thank you for posting this. I just finished Mafia, beat Mafia 2 a few months back, and barely remembered this mission. I had no idea that was Tommy until the end of Mafia 1..... wow, so crazy. Thanks again!
You had no idea because in this cutscene where Joe blasts Tommy, Tommy looks nothing like he did in the epilogue of Mafia I. The only hint is Joe's statement about Mr. Saliari.
Bruh why didn't Tommy look surprised when they said His real name because in the First Mafia Game Tommy was Narrating his Story and Mentioned that him and his family were gonna get their name changed
The Mafia Definitive Edition uses a better voice track for the “Yes?”, it sounds more like an acceptance of death. They use the one from the original Mafia here, I imagine for continuity.
@@stefanmru919 after your house gets burnt down, if you keep deleveiring cars to bruski and pay your dept, not only you will prevent tommy angelo of getting killed but also you won't kill derek.
In real life at that time protective custody wasn’t so protective. The feds didn’t give a shit about who they were protecting, as long as they got paid at the end of the day
They didn't fix the dialogue in the definitive edition too, in the mafia definitive edition Tommy says just 'yes' with no suprised reaction but in this it's the same thing which happened in mafia 2
Lol, they didn't even bother to change Tommy's one voice line to the VA of the remake. You'd think if they really wanted to be the "definitive" way to play these games, they would at least put in some kind of effort to keep them all consistent, now that Mafia 1 has essentially been replaced with its own remake.
Why would they not keep the same character model from the epilogue in Mafia I. Completely blunts the impact of the scene. The only reason you know it's Tommy is the conversation in the car on the way there that the guy Vito and Joe were killing ratted on their family, Joe's message mentioning Saliari and the fact it's similar to the Epilogue. But for me, it feels like you're killing someone completely different
Mafia Definitive Edition was a remake, Mafia 2 DE was just a remaster, there was only so much they could do to make the character model resemble the one in M1DE.
@@ovidiuav I did consider that it may have been something to do with the technological capabilities in the fact that Mafia DE was a remake and Mafia 2 DE was a remaster. But as someone who never played Mafia 1 the first time around, it still feels like a let down all the same.
I hope over time they actually do mafia 2 like they did mafia 1 DE, i dont like the textures and what they did with mafia 2 DE, there is alot of bug i have recored on my xbox as ive played, Mafia DE has bugs but atleast it got more of a remake with gives it a little more reason to it, mafia 2 DE is missing something, the original mafia 2 doesnt feel like its missing anything it runs so smooth

Bro SAME!!!
The mafia definitive edition looks like he knows it’s going to be happened but this scene looks like is on vito perspective
After playing the first mafia I really didn’t want to do this mission why couldn’t we just leave tommy alone
Nothing personal for Vito and Joe just business
Coz he's a rat
Actually you can, just get $55.000 before this Chalter and u don’t have to kill Tommy and Derek.

Maybe different perspective perhaps
well when you snitch the mafia, you know whats coming to you. Maybe he was just tired to live in fear, so he didnt hesitate to confirm his identity
I wish I could skip this mission 😭
There is a way.

They also didn't fix the cutscene, in Mafia 2 he's laying already dead, but in the remake of Mafia 1 he's still alive .

When I played this part on DE, I thought about the same thing. They were too lazy to change one line and a character model.
I wish they had a sawn off in mafia 2 to keep it consistent.
And maybe kept the same character model. Whose Tommy's plastic surgeon? Completely changed his appearance from the epilogue of Mafia I.

Why they didn't update Tommy's model to the ps4 one really was a Lazy move... 😑
