The man is a joy, i am a 63 year old english reb, and i dont have anybody that is even slightly interested in my 50 year old interest, so this man is talking just me. Thank you Gary.
@@billmonteith1161 we have some groups around, but not as many. I have a rebel battle flag on my back, and that has given me a lot of grief from people.
Gary does a great job. I was a volunteer presidential docent for 9 years and loved doing history tours. Gary is very knowledgeable and is so excited about history he brings it to life ! I look forward to these videos. Thank you !
I don't how you can remain so calm, Gary. If I I had your job, I'd be slipping into full fugue state derangement. You handle it well. You're passion is delightful. More, please!
Thank you for the video. Coming from Scottsdale, AZ, I am just thankful you are making and posting these videos. Garry...don’t change a thing about yourself!
I clearly dont need to say this but going to anyways, please do not tone down ur enthusiasm the team and you are perfect videos are awesome and your energy just flows with how you telling the stories so plz dont stop 😂 keep drinking that decaf
I've been watching and enjoying Gary for over 25 years. Living in Pennsylvania he was on PCN (Pennsylvania Cable Network) during the anniversary days of the Battle of Gettysburg. He would team up with Tim Smith and Gary was even more "enthused" back then. They kind of reminded me of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. With of course Gary playing Jerry's part.
Another vote for not calming down. These are fantastic videos and your passion and the passion of your colleagues is what puts them over the top. Thank you always.
I love your enthusiasm! So much more interesting than other historians droning on and on...like my 10th grade history teacher(he was very intelligent and nice but a zzzzz to listen to) you are a breath of fresh air!
This stuff is amazing! Keep up the amazing work! I am so glad I was able to see these places in person but now to have some more history makes these places even cooler!
Gary, Great presentation your enthusiasm is wonderful. Your love of history and your ability to tell it is shows. Do not let anybody get you to tone down and make it boring like many. Keep History Alive!!!
Yes much better Gary. I love the animated or maybe as you talk , red arrows can show where the position of the troops were so we can see the tree line they marched from . Remember battles covered large pieces of ground and for us newbies and learning to this channel we are not all historians .. Many moving parts
GREAT JOB! You remind me of one of my history teachers from Jr HS - The passion and stories given so much enthusiasm pulled me in and held me. fascinating.
Great talk, Gary! The carriages on the Dahlgren Boat Howitzers, as odd as they look, are original; they were made to be easily transportable by manpower alone, without the horses used by the army's artillery outfits. As far as I know, that's exactly how the 71st New York got them to Manassas - hauling them on ropes. I'm glad to see that Fairfax County didn't squirrel them away, and that they're out in view as they should be!
I found this channel through your cooperation with the historical wargamers over at Little Wars TV - now I can't get enough of Gary! Would love to see you do a video after downing a black caffeinated coffee, though! 😀
Love the enthusiasm, I got so excited too when I saw those guns!! Could not believe they were also in the location they were firing 😱 4K drones would be nice 👍
Please don't cut back on the entousiasm, i enjoy it every time.
Haha, I don't think he could if he wanted to.

@Alan Watkins I seem to see more English fans on this sight. Does the War Between the States drive some interest among English history buffs?

Good grief! We all had it wrong... Garry is running on pure adrenaline! No caffeine? Now THAT'S excitement thru presentation!

My favorite uniforms at First Manassas was the 11th NY Fire Zouaves wearing gray jackets and red battle shirts.

The only thing I want is for you to continue making these Garry!! Thank you!
I was at the 125th Manassas. 33rd Va. We wore blue! Heat was BAD! We faced the red shirted Rhode Island boys.

You don’t need to tone down there’s nothing wrong with enthusiasm.
It's actually why i keep coming back. This guy is always psyched about this stuff. The best kind of historian (to me).
Literally thinking his enthusiasm is awesome 2 seconds before i read your post!
Thank you so much!

Y'all have the coolest job.
you guys going to do anything out west?
We did KY and WV last Nov., NC in May and hope to do TN later this year!
@@AmericanBattlefieldTrust I was thinking farther......how about the Gettysburg of the west?
Animated map is a great addition!!
I had an ancestor in the 71st New York who was wounded on Mattews Hill
You're naturally caffeinated!
My favorite place shares my nickname….”Buck Hill”

Gary, thanks for the video. Are coming for a return visit on August 29th for the 2nd battle of Manassas?
I live close by and might show up.

I'm curious about the wheels on that reconstructed artillery piece. Are they typical and/or correct? Not a criticism....Just like to know.

You kinda skipped over Buck Hill for the confederate holding position it seems.
I skipped a lot! You are correct. GA
