground tunnels.
Absolutely! Next time 😄
Great vlog Jay, but can I just ask, do you ever get lost ?? I mean, I would really struggle to find the route back to where I'm staying !!😂 Maybe you have some phone sat nav ? All the best mate from England 👍
Stews and Brews would be a cool (and very specific) food blog! Here's to not getting lost again!
Haha - that would be very niche
Nothing like a new city walk about
I love discovering new places 😄
Looks like a cool place. We have push button crossings too lol.If you put your hand under ours, there is a wheel that turns for blind people to let them know when to cross. Also, some of ours beep and in some cases talk!
It really stood out to me for some reason. It's not like I've never seen them, but I was all about them for that first day haha
I get that lol, they look a bit different from ours.
Almost all major crosswalks in PDX have the buttons. When the light changes they also say “walk sign is on” for the sight impaired.
Kazemat in English would be a bunker. However you could also view it as a rampart. Pronunciation English case-mate in Dutch kaa-ze-matt
I still never really got it haha. But they look amazing. Next time!
Thanks for the tour!
My pleasure =D
Luxembourg is so beautiful and nice country I will come there to spend my life there
Random question...do people ever see you walking away from your camera and alert you that you've forgotten it?
Occasionally - usually they're too confused ;D
Clear that you've become a Parisian by this point (pressing buttons for crossings is novel!). In most places, it's expected...but in Paris I found that you simply cross when you can - something a year there had taught you by this point.
Absolutely right about leaving a nibble for next time! Naan should never be smaller than that and is definitely not here in Africa!
There's always more to go back and see!
Ginger beard is back!! 😁
Way too much back haha
I'm going to send this intro to my mom on her birthday 😅💗
Hold on Jay!! You never mentioned how the glass elevator was? Worth it?
It's an elevator? Haha, and free, so: worth it.
Awsome trip! Mad jelly brah.
PB&Ya
Should anyone leave valuables in an Airbnb(specifically in Paris)? Like extra cash.
That's up to your own discretion, but I would - you don't want to carry all of your stuff with you all the time.
Jay more in-depth about Luxembourg Luxembourg details
Jay, few questions I gotta ask.
1. Is that beard fake? The reason I'm asking is because, in the beginning on the introduction scene you are clean shaven.... Then how come you got beard for the rest of the video?
2. Have you got French citizenship?
3. What is the language of Luxembourg?
4. On the scale of 1 to 10 how will you rate the overall experience in Luxembourg?
Aneesh T i think he prerecorded all of his intros.im guessing It would be way too cold to be outside in shorts and a teeshirt.
Dixie Rose could be a possibility, Dixie... But, how long ago did he record all these intros together?
That- i have NO idea.
Dixie Rose haha... Waiting for Jay to reply....
we talk luxembourgish here :)
Battin Beer is a luxembourgish beer, not from Belgium!
The name of the stew was a bit of a mouthful, excuse the pun!
20 min.walk....when you need a hip replacement? Oh Jay wish I was your age and fitness!
In the meantime, I wish your mama the happiest of birthdays!
Thanks for the happy birthday! And I wish you were up for the walk as well - but I'll try to keep sharing my walks as I go for you.
