Lgr and Carl are the only ones that are actually honest about the steaming pile of poo that is the sims 4. Lgr more so. He hasn't done a review on any of the newer packs in sims 4 lately and honestly I don't blame him. They're awful. If paralives ever gets released and comes out I hope they send him a free code. I really value his opinion on these eps because I find myself agreeing almost all the time
I know this is 5 years too late but Them not giving him codes for reviews after being honest is why we have lying reviewers for the sims4 now

@@alexdelaloire8739 CAS is one of the only few things that are more or less fine, except for lack of a wheel color. The rest of the game just sucks a lot and you get bored pretty quickly (many cc creators retired because of that,while in Sims 3 we had a bunch of content)... So, yeah, I'm hoping they release The Sims 5 in 2 or 3 years and we can finally forget about 4 and pretend it doesn't exist.
@@r.cupcake I didnt like sims 3 because I prefer sims 2 but I don't know why I love the sims 4!! The lack of content doesn't bother me as I always manage to create what I want from sims to houses!! And furthermore I have tons of goals so I'm not tired of it (legacies; supernaturals; ambitions; challenges; etc) for each expansion pack and game pack I always find a way to challenge myself or to find a gameplay Idea!! I also don't use CC!! So I hope they at least launch every possible pack before sims 5 because TS4 has lots of potential (in my view)
@@alexdelaloire8739 well, Sims 4 is based on Sims 2, so that might explain why you love it. I just hated the challenges proposed so far, it's been a month and I don't even open it anymore, architecture isn't my thing as well. I'm more about the storytelling itself, so the lack of content really hits me.
@@r.cupcake When I say challenges, I meant challenges that I create for myself (for exemple raising a child with no money at the beginning and things like that), also architecture and create a sim is why people demand more content!! But I know that I can count on my creativity to keep finding intersting stuff to do with this game!! Storytelling is one of my favourite things to do too and I don't really need more content for that just more packs so I think what you need is more gameplays and features rather than contents!!
Watching all these old Sims 3 reviews just reminds me how much better than Sims 4 it is...

4 is definitely a distinct downgrade though, especially since 3 actually brought some great ideas to the series like Create a Style and the open world. 4 should have really built on that instead of taking several steps backwards.
My perfect Sims game would bring together the best of 2 and 3, 4 is just lacking so much in comparison. There's so much laziness in it, the first things I noticed about the game when I first played it were the lack of toddlers and teens being the same height as adults. Neither of those things impressed me, and nothing yet from the expansions is giving me the same level of enjoyment I got out of Sims 2 and 3.
They made it worse so they can sell more. Like expansion packs that give you the basic stuff in sims 3
I agree... I enjoy the new build mode in TS4 and that's about it. There's something about the sandbox game play that has me continually reaching for TS3, even with the new TS4 expansions.
It seems they don't take the time to analyze what was good on their past games and simply throw new stuff at the next one expecting that nobody will notice what got worse.
Honestly to this day, Sims 3 Supernatural is my favourite way to play the Sims. There is just so much to do in it that you never get bored- i could never understand why so many internet simmers didn't like it because of its fantasy elements haha. I don't play sims to be realistic, i play it so i can be a billionare witch that routinely turns people into frogs and spikes everyone's drinks with bees. Much better
I will never forget how amazing this game was, the werewolves that have just been released in sims 4 are hugely disappointing and just the gameplay in general, it’s really sad to see.

Rather than having them all in one pack, the Sims 4 is probably going to have separate just as expensive packs like TS4 Witches and TS4 Fairies ...

Sims 4 is a fucking disgrace compared to sims 3 and 2
which I think is pretty good when it comes to life states. Like think about it, the vampires in ts4 are more fleshed out than the sims 3 or 2. So we'll more than likely end up with witches, fairies, and werewolves that have more abilities and are actually way more interesting. I'd rather spend 20 dollars on each game pack and get better life states than have one pack with all the life states half assed.

Yeah you're right, they recently had a poll asking which life state to make a pack for next which ended up being witches... can already see a $30 game pack for them coming out.

That wouldn't really solve the problem, since this person is probably referring to the randomly selected Townie zombies that are turned into zombies at the start of each full moon, and turned back at the end. Turning each zombie back one by one won't stop more from being randomly selected.

God I miss the Sims 3 after rewatching these reviews.

I get into Sims for about a month about every 6 months. In such a phase right now. I went from Sims 1 to Sims 3, skipping 2 and 4. And at this rate, it'll take luck for me to even consider Sims 5.

I’m rewatching all these sims 3 reviews- it’s crazy how much we use to get in a pack compared in to the Sims 4. It’s like every sims 3 pack has been split (badly) across multiple sims 4 game packs.
The first time I watched this, I hadn't really gotten into Supernatural (the show) but now, going back and re-watching, the SPN reference. GOLD.

The zombies piss me off so bad, I love gardening in the sims but every time I plant something those fuckin zombies turn up to eat it. And I tried fencing it off but they kept spawning INSIDE the fence for fuck sake
zombies are as annoying as crap. but if u turn the moon circle off in options, they would be gone! hope my advice helps you :)

Why is this pack better than realm of magic for sims 4? Honestly I was expecting something similar or even better than this but clearly we didn’t get all the fun.
Im so disappointed about the broom system in realm of magic. Like I want to ride a damn broom and follow my sim not fly up in the air

3:58 someone on the development team 100% was pushing for the Twilight references. “La Shove Beach” is a play on the real life La Push beach near Forks, WA. and there is a household in Moonlight Falls that is very clearly meant to be Bella Swan and her dad. Chester Swain works in law enforcement and his daughter Bailey shares many traits with the character of Bella Swan, right down to her zodiac sign

I NEED help please someone. My sim is a toad (todafied) I got another sim to kiss her and now there both toads, No matter what I do I can't reverse this. And also they are in the future in dystopia , but can't go back to the present because of the toad curse. Please I need there heads back so they can go back to the present. I'm sure there's a fix but I'm not aware of one other than maybe using a cheat to reset your sim, so I hope someone can help you out with it!

KillianG Eh for me it will be makin magic for the original. I miss the alternate magic world it had (which you could live in if you had enough magi coins) the shops there selling portraits that move, spell reagents and challenging shop keepers to magical duels, magic races et cetera for rarer ingredients. Also the bean stalk that grows on your lot that you can climb up and the magic crystals which give you optional magic abilities like teleport, hot foot et cetera. You are entitled to your opinion sir but even though I enjoyed Supernatural I felt like it lacked fullness.
KillianG I liked it for the clothes and furniture. I've always loved Victorian-esc stuff so this stuff pack was great for me. I've made a few nice old houses with this expansion. It's just a niche expansion.
The new life states were kinda cool too. Though other than using each once and the Vampire a couple times I never bothered with them that much.
This has so much gameplay that when I think about the sims 4 Island Living i feel sorry for sims 4. Sulani is such a beautiful world. With NOTHING to do. It is embarassing how much content sims 3 had compared to 5 fuc***** years of sims 4

The amount of things we got in a Sims 3 expansion vs a Sims 4 expansion is mind boggling! This expansion has vampires, witches and werewolves all in one while the the Sims 4 broke them up into 3 game packs, which have nowhere near as many things to do, even combined! The whole reason I’m watching this video 11 years later is because I want to play a fun Sims game again and if that means going back to Sims 3 then so be it.

@@dreadd90actually they don’t! if you’ve actually every played with the occult packs we have now such as realm of magic, vampires, and werewolves, you can see they are much more fleshed out containing more things to do than the ts3 supernatural bundling it all up in one making it impossible to make each and every occult included filled with gameplay up to the highest.

As an avid horror fan (even as a kid when this came out) this was the BEST Sims 3 expansion ever, and still is for me. I usually always make a supernatural character, even if they are not going to the expansion neighborhood. I love it so much. I recommend it for anyone of any age who is a big horror movie fan too.
Well, you could turn off the supernatural creatures when you want to play a more "standard" sims experience and then turn them back on when you want to muck about with magic stuff. Just saying.
Anyway, I am absolutely getting this. It sounds amazing.
I haven't played all the expansions, but I LOVED supernatural. I agree, it works better if you'd prefer to play with fantasy.
The sims 4 is all about money.
But the sims 3 supernatural is a gem 💎.

I created my own sims 3 world full of fantasy book characters. I couldn't have done it without Supernatural and Dragon Valley. I love this expansion. I agree about werewolves though, poor guys.
The lack of this kind of stuff in the sims 4, with that game being mostly modern, is one of the reasons I still play the Sims 3 instead of 4. Although the soullessnes of the Sims 4 is the main reason.
Yeah I get that supernatural isn't for everyone I still really like it and for the people that don't want the vampires, werewolves and all that at least it comes with a really nice town and it comes with good clothes and such.
I love this expansion (along with seasons, pets and late night). I can create all my favorite Harry Potter and LotR characters with it. :) Though I do agree that the zombies get annoying quickly.
I didn't want this expansion for the very same reasons you listed, but after installing it, I could never do without it! I love all the things that it offers. I like to do more than just eat, sleep, go to work, and build up skills, which is all a lot of people do. My Sims are almost always unemployed once they've earned enough money to retire and so I spend quite a lot of time with them. I also keep them up for days at a time with the Motive Mobile LTR which means that I don't have to wait for them to get their 8 hours of sleep every night. So with all of this free time, I like to have strange and weird things for them to do.
I bought the Greenhouse set from the Sims Store and an entire room in their house dedicated to quite a few of the skill tables (inventing, chemistry, alchemy, painting, and sculpting). My Sims have so much to do that I never ever get bored anymore. When they're not leveling up skills or performing illusions as a magician (the profession I'm currently playing with since I think it'll be awesome to have a level 10 Witch who's a level 10 Magician), they're building their power in the occult! Each day is new. Each day is exciting! Each day is different than the day before. If my Sims woke up, ate breakfast, went to work, came home, ate dinner, and went to bed, I'd uninstall the game and put the DVD inside my microwave on the popcorn setting! That just isn't fun for me! Like I said, all of my Sims reach level 10 in at least one career before retiring, but once that's done, I let them enjoy the benefits of being wealthy. No, I don't use cheats- money is too easy to get for that.
This is why I love Supernatural. My Sims have a lot of free time. I like to spend that time doing cool and unusual things! And yes, the Sims 3 werewolves are super lame.

I used to love playing as a fairy, because I loved gardening in The Sims 3 and they were good at it. Plus, flying around was fun. I also played in Moonlit Falls a lot, and it became my go-to after Appaloosa Plains. And after purchasing this expansion practically every single house I built had a pair of rocking chairs on the front porch, lol. I hated those zombies, though. The first thing I did after buying this pack was to download a mod that disabled zombie spawning during the full moon, as it's THE ONLY LIFE STATE YOU CAN'T TURN OFF in settings. Sigh. Sims 3 did that a lot, iirc -- "we're introducing this awesome feature, and it does this and this, but arbitrarily doesn't do this".

As a goth I appreciate the clothes, some of the furniture, and especially the Dark Wave music; even though I would likely turn off the supernatural content because I find it immersion breaking. As a subculture we tend to get ignore or reduced to parody, and really the only way we get real content is when coupled with mainstream friendly garbage like vampires and werewolves.
Patricia Cross I totally agree with you, which is why this is my favorite pack. This and University are the top reasons why I love TS3 so much.
Patricia Cross if you just want the clothes and stuff then you can download them for free as custom content. Just search sims 3 supernatural base game compatible clothes.

Back when it came out, I was so excited for it. I was already using mods that gave my townies fairy wings.
I was not thrilled that when it first came out, there was no way to turn off the zombies, though. That was patched in WAY later, if I'm remembering correctly. I wanted actual fairies, but not the other elements.

@@kakyoin7248 yeah they have some fun abilities that feel kinda cheaty with how good they are (Ex: Cleaning the whole house in a snap, spawning in really good quality food. Things like that) Pretty useful if you don't like to maintain the household

I mean you could just customize fairies to look like angels and vampires to look like demons and maybe witches to look like elves (with custom content ears lol). Also I think angels and demons lean more towards religious fictional creatures compared to fantasy fictional creatures so I don’t know if it would be very fitting.

Yes you do have a point, it's not a realistic gameplay with the supernatural creatures and it tends to be a one-time thing, but I ain't gonna lie I use a lot of the stuff from this pack. Good thing TS3 is great with colour customisation so I can have my pink bohemian aesthetic dream come true.

Anyone else watching this in 2019 right after the announcement of TS4 Realm of Magic? (Only to get more disappointed)
TS4 has better graphics and better optimised for low end PC but it feels so empty even to this day.
TS4 has awful cartoonish graphics. Looks like mobile game. TS3 has much better graphics.

Supernatural, Generations, and Pets are the only packs I really want since I already have the sims 3 starter pack. Unfortunately, I have a hard time finding these at one of the many 5 local Targets in my area.

I thought I would never want this pack but after getting it, I love it. Witches are the best in my opinion. They do the most and all of the elixers and spells they can cast are cool. I agree thought that werewolves kind of suck because they don't do much. but it is a truly awesome pack

For me supernatural is awesome. I'm gonna get it on the steam summer sale. My favorite is the fairy. I understand the argument that it does not add to life-like gameplay, but I love fantasy worlds period. So I don't care if they're real people or vampires or whatever. One time I spent hours one end finding Japanese, Chinese, and Korean traditional CC and then found an awesome world on Naver creating a Korean palace to make a traditional Korean world. I used story progression castes to make crown princes and kings and etc. Sure some of the clothes were Japanese and a very few Chinese, but it looked legit and I had fun playing it. I'd do it again with medieval stuff or something. Besides, I still have that world I can go back to anytime. So for me supernatural is fun!

The Immortal vampire Lifetime Award is honestly pretty genius. It shames you for trying the easy way out by making your sims look like they belong in a crappy movie
hey i find the werewolves very useful, you can make them hunt for collectibles for potions and also the howl levels them up in their werewolf skill so they have the ability to hunt for certain items.
That's it! I'm going back to The Sims 3!!! Let me know when TS5 becomes a real thing; I can't wait to have open world, cars, bigger towns, color wheel, the S4 CAS, toddlers and cool graphics!

This is way better than sims4. I would still play sim3 if it wasnt outdated now for my computer. If anyone has advice on how I can still play sims3 let me know 😫

I am not sure wym outdate. But you could buy it on steam or origin.
@@PrinceFruityruns poorly and crashes on modern pcs because they never patched it to be compatible with them. Modders had to do it themselves. Iirc the game doesn’t recognize modern GPUs and so that causes a ton of issues
Ik this video is old alrdy but still..After playing Sims 4 with all DLC.. I still prefer Sims 3, I gave out all my Sims 4 packs to my friends and trade Sims 3 and all EP that they got , no regret at all. 6 v 6
