How to Easily Style Medium - Long Men's Hair (How to Slick Your Hair Back)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- In this video I outline the steps to how men can style their medium to long hair by using natural pomade.
Step 1: Towel dry.
Step 2: Wait a minute or two.
Step 3: Apply a fingertip's worth amount of pomade after rubbing it in your hands to release the oils.
Step 4: Apply evenly to front, top, sides, back, and underside of your hair.
Step 5: Look fly as hell.
Added Tip: Run your hands through it half an hour or so after styling for a more textured look!
This pomade is made by Malechemy (Cocoon Apothecary), they are not a sponsor - just a great product that deserve to be known! Here is their website and here is the exact pomade I used in the video.

Wow I’ve been looking for a video like this and I can’t believe I found it! This video is better than ones from channels that have millions of subscribers. Props bro! Keen it up!
Hey thank you sir! That means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for another hair video coming soon!
Casually Formal hey man The back of my hair on the back of my head is curling up I don’t know why this is but your hair does not do that. How long is your hair? Maybe my hair is not long enough. How do I stop my hair from curling up in the back? Should I straighten it?
My hair definitely curls up at the back too! Just make sure when you slick it back to slick it back more towards the centre of the back of your head instead of down the sides to the back of your head. It will start curling after about 3 inches of growth all around!
Still waiting for a new hair video 🥲
Wow man I just got this on my Timehop from four years ago and at that time you only had 8000 views now you have half a million good job
This video is extremely helpful and incredibly supportive and heart warming. I wish you would continue to post content because it would help a lot of people to hear what you have to say. Thank you for making my day, and have a good one!!
I'm really close to doing that man! Very difficult trying to schedule in planning and filming. Thanks so much for reaching out!
Dude, this helped me sooooo much. Literally finally after years of not giving a shit about the look of my hair found a style I liked, but had no idea how to pull it off. This made it so easy to do and for the first time in my life my hair looks amazing
I'm on my hair growing journey right now and it feels so weird not having my sides skin faded but I'm determined to have my hair like yours, cheers for the video!
rick guillermo same bro, I just started around 3 months ago. I’m in the awkward stage and ima tell you it’s a pain in the ass but everyday it gets easier to style my sides and back. Just don’t give up and end up getting a cut 🤦🏻♂️ I almost cut my hair I would’ve regretted it 😂
how did you do?
I have exactly the same hair as him finally I find someone that looks like me . I just rarely see people with this type of hair.
Yeah same just now
What is this hair style called?
@@317memez7 I’m wondering the same thing. I want to know what it’s called so I can get the right haircut for it.
@@bolzichy4186 bruh u don’t get ur hair cut for that hair😭just grow it out for a year and get a maintenance cut das it. All you say to ur batber is that ur grow both the sides and top out really long to around earlobe length so don’t trim the hairs just do a line up if u wanna look a lil fresh
@@fehzanahmed9835 also dont go to a regular barbershop lmao. Those guys only know how to do buzzcuts. They look confused when they're trying to cut long hair like they've never used scissors before lmao. Gotta go to a hair salon for this cut.
All we men-who-never-grown-long-hair need is a proper video from a man with long hair saying "it's okay, it'll be beautiful soon" . Much appreciate, thank u for uploading!
This is the first time i've grown my hair out, I was wondering if it was common for more hair to fall when you have long hair or is it just going bald slowly
It's normal
Its normal. I didnt wash my hair for like a week once and when i did i almost died cause i thought more hair fell off then actual hair in my head. Lol.
I’ve noticed hair falling out of my head too lately, maybe just because I pull my hair up in a bun because it’s hot where I live...
Same problem my hair on top look thinner then back
You lose the same number of hair everyday, it’s just that those hairs are longer and that’s why you can notice.
this actually helped unlike other videos that just talk about what they use for products and dont show us how and what you are doing.
I just love your hair, the natural slicked back look is so nice!
This is what I was searching for. I have seen lot's of video but in no any videos told easier way like this... please made and upload more videos for the long hair
I'm a girl growing out my hair and wanted to know how to use pomade, lol,so thanks!!!👍
Very glad I could help!! I learned a lot from many women with long hair so I'm glad it's come full circle.
Most useful long hair styling video I've seen, no bs 👌🏽
Thanks bro!
This is the exact kind of video I was looking for. Thanks!
Finally someone who isn't just applying a lot of products just to show that he is an expert in hairology.
You literally need water and one good product. That's it.
Casually Formal thank you man
Hey, thanks. You helped me out loads. I substitute. Coconut oil then rub some sentence coconut oil on top. You're totally right, need to have confidence to pull this off as a guy.
Nice video , In 2014 I tried growing my hair but caved in a cut it when my fringe was down to my chin , what I'm noticing is we have similar hair so this video fills me with confidence , I've decided to grow it and to do it properly this time .
+DANNYdaMANO sorry for the late reply! That makes me the absolute happiest to hear amigo! Good luck to you and remember to #staycasual
Hows the hair growing danny?
Same question
Best video I’ve watched so far, straightforward and to the point, and extremely helpful. I’ve never considered pomade because I always thought of it as a product for that super tight slicked back short hair. Gonna try this out today on my day off and see what happens! Keep it up man, great video!
We have very similar hair styles and almost the exact same length, this was a major help. Appreciate this video dude!
Glad I could be of service
Your hair is so soft, it almost moves wherever you want it to!
Mine is stubborn AF!
My absolute savior! Thanks man, I’ve only ever used pomade with my short hair so this was just the video I needed now that my hair is longer!
Best hair video i have seen yet! Thumbs up my man!
This is how I want my hair to look
Good to see you're back!
+New England Style Consulting it feels good to be back, man!
wow you just made my hairstyling method more and more easy i love this video
Beauty. Been looking for a video with someone like hair like mine with slicked back look. Sick flow bro.
Good video!!! Lmao at the Ferris Beullers reference at the end haha
We have the same hair style but my hair is T H I C C
SAME
Same
Mine too, and it’s voluminous to the point I dont need to fix if with a product lol.
Zachary Betz you find out yet
Bruhhh I wish I was you my hair is too thin
Loved your hair man!❤️
Love from India🇮🇳
Thanks bro! This will help and hopefully my mom will stop calling me a bird 😂
This is amazing! Thanks for the ❤️.
Wish I had made more videos based on your products. Hopefully looking to get back in the game and I hope this video helped you guys out a lot!
@@casuallyformal4516 yes! We would love that.
i’ve been cutting my hair every month or so, but i’ve been told it looks better long. so i’ve decided to grow it. thanks for the tutorial, i’ll be visiting in a year!
I am your 100th subscriber
You mean 1000th :)
this is just my hair goals right now, perfect length.
I’m growing my hair out rn. It’s at the length where I can really style it so I just where a hat and push it all back
Good luck wearing a hat at the gym
How did you grow out? What haircut did you have before and how often did you go for trims?
Don't go for trims unless your ends are breaking
Me and you have the same type of thick and frizzy hair. It can be a nightmare, especially if u let it air dry holy shit 😂
looks so weird after being in the wind lmao
Buying some now for my lettuce. Thanks brotha.
Exactly what was looking for I have the very same hair like yourd
Cool video. I'm 6 months into growing my hair out and your video was super helpful. Thank for sharing.
How do I keep my hair from falling in my face? After my hair dries it always starts to fall forward, I can’t ever keep it slicked back
You need stronger pomade. They tend to have better hold if you put it in when your hair is dry. Your hair will stay back better as it gets longer too probably.
Wear zigzag hair band.
Amazing vídeo! Send you good vives from México
Bro I want to go to Mexico so bad!! I've never been and I love your food so much!!
The real value in this video is breaking down the truth that you're growing it out, it's not going to be perfect, and that you just need to stop giving a fuck. Really helped me stopped being so neurotic about it!
Dude’s biceps are bigger than my life ambitions
This made me rofl, you're the best homie!! Thanks for the positivity!! 🙏
mario on a cross The joke is that he doesn’t have much life ambition
If I may, my biceps aren't big at all... That's not really fair to say that they are compared to people who work out everyday and try to actually grow their biceps seriously. Let me be the first to admit that. I used to go to the gym almost everyday in 2014- 2016, but life changes you... a lot is different now and I'm lucky if I can go once a week. It's a very nice compliment that not a lot of people have said to me, so I appreciate it. Positive comments like that are what make me more likely to keep working out, so thank you!
No worries man lol
Sadly my hair isn’t curly at the back :/
crample it to fake curl
Mine is and I hate it !
TresTurkey lucky as fuck bro
Easy fix, wear a cap. I usually use hair gel slick it back and thow a cap for some time. You'll notice the back will curl up.
No worries amigo, mine lays flat on my head and then just curls at the bottom. Unless you're born with curly hair or spend hours wearing a cap or spend hours using a curling iron it won't always behave how we want... Try scrunching in the product you use for a curlier effect. Also try using a hair clay if the product your using won't do the trick.
Does It damage your hair ?
Also is it for all hair types?
Nice little entry there! Kept with theme. You did not yell and scream or say " what is up" or some other ridiculous saying.. That is a nice length for you .
Just what i needed right now, thanks alot for these video 👍
Wrong chosen of thumbnail I guess. Missed watching this all these years 😱😱. You have good hair man ! Are you still growing it ?
Its grown longer since I made the video! But I've maintained it at certain length that I'm happy with. I'm not a fan of hair being super long but long is good. It's at about my shoulder length.
Casually Formal I have a question,so I’m 15 yrs old and I’ve been growing my hair out since august but every time I slick my hair back a mullet appears, should I cut off the tips or just let it keep growing since everything’s even, please respond!!!!
@@franciscomora1449 Hi Francisco, at the time I was growing it out, my hair was longer closest to my forehead and not as long at the back of my head towards my neck. I'd reccomend going to a hairdresser to blend your hair more seamlessly. If the back of your hair grows in first it's harder to blend the front when sticking it back. I ultimately determine how long my hair is by the length at the front. Hope that helps, now go and crush high school 👊
Casually Formal alright thank you!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🤝
Best video ever man thanks my hair just like that now
Awesome stuff man! Time for a new photo aha
Thanks man, been trying to do that slicked back Joker hair.
What kind of haircut should i get before i start growing my hair out to look like this? Nice video btw.
Brandon Stiltner honestly it’s about maintenance. I had an undercut, connected, when I started growing it out. It’s just about seeing your stylist every 3 months to blend it and shape it during the growing process.
Bald
@@chadwickyilmaz4142 You can also pull the sides behind your ears which also helped it curl more for me and i have very straight hair.
I hope my hair looks as great as yours does once my one year of growth ends.
Did you grow ur hair from ur hair being all equally short or was it like a undercut? Also what size hair when you started? Thank you!
+Amaan Shah I grew it out from a disconnected fade since May 2016. Sides were 1mm that blended to 6mm before the disconnect at the top, which was 2 inches. I have had several trims and split ends removed since I made this video last April. The length is maybe a few inches longer all the way around only, otherwise it would be almost down towards the top of my chest.
Can’t wait to have my hair like this we definitely have the same type of hair good vid👍🏻
I have the exact same hair type so this video definitely helps
What’s the hairstyle called?
I love your style man... Kudos bro...
One question how u get those little wavy in the tips
It’s just natural for him
He's probably got a 2A hair type. Yeah, just naturally does that at that length
its just natural, mine does the same thing, it starts out straight nd the longer it gets it will start curling/waving at the ends
ur flow is amazing
Would this work on finer straight hair too?
My hair is exactly like yours the back is wavier and the stop it’s more wavy straight
If its more straight try scrunching in the product you use when its damp at the front and dont overload the front with too much product or it will look a touch greasy.
Beautiful flow
You've damn good hair type.
What kind of hairstyle is that called??
Trying to get that dafoe hair 🔥🔥🔥
Would love a video on maintenance of your long hair
varun thingom working on it ;)
Best hair on the www
That's what's up
lol, my hairs longer but doesn't stay back unless I use product/wear a beanie for a few hours. I'm training it backwards though currently as haven't had it this long in years.
how you get the back of your hair to flick out like that? i have straight ass hair so is that mainly a curly hairstyle or could i train my hair to do that?
Lacrosse Life lmao I’m trying to do the opposite I hate my hair flicking out at the back
Is that a water based or oil based pomade? Awesome video man
Awesome, bro!
what do you do when it comes to washing it? I don't wanna wash my hair everyday and dry it out but I feel like if there's pomade I should be washing.
Yet another man that has better hair than I do. #NotFair 😂
#igotitfrommymama
How long did it take to grow this magnificent hair out sir! Great video
I got the same style going
Eeeeehhhhh 😎
nice hair dude. I have curly hair too and am growing it and want it to your length. I just started about a month ago . It's still very short next to this so probably gonna take a year to get it to the chin
During your hair growing phase, from the disconnected undercut like you mentioned in one of your comments to this length, did you get any trims or texturing done to your hair? Texturing to reduce hair volume & make the hair more manageable.
My hair is somewhat like yours but mine is straight. I want to get curls like you
he has straight hair
@@joshuafult84 No he doesn’t
I just subbed to get you to 500
You're a champ, thanks so much 🏆
Hey man great video. I have been growing out my hair since around the same time as you but still haven't found a shampoo or conditioner I like, any suggestions?
I just love your hair
Dude can you tell me in what shape we should cut Hair firstly to grow hair like you
What do you mean by shape? Best I can say I keep the front slightly longer than the back so when you slick it back it blends nicely.
Who's here due to lockdown cause they don't have any barber shops open ?
It's just been a month dude, not a year
I'm going to be doing a video for everyone who's wavering between they should grow their hair out or not. Stay tuned. I'm filming it this weekend.
@@casuallyformal4516 finally another video! We need you man
I have hair, thank you for the video..
Do you cut under the hair at all? Like by sideburn I’m very thin there and can’t figure out what to do. I shave back of head just a little almost like you had it. I can’t see your sides they well close. Please and thanks let me know. Cheers
I shave a line along the outside of my hair about one inch at the back and on the sides of my head, from my sideburns to the back.
I only wash my hair about once a week now...but do I still add product to my hair everyday?
If you intend on using this every day, look for a water based pomade. Rinse it out every 1-3 days when you shower to prevent product buildup. Stick to shampooing once a week like you're currently doing.
@@bradyschickinger9331 Thank you! I appreciate the tips!
Does anyone know what his hairstyle is?
No particular name to this hairstyle other than a finger slick back as he describes it in the video. This is the natural hair growth for many men with medium-long hair that hasn't been cut to a specific style.
Thank you I love my hair now
Im going to start to grow my hair like my dad had it back then
I want style just like you
Look just like Jon Snow!
I'm trying to get my hair like this
Jay Solis same
Amazing video bro. Can you tell me how to get rid of wings that grow out and give me an ugly "hat" look? Thanks.
3.34 the crinzy face 😂
I lost him at hoooooo
My hair is almost as long as that, however, it doesn’t fall back like that because it’s voluminous. I’m blessed with very voluminous hair. Is there a chance it looks like this will if I ask my barber to make it significantly less voluminous?
Dudeee you look like chesterfield from Frontiers 😂😂🙏🏼💯
I just looked him up and scared myself lol
@@casuallyformal4516 haha you see!! 🙏🏼😇 you seriously do look like him
my barber cut off my sideburns when my sides were about 2.5 inches. Do I have to restart or can I still grow it out?
I made this video in 2017, at the time I had all my hair growing around my head. By the summer of 2018 I decided to shave an inch around my sideburns and the back of my head creating an outline so i cool stay cooler when i tied it up and when playing sports. If you're comfortable getting a 1 inch undercut around your head, I'd recommend it. It'll give you that cooler feeling around your ears and with a fresh fade it'll feel that much better. New inspiration video, thanks Sid
Is pomade bad for your hair like gel, or just at all, or no?
The problem is my hair doesn’t go back
do your hair also does the same when its short?
I’m asking you because I think your hair is so much like mine’s so I’m hopeful after growing it like you I can style it in back!
Btw how many years it took?
Please reply I Will be thankful
Do you use shampoo and conditioner or just conditioner?
