I brought my middle son home from the hospital when he was born in a 73 Beetle. It had a 1963 40 horse engine. It was slow, but it always got me there! You know what's blue and not very heavy? Light blue.
Rev I owe you a few apologies!! I have totally been slackin on my watching my favorite folks! Been busy (guess that's a good thing) but I am SO happy that I'm catching up now!! Hard to believe I didn't realize I missed seeing you and the Ol Man working together as much as I did until this video! Love it so much, you guys are so awesome together! I'm picking up a 64 Beetle here in the next month or so - hoping I can get it going, I might have to reach out for some pointers! Please tell everyone that I said hey, and tell Nikki T Happy Birthday! Again, thank you for taking us along on your adventures with all these cars....they are so wonderful. God Bless. Darren in TX
@@RevStoration the '40 Ford was my favorite kit. I like the '40 Ford as well. Those Mustang tail lights,,, kinda remind me of the '40 Ford tail lights, except the Ford's were Sergeant stripe shaped. That's what he was probably trying to mimick...
Well first off Happy birthday to Nikki T and second what a fun video working on a lil VW/Ford with your dad great video and fun one seeing you both back at it again great memories
I am so happy to see you and your dad working together... my dad showed me and my brother about cars in the late 60's once and then that was it... GOD Bless you all!
@@RevStoration hey Rev, check out Griff Parkers newest Galaxy video of him painting it, not perfect but I know you would probably like to see it. Have a good day my friend

I love watching you and your dad working on cars. I wish my dad was still alive then we could have fun working together. Keep up the videos and God bless you and your family
That’s a cool little body kit someone put on the VW. Not sure if they thought they would make a Mustang out of it or not, but I like the front end. Good times.
Those old bugs were a lot of fun to play with. Back in the '70's you could buy them all day long for $50 OR $100. One in exceptional condition might cost a little more. Over the course of about 4 years, I had a '59, '63 and '68. I beat the daylights out of them, had a ton of fun and still managed to sell them for more than I paid.
Those old bugs were exactly what they were built to be. They weren't fast, they weren't fancy but they would start and get you where you need to go all day long.
Awesome vid Rev! Definitely not something you see every day, that’s for sure! The bug with the Ford Kit....that’s wild! I always enjoy you and the old man working together! Your old man needs to pull that sweet Town Car out and make a daily out of it! It looks to be in good shape too!
@@RevStoration that’s the beauty of having plenty of “toys” to play with...you never get bored of your ride! I’m just a Lincoln nut myself, and absolutely LOVE the ride of those old Town Cars! The vid was awesome by the way, I even shared it with the Muncie, Indiana VW club!!
Very fun looking VW. I've seen that front end kit before. Back in Elementary School remember seeing one parked at someone's house on the way to school. Never seen the back end modified like that before. Didn't see the topper on the F100 for long but it reminds me of the one my grandpa had on his 67 F250 Camper Special when the slide in sleep over the cab camper was out.
watched your series from the beginning . Great. I miss doing things with my Dad , Jesus called him many years ago. Wish I was nearer , would love to attend one of your services . God Bless you and yours Rev.
Rick... thank you so very much for watching the videos.. We enjoy making them and we would be honored to worship with you. Friend me on Facebook and I share our service there. Thanks again.
Called a Monza exhaust! Spent almost 20 years on and off working for a VW shop in Southern Illinois between truck driving jobs. I have a reak soft spot for the old bugs. We did engine rebuilds in by 8 out by 5 and I don't know how many restorations we did over the years along with building trikes and dune buggys. Had thew molds and made buggy bodies our self. Life of the old engine was belt, oil changes and valve adjustments.
Hi Rev and Family..Im new to this channel..I love all American car, british vintage and VW bugs..this bug is stunning, would love to see it completely restorated..from a new friend across the pond,UK
Old people shouldn't go to the parts store, really Rev! Listen here young man, I might be old and have a good response if I remember what it was. Good one and there is such thing as too much fun according to the country song.
Hey Daddy.... Go get the siphon hose. LOL Sending an old person to the parts store is like asking a kid to find something in the fridge. Great video Guys!

@@RevStoration Not really sure about those. Look kinda weird. They looked like they might be in better shape than the ones on your Mustang so maybe swap???
I spent 7 years in Germany and worked on a lot of air cooled VW's. Just be glad you don't have the electronic fuel injected engines like they had in the square backs. I had a 71 Type 3 square back here in the states and the fuel injection was a pain to keep on top of. If you disturbed the wires at all you spent an hour getting everything humming again.
Loved the video. I have owned my share of the old air cooled bugs. They are fun to drive but you better have a little mechanical ability to keep them going. I have just recently been watching your videos Rev and it makes my heart feel good to see some clean descent family fun videos. May God bless.
Those Bugs always want to run; doesn’t take much to awaken them. You need to put the gas in the little bitty tube in the carb’s throat so that the float bowl gets full. The fuel pump works; I bet you if you hook up the gas tank it’ll work fine. The ‘63 is cool!!
Many VW people put a fuel filter under the car behind the left rear wheel up high. That filter may be stopped up and you may have a hose leaking under the fuel tank. You can see the hose by looking under the front of the car at the bottom of the tank. The reason for no longer having the filter in the engine compartment is to help prevent engine fires. The fuel hoses also need to be clamped if they are not.
I will have to check for the filter.. The line has a clog or has plugged filter... The bottom of the car has a solid plate... I can not see anything from under the car... We will figure it out for sure..
@@RevStoration Take the left rear wheel off and you may see a filterthere. I have seen people put a filter u nder the gas tank. good luck getting it clear.
