  • Mocha Pro's PowerMesh is extremely powerful for stabilization and touch-up workflows within DaVinci Resolve and Fusion. Watch Ben Brownlee as he takes you through a straightforward step-by-step workflow for doing quick beauty retouching. Of course, all these techniques can be used for mesh inserts, digital wounds, and other common VFX tasks.
Find out what else Mocha Pro has to offer: bit.ly/30FLFMZ

    Key points:
    ● Mocha Pro's PowerMesh is a powerful tool for tracking and warping surfaces.
    ● The video covers two workflows: stabilize/unwarp and Alembic export.
    ● Setting a reference frame in Mocha Pro is crucial for accurate stabilization.
    ● Alembic export allows for a more flexible workflow in Fusion.
    ● The process involves creating a 3D setup in Fusion using the Alembic data.
    ● A mask can be used to refine the warped area and achieve a cleaner result.
    Benefits of the Alembic workflow:
    ● Faster and more efficient for paint and touch-up tasks.
    ● Offers more flexibility for manipulating the tracked surface in Fusion.

This made me think that if these same functions (mesh import with textures) are available for after effects, BorisFX would be achieving what all vfx artists have been asking for years: a good way to do projection mapping inside after effects.

Would be nice. The new versions of After Effects are getting better 3D support, so a variant of this technique should be viable at some point soon.

Finally, seeing fusion being use sounds great. I hope they can give the same treatment as after effects on all of their plug ins, so we can also interact with 3d cameras and stuff on Fusion.
