- This is one of the most impressive tents that I have seen in a long time;
it's large, spacious and was obviously designed by someone who knows what they are doing and how a tent should work.
This is the MC ToMount 2 Person Tent!

A two person tent that can actually fit two persons now that’s innovative.
If this tent turns out to be waterproof, I'll probably buy one. I'm a big guy and this tent checks all my boxes.
Same here, this tent is amazing with such low price.
I have one its amazing.
Third that. If it passes it’s going straight onto the bike.
Good luck finding it.
Maybe I'm just weird, but i would rather have a larger/heavier tent and strap it outside my pack than a tiny light tent that I can't move around in. Looks like a nice tent. Glad you are doing more affordable gear.
I feel the same. Often tents are reviewed for through hikers. There are times when we are out for a week, and it may be pouring rain for days, and you need room to move when you are in a tent for hours during the day.
This tent seems really amazing for the price.
I guess I'm weird too. I'm mostly a car camper, not a thru hiker, and occasionally when I do hike, it's just a few miles and could deal with the extra weight of a bigger tent, even at my age. I like the design and price, especially if it's waterproof.
AGREE!
I agree. Also, if you’re heading out with another person, you can divide the components up, and share the load.
Ultra light is ultra over rated
It's astonishing how a complementary video of yours can cause an instant price increase to $99.
Watching the vid I thought a price hike would diffenitly happen. Luke was wise to mention cost at "the time of filming". They're watching his reviews for sure...
This company actually makes good tents I have a 1 person and a 2 person backpacking tent from this company. And they are 100% waterproof. I've taken them down to 15 degrees F with a good sleep system and they work great.
Seems to be what others are saying as well. Can’t argue with the price point.
If this is such a good tent, and I’m not saying it isn’t, then why do companies like big Agnes in North face and Mormont etc. charge so much more for their tents?
Materials I would assume and proven durability of more expensive tents. I can speak on durability of the tents I have I've only had them for two winter season and halfway through this winter season I bought the OneTigris Stella 4 season tent. It's a little lighter the my one person tent and it's a two person tent.
@the_E4_Mafia quality and materials most likely. For car camping, I had an Alps Mountianeering tent. The door leaked because the storm guard over the zipper was not properly sealed. Now, I'm replacing a Eureka Tetragon NX that I bought at the height of the pandemic. The rain fly on that tent is obnoxious to put on and only covers the mesh by an inch. Unfortunately, it was the only tent I could find short notice and locally.
The Eureka is being replaced with a Northface Wawona 4. REI had it on sale for $280.
@@sairvinginthestacks Ahhh, Northface. The company that tells you, their customer, that you're inherently racist for camping and hiking because other races don't enjoy the hobby as much as white people do. Correct, I mean the world somehow magically prevents them from leaving their house and going into the country and invading our white privilege trails and camping spots.
After seeing your review of this tent I bought one and had it shipped to the UK. Last weekend I took it to a bushcraft show and I have to say it was great. We had thunderstorms and high humidity but no condensation or water leaks. I loved the fact that because there are two doors I could store my kit in one and cook etc in the other also I was able to kneel up inside and change clothes etc. Many thanks for your review it got me an awesome tent
I'll bet you could get pretty good TV reception while using this tent!
🤣
It should pick up lightening well also!
@@johngalt6929 that would prove to be a shocking situation. 🤣🤣
If not TV then probably you can get great shortwave signals. "Hello, London Calling." 🤣🤣
Amazon is no longer showing this same tent, though the ToMount backpacking tent goes by the same name. Pole design is different, and they're showing a 5 lb weight and there's a single inside pocket. Packed stowage bag length under 20 inches. So this is a great review and I appreciate your enthusiasm, but it looks to me like you can no longer purchase the tent you're reviewing.
Tomount is a Suzhou, China based startup brand and is becoming better known among the camping communities in Asia. They make pretty good quality camping/glamping gears including tents, tarps, foldable camp trollies etc.
My tomount gray tent did great in a 50mph wind, 3 inch rain storm. No leaks. I did use 6 guy lines and closed the 2 vents, to ensure no surprises. Impressive
Nice review Luke, can't wait to see you put it thru the ringer, rain and or heavy rain with wind, looks like its well made and the comfort looks pretty good. Being that is only under $75 i hope it doesn't leak, if it doesn't, am heading out to get one, even if i only used it a couple times a year, i think it will be worth it.
Thank you Luke
I have their 1 person tent and its fantastic, completely waterproof
I bought the 1-person Tomount tent in olive green here in the UK for £50, and as you say it's a superb and well-made tent for the money, although fairly heavy so I wouldn't use it for long-distance hiking, but for local woodland camping it's great. Has stood up to multiple nights of heavy Welsh rain!
Nice !!
I paid about $70 for mine and they now are showing it now in additional colors on Amazon. I am impressed especially for use as a vehicle camping tent, way too heavy for me to pack in. Can't wait for the rain testing and wind results. Thanks Luke....Got my tent today (04/13/2024): My tent in the bag is only 18" in length, but Luke is right. It is a heavy tent. Mine weighs 8.5lbs. and deep green. I have not set it up yet curious to see if I have the newer version of it. My weather is significantly different here in NW Texas land of wind, dirt and bugs. I may have to use the sprinkler system to check for waterproof or not....I love messing with these just to mainly see if they are wind proof and waterproof.
I agree. 8 lbs is Wayyy outside what a backpacking tent for an Individual should do. But for a small group that only wants one tent and can separate the components to spread out the weight, it could be doable.
I only see 1 color in the model Luke is testing. This tent is referred to as the "new" model. Old model is cheaper and offered in 2 colors.
We have their 2 person regular backpacking tent and we love it. I laughed when I saw you post this as ours is set up right now for my daughters sleepover this weekend. Other than a loose mesh string, it’s great!
I have the hot tent stove made by them. Works great. The product pamphlet they sent had some nice looking gear in it.
There was a lot of flaps and such that made me wonder if this tent was made to be able to use a stove.
Luke I don't know if Amazon is trying to pull a fast one but the link you have posted for the tent goes to one that is not like you put up, The framing poles are NOT the same so I assume the rest of the tent may also be different.
The problem with sheer wall tents is they grab the wind like a sail.but do give more elbow room.looks like a good tent for the price.i would own it.
Yes, exactly true. The taller the tent, the more it will be subject to the wind, so that is a major consideration when purchasing this tent as to where you are using it and in what conditions.
I own this tent. I use it for one or two people on motorcycle or car camping, fells very comfortable and big. In this case weight doesn't matter- like you say. Much storage space and I like the possibilities you have.
I can tell its waterproof in "normal" rain- whatever this means...had no thunderstorm or something on my way😅.
Also was surprised about the polesystem but it works well, better with two people than alone, but it works and its good quality. Not so the guylines, I use better - and longer- ones.
Stakes depends on the floor...
And I agree, its mayby 3, not 4 seasons, but doesn't matter for me.
Overall I like this tent very much, wish you a good sleep in it when your going to test it!
Greetings from Northern Germany
I assume you're using 20" and short sleeping pads for it to be a comfortable 2 person tent with storage room?
Nice looking tent
I run with 2 Great Dane!! It looks big enough, my boys will want to be with me inside the tent, please let us know how the tent holds up during rainy weather!! Thank you so much for your help! Love your channel!! Ever consider making a video with your twin brother?❤❤😊
Buy 2 of these tents and make them pack them about!
I got 3 Danes myself ones a puppy tho. They love camping
those danes could easily carry all your gear too ^^
The link in the description takes me to a completely different (and lesser) tent and I don't see the model from your video anywhere on Amazon. Curious.
Wow that’s a beast of a tent, I like it for car camping for sure! MC makes three different two person backpacking tents that I can see. One that is a more traditional 2 person tent that weighs 5.4, then another smaller one with an awning and then this monster tent. But on the Canadian Amazon site this tent is 219 Canadian. 😮 What a jip.
Sorry to hear that is so expensive where you are.
I've been looking for a car camping tent. Thanks for the review.
Good vid need to bring something so u can hang the gear show the ppl the weight on the product 👍👍Mt man here 👍👍
Nice tent!
I own a Tomount stove for a hot tent, it’s made very well and has not let me down! Their products seem well made and are budget friendly..
Being a two person tent even with its weight, one person caries the tent and the other carries 8 pounds of his or her gear. It is bulky and I agree not a four season tent or really designed to back pack with. Great review
Something I've taken to doing with my backpacking tents is separating the rigid poles from the compactable fabric parts. This allows the fabric portion to be compressed way smaller, and then the poles can stand in the "corner" of my pack vertically, almost completely out of the way.
With this 2-person tent, splitting the weight between both campers by doing this would make even more sense. It all comes down to the length of the longest single section of the pole. One person carries the pole and stakes (since they're in their own bags), and the other compresses the fabric fly and tent into a smaller ball. Just considering the size, this could easily be a backpacking tent if 2 people were going out. Whether it proves the waterproof claim will the be next hurdle.
I've never heard of that company. Thanks for the initial review and setup. I look forward to seeing it in a rain event. Thanks Luke. Stay safe and God bless.
I think this one needs a price history attached to it, at this moment (at least for me) looks like the price bumped to $99.
Don't see it anywhere on amazon. Link brings me to a different tent.
Wow! I'm impressed as well! Can't wait for you to test it in the rain! Thx for the review!
Having mine fail gave me a reason to test out the Naturehike Mongar 2 which worked out great.
$99 on Amazon.. Your Good review raised the price..
Thanks for all the reviews
Great review! I agree that it’s not a backpacking tent. But for the money, wow.
Excellent review and spreading the word.
COOL! Let see how it plays out.
Looks good so far
Love the color. Can't wait for the rain test.
happy testing Bud good review so far
Looks Great! Thanks Brother Luke.
I Really Like This Tent...On My Wish List...Want To See More About This Tent...Great Review I Think...
I bought one of these a few weeks ago just because I've been looking for a tent to strap to the motorcycle and this one popped up in the "recommends" bit on Amazon. I think I paid $39.00 for this. I like the way you put one end of the poles in place and then pulled the other end into place. First assembly would have gone much better had I thought of that. You don't seem to be worried about bending those two central poles. The inside of that fly on mine seems to be rubberized. I am betting it is waterproof, but I was more excited that it fits on my bike, has lots of ventilation, and well, it goes back in the bag it came out of. I tried it. in strong winds overnight and it did fine in a Kansas wind.
Looks almost as good as the 4 season Flytop tent. But heavier. No good for through hiking but could be a decent tent for a local trip. I'll wait for the full test video.
I got my ToMount 2 person gray tent on Sunday, yes Easter Sunday. I set it up today w 2 extra guy lines (4 in total) since a storm w 3 inches of rain and 50+mph winds are expected here on the Massachusetts coast. I cut a Tyvek ground sheet and am ready to go. Hoping for it to survive and not leak, or just minor drips. I'll close the 2 vents. Even this similar one to Luke's, went up from $49 to $59 before I purchased it. Luke's model went from his quoted $74? To $110 and now at $100. I think they/Amazon have a pricing algorithm based on views and purchases. I sure hope this one survives the storm. If not, back it goes. Fingers crossed
I bought one after watching the overnight in the rain video with this tent and I came back here to watch review one more time and decided yep I’ll get one its $99 on Amazon right now … still a good price and will be great on my kayaking trips. Thanks Luke you have helped me buy a lot of good gear over the years and its much appreciated!!! 🙏🏕️
Wow amazing camping
Im looking forward to the testing videos for this tent
Thanks again for awesome video ! Mr. Luke
Super interesting. I'm curious how it holds up in the weather
Nice for a tall person
Look forward to the full test.
I'm impressed
It looks like they were using big agnes for inspiration on this tent. The pole system on a big agnes are very similar. The copper spur has an awning as well. This is massive compared to the big agnes though and the weight shows that as well. But for that price point I am very impressed to see that type of pole system.
Good presentation of the info 😀
Take a look at the Forceatt 2 person tent. They are one and the same. I bought one (Forceatt) in 2021 for $47. It's one of the best tents I own, and I own quite a few tents.
It's not the same thing. For one, the pole structure is way different.
My two favorite Luke's posting vids this weekend woo
Prettt cool looking tent. I’ve had really good luck with both of my Amazon tents. Bought both for $60ish and they’ve worked out so far. Moonlenece 2-person backpacking tent (have used it around 10-12 times now) and Kazoo 1-person backpacking tent (used around 4-5 times now)
if it holds up to the elements this is indeed a price worth considering it for a vehicle camper.
Just looking at this tent, and it's name, I would guess that MC means it's a MotorCycle tent.. just my thoughts, but I'd be interested if anyone else thought the same.. as a motorcycle traveller who goes camping, I'd say that yes, it's big and heavy, but enough space to store all your bike gear inside the tent..
Oh, I've got something for you to try out, I know you often get through your comments, so hopefully you'll see this, I'd be very keen to hear your thoughts on the "WalkStool". It's a camping chair. Would love to know your thoughts. You also might like some of the gear from "Alton Goods" in Australia.. I use quite a bit of their gear for motorcycle camping stuff.. some of it is on my youtube channel.
Looks like a good one Luke
Looks very nice. Good price for many folks.
Awesome review Luke, I have actually look at this tent on Amazon and I like it and it would be good for a car camp, but if a guy wanted to take a big heavy tent on a weekend short backpacking trip you could always break down the pack size and store the poles on the outside of your pack and stuff the body and rain fly down in the pack so it would all fit. Now I know it's heavy but if your camping with a partner and only one tent you can also share the load. i have taken many heavy big tents with me on a short backpacking weekend trips and some bigger than this one and it can be done so when I do this is because I'm sharing it but by my self I'll never take a big tent with me like that. Thanks for all you do.
I just got the tomount cot I like the cot , lil low but great to lay on
I like it!
I haven't heard of this tent company. As you pointed out, it is an intriguing design. I would like to see a rain-storm test. And it's HUGE!
Can’t wait to see the next video about this tent! After freezing in the windy rain last weekend on a camping ruck I definitely need a better tent☠️
They do a light weight one person back packing tent that looks great 👍🏻
I like your channel and support the no nonsense sponsorship and business model you have. I usually skip commercials on youtube, but does watching the whole commercial get you compensated more or is it the same if I skip it or watch the whole thing? If it helps, I'll start watching the whole thing for you.
Nice tent.
I’m impressed by the size and price of this tent. As a tall guy I have usually bought two person tents for just myself. The weight isn’t that much of a concern because I don’t plan on any through hikes in the future. I’ll reserve too much judgement until I see whether it’s waterproof. As far as winter camping I wonder how it would do with a snow load but it’s interesting.
Looks like a solid tent for the price so far!
Thx Luke
HI LUKE 👋
THANKS 😊 CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT DOES 😊 WILL CHECK IT OUT ON AMAZON TO SEE WHAT THE PRICE IS NOW . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏 HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED ❤️ GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ❤️ 🙏
Might have to buy me one of these!
Looks like they also make a bivy tent. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the Winterial, which all of us who bought it discovered was very stuffy and had a major condensation problem.
I did not view this model yet. But look for vents on the fly, at the head and foot areas, as well as guy loops at the bottom of the fly to help with airflow/condensation. I know of at least one style of bivi tent that has a zippered area of the fly at the foot end for gear storage/ventilation as well so those would be needed features to correct those problems.
Hey Luke, I love this tent I like everything about it. I can’t wait till you do the overnight adventure with it.
Looks good for dryer climate. Wind might grab it. Require better stakes. Backup tent line.. in my military years i carried a. Shelter half system. That half system weight was around 6 pounds. So 8 lbs might. Be worth it. For comfort camping. JMHO
If you can haul it, you can have it!! And ty for your service.
I think the fabric height on the doors is to mitigate water entry should you have the doors open in the rain. I like the design.
i kind of like it looking forward to the rain test
Amazon has it listed for $100 now 🤯
Great work Luke !! Love your videos!! So impressive with your skills and your take on all these products for US!! Glad we have you buddy!! Keep it up!! You are the BEST!!! No lie!
Looks really interesting. Regrettably not in stock presently.
Really hope this one works out. I bought a $60 tent from bass pro 2 years ago. Only leaked in one corner but some seam tape and glue fixed that. It’s a “2” person tent….no room for gear with 2 people tent lol. Would be nice to upgrade size without breaking the bank.
You could go backpacking with it if you go with 2 people and share the weight. Otherwise this looks indeed like a decent and affordable tent. Good spot!
Thanks to your reviews I’ve found the nature hike massif, for my winter/shoulder season. Now I’m definitely looking at this for the summer. Oh, in Alberta, where it’s not always the best conditions. But if you don’t go you don’t know
Must be absolutely beautiful up there!!
It kinda reminds me of the Kazoo Uranus tent, but more compact and nicer vents rather than flappy windows.
I recently ordered and received the one-person tent and I'm skeptical. I've set it up in the backyard and expect rain tomorrow so we'll see how waterproof it is. It's an ok size for one person, and there's not much room for gear, I may be able to fit a pack at my feet, maybe. My skepticism comes from the loose threads and being able to see daylight through the zippers. I'm curious to see how it holds up, but either way, I may return it for a two-person tent. I'm a big guy and this may be just a tad too small for me.
Thanks for this review! This tent checks a lot of boxes for my needs. Have been on the lookout for a replacement for my Coleman Sundome 4p tent which has served us well in heavy winds and rain. Been so far reluctant to bite the bullet on a REI BaseCamp 6p or Nemo Aurora Highrise tent...big/heavy, complicated setup and expen$$$ive.
Hi Luke, the $79 MC ToMount you reviewed was already at $110 when I went to buy it. They had a grey model with a bit different style than your green one, at $49, but I waited a day and the price jumped to $59. Your viewers purchasing activity must be driving up the price algorithm at Amazon. I hope the one I get tomorrow will be good for my solo car camping needs. My Big Agnes is a bit small for car camping. Will mine leak?? Will yours?? We will see. Rain predicted next week. Thanks for your reviews.
Luke I wish you could get you and Susie could do a trip in the tent so we can see how much room there is
The Amazon link now links to an entirely different tent for $69.99.Different support system, vents and everything. Just be aware.
Agree this would be interesting to see on a rain/wind test event. Maybe for 2 backpackers sharing the load between them it might work.
Exactly!
If you're a mile from the campsite, get a wheel cart. 9lbs is still a hard no for true 'backpacking' unless you don't value your own physical integrity.
Think i will get one.
Could you please tell me how to fold the frame of MC Tomount 2P tent? Whenever I fold the frame, it doesn't fit in the bag. Your bag looks very compact.
Nice looking tent, but as usual, the minute any camping gear gets social media coverage, the price goes up. The current $99 price puts it up against a lot of competition; heavy 3+ season tents are fairly common.
Unless you Need it for an upcomming trip, I would give it some time and wait for a sale.
I know you said there is to much mesh for winter/4th season… and it certainly has the wrong stakes for snow but, I would love to see it tried. Once you seal the fly with snow, to keep the “air flow” from stealing all of your heat, maybe the mesh will keep you from causing a condensation snow storm on yourself inside the inner tent. And, I would love to see how it handles snow load? Finally, weight is less of an issue if you are using a Polk sled…
If it’s water proof and you replaced the stakes, who knows…?
Will hate having to wait until next winter for the snow to come again to find out but would love to see it.
It's looks like the kind of tent I'd buy, but.....
I'll just have to wait for the rain test. 🤔
Another amazing review thank you sit. I wanted to ask if you would consider doing a review on a academy sports tent. It's a hub tent the Magellan Outdoor Pro 4 person swift raise it seems to be a awesome tent for car camping base camp.
The tall height and near vertical sides are nice. I might be able to get my oversized cot in there for solo car camping
Nice for room, sure. Nice in 35-40 mph wind? Maybe Not so much. All depends on what your use case will be.
