Getting DC to commentate is a huge plus for the NCAAs
Dude it was so cool! He added so much energy to the matches too.
Gotta agree. He was like the Tony Romo of the NCAA Wrestling Championships. For many years, it's been vanilla. Jeff Blatnick was amazing with his commentary. Watch the Rob Rohn (Lehigh) finals match. Jeff called everything correctly after Rohn's cement job. But I liked DC -- he's reaching the younger generation. That's what this sport needs.
Nope, DC is a tool! Besides, didn’t he cheat on national TV?
He talks to much about WWE/MMA crap. Much rather David Taylor, Anthony Robles, Dan Gable, Gene Mills or Barry Davis as guest commentators.
@@05sidedfistagon huh? Cheat?
Thank you for posting these matches! Great commentary. Thanks to DC for promoting the sport 👊
Lex!!!!
Love seeing you here 💪
Hi Lex! Congrats Suriano! Go Blue!
Lex is definitely a true combat sport enthusiast!
I agree the paywalls to view anything make wrestling so hard to find
Finally ncaa isn’t holding back, I wish wrestling got this coverage when I was younger I love it
And I would like these wrestling matches to start being broadcast here on cable TV in Brazil, I love wrestling and I even dream of one day being recruited by an American university to fight in the NCAA in the future
@@DragunovWaynehave you done it yet?
@@thatoddball4792 If everything goes well it will be 2025 and try at a community college first and then a transfer
Suriano may have stalled some in the 3rd period but he dominated the first two. Glory was smothering him and trying his best to get a tilt. Can’t blame him for clamming up. A lot of wrestlers would have done what he did. Congrats Suriano.
That is what I’m saying. Pat was smothering him with clubs at the end and there’s not much you can do but circle to the middle like he was doing, still a great match tho
"dominated?" He won the match by 2 points-dominated? 8 or 10 to zip is "dominate"
@@jimquantic Suriano dominated him in every position but the bottom. Only one to score points. Glory almost won by stall calls in the 3rd. Glory did nothing but try and create stall calls. Sorry Glory that's not going to win you the match when you did nothing prior. The better wrestler won. Just my opinion.
@@jimquantic DOMINATED MOST THE MATCH....
@@billybalentine8065 You did say that Glory was trying his best to get a tilt? He came really close to success that one time. How can you then say that he did nothing but try and create stall calls? He worked for turns the whole time but just had little opportunity against Suriano, who was doing all he could just to prevent giving Glory an opening. I agree that the better wrestler won, but disagree with anyone who thinks that Glory was doing anything but trying to score points for the entire bout.
Nick Suriano the type of dude to tell his mom congratulations on her birthday instead of saying happy birthday LOL @12:38
Lmaooo
There is absolutely no difference. He also mentioned that it was her birthday. CONGRATULATIONS Mrs. Suriano!
He’s cutting weight and just wrestled 3 rounds.
Nick Suriano is the MAN! He doesn't care who he wrestles for, he doesn't care who he wrestles, he goes out there and just wrestles.
He doesn’t care who he wrestles for but he’s transferred 300 times?
@@ethan3949but he wins everywhere he goes. So it must not matter
@@bradyrobin6356 yeah we all know he’s good at wrestling, not sure what point ur tryna make
WHAT?!?!?! He was decent in a weak high school pool. Gilman beat him and he hasn't wrestled at the same level since.
3-time NCAA Finalist and a 2-time NCAA Champ. Pretty good career despite moving around a lot.
He also spent his RS freshman season nursing an ankle injury and watching two wrestlers he beat wrestle in the 125 finals. He beat the winner, Cruz 7-0 and the other finalist, Lizak, 8-6.
@@DiogenesLantern he's incredible man. Only imagine if he stayed at PENNSTATE. The training he would get would be on another level with RBY and Nick Lee
Also a 2× big ten champ at 2 different schools. Oh, we could also put in there a 2 weight champ.
I would like to see him in MMA, I think with his wrestling Nick would be dominant, greetings from Brazil
@@DragunovWayne and he’s a crazy motivated mofo he should try mma
Congrats to both Nick and Pat, excellent wrestling!
Jersey wrestling products! Garden State Grappling.
@@DB-115 Crazy how jersey is this good but wouldn't stand a chance against Pennsylvania guys like Spencer Lee
@@jesvinmathew5103 Pennsylvania, New York (where I wrestled for 2 years), and Cali being three tough states for wrestling.
Suriano is a beast this year at 125! Would be fun to see him against Lee. The commitment he has made this year at 125 is incredible
He looked sucked out
Suriano is no joke but lee is a once in a lifetime type of wrestler
Suriano is 25
Suriano would get teched by the second period against lee
@@Packman33 Maybe, but it's not a given that Spencer Lee will attain his past status, or for that matter, even wrestle again competitively. I hope he does, but his situation is extremely serious.
Very cool they got DC commentating these matches. Wrestling finally learning how to promote the sport a little! Very thankful for DC giving back to the sport like this.
Suriano looking good, sharp, focused. He needs to get rid of those braids though lol...
Braids make me think he’s part of what’s wrong with the country- the radical left.
Hey NCAA, thanks for posting these this year. Good for the fans. Good for college wrestling.
ESPN finally streaming the championship for free
Need to get PEACOCK on board
Absolutely
Right? I don’t understand how I have ESPN+ and Peacock and still have to buy cable to watch the Championships live. Glad NCAA is posting these.
I know next to nothing about wrestling, but I love watching the best in the world at any sport compete! :)
Nick learned what other NCAA chamois have learned. Just win. Crowd be damned. Don't try to impress it put on a show. In the record books will be the winner.
Based
Agree
Suriano has talked about going to the Octagon when done wrestling
Yeah so then he can quit like he quit Rutgers
Yeah he quit Rutgers and took a national title afterwards. What a LOSER! 😆
I'm not happy he left Rutgers either Robert, but we have no idea his reasons. He left to try and make the Olympics, so maybe things changed when he tried to return. It definitely looks like he wasn't supported by the coaches in Penn State when he got injured, so that appears to be the reason he left there.
There's a few options in MMA nowadays.....I'd assume he'd wanna go the best one right now. He's gotta start training specifically for that first though, so he's a ways away.
For everyone saying Suriano was stalling, how many points did Glory score?
Agreed. he got the only takedown, a reversal, and had dominant control. The official gave enough stall call points within reason. No way should stalling be worth a takedown and a reversal.
Not a one. Glad the refs didn’t make the final stalling call. Would have been criminal to send this into OT when Glory had done nothing to win.
So if you have more points you can’t stall? That’s literally when you stall the most. He was definitely stalling in the last period.
@Mark Huf Wow great argument. What was wrong with what I said? He literally laid there with his hands in, then when Glory let him up he ran away the rest of the match. The first stall call early on I didn’t agree with but those in the third were the right call.
@Mark Huf Wasn't Suriano running away in the last 30 seconds? Also, wasn't he laying flat out on his belly when he was on bottom?
Something people do not know is Suriano has been on a crusade for training the last 2 years. He has been to dagestan. He went to 3 different schools but who cares the kid got experience he wouldnt of otherwise. You got to respect his path of 2 ncaa titles (he honestly could of nabbed one his freshmen year had he not gotten hurt). God bless wrestling!
Flashback in the early 2020's
Suriano was toying with him that whole 2nd period. Legend
Glory was obviously a much better wrestler. Suriano is more than 3 years older than him and only his strength made the difference. Suriano should have stayed at Penn State where he would have 3 NCAA championships without stealing one from Fox like he did in 2019.
@@quincyspielberger4366 Haters gonna hate, Winners gonna win.
@@quincyspielberger4366 stealing one from fix? hahahahaha. Fix stalls more in one period
than Nick did in this match and his entire career.
@@rootsgrassusa LOL - Don't get your feelings hurt. That match was Fix's match. This year 25 year old Suriano beat 21 year old Glory - he muscled his way to a victory over a much better wrestler. That's wrestling!
@@quincyspielberger4366 I might be shooting myself in the foot by saying but I’m gonna say it anyway. I can’t change your opinion, if you think Glory is better, that’s your opinion and your entitled to it. But I don’t think it’s fair to say that Suriano won just because of strength. The takedown and the reversal he got was from his great technique and movement, not so much strength. Even though Glory’s only points were penalty points, I think he made a statement by proving that Suriano is not as far away from the pack as people think he is
KEEP posting these, all the mma game will watch and learn
Great having Daniel commentate.
Thanks NCAA for posting, and for having DC commentate! And congrats Suriano! Go Blue!
2 TIME CHAMP ‼️ i love suriano ❤️
Nick said “whatever, yeah ummm” 😂
just in time to get into wrestling, i watched mma for years. starting to get into wrestling. DC along the side is the cherry on top
Much love from Albuquerque New Mexico!
Nick Suriano is a mastermind.
I saw everyone online complaining about Suriano stalling the last period but Glory literally didn’t do anything this whole match. When they engaged it was all Suriano. The better wrestler won and it was easy to see that imo.
Damn the feeling of winning this just be amazing I use to try a high of winning a tournament it makes me miss wrestling unfortunately I could never wrestle anymore from serious injury’s
I'm from Brazil and I started wrestling because I dream a lot to be recruited by an American university and be able to have a match in the NCAA, I love wrestling since I saw it through American movies and series and when I got to know university fights and I hope I can make that dream come true, what were those injuries that prevented you from continuing?
Nick hats off u r one of my favorites amazing talent and hard work
Man DC is so good when it comes to wrestling commentating
Suriano as always, is the lord of control....able to grind down the match into a control dog fight. He is lucky that Spencer Lee isn't wrestling this season.
you aint lying. lee a different animal
Even if lee came back this year it wouldve been a still recovering and not fully healthy lee vs a healthy and more offensive than we've ever seen suriano due to his time in freestyle than in previous years. I dont know who would win bc im convinced lee can turn just about anyone on top but from a neutral position which is likely where it wouldve been and those key factors playing in, i think suriano probably wouldve had the edge just by a little. That first time they wrestled in college suriano lost but he was also injured and he only time he beat lee was as a freshmen and lee a 8th grader. Healthy im takin lee but odds this year wouldbe been suriano
@@jonahdelrio You do make some good points. However, I just cant bring myself to doubting Lee healthy or not lol. Dude won a national title with no acls like what in the world. And yeah i dont think theres a single person he could not turn. I wrestled in high school and always used that bar tilt but Lee just makes it look so easy
@@joeyvecchione2911 he did but he got surgery and with the time it takes sat out, and trying to fully recover from that i think suriano wouldve had the edge. I like both wrestlers and i'd prolly take lee anyday over suriano but bc of that factor i cant see it being anymore than either a 5-4 or a 3-2 at worst 7-2 in favor of suriano bc of it being more shots and lee not being able to get off too many attacks of his own. However freestyle coming up maybe we'll see lee back and him duke it out with suriano again which i think lee is the better freestyle wrestler of the two but upsets happen so ya never know fs
@@jonahdelrio True and like I said you make some great points. Hopefully we'll get to see the two go at it again at some point! Cheers, mate!

DC! What a treat.
If Suriano would have stayed at Penn State they would have had SIX champs this year!!! Wow!! (i'm good at math)
What a great match

Suriano that dude is a special type of guy. Very intense. I almost see him as like a young Jim Helwig (The Ultimate Warrior).
Very intense at the stall, I was there live real embarrassing way to win it
@@forwhatitsworth woah woah. no Nick won a good match and this is the ncaa championship finals (the apex of the sport for collegiate), give respect and credit to his opponent and him for winning a gritty match. You saw your vision quest through. Congrats. Many will never know what that feels like.
I literally didn’t even notice DC was commentating because I’m so used to hearing him in the ufc 😂😂
Suriano with the best walkout song of the night!
Nicky push ups
Honest question:
Penn State Suriano, Rutgers Suriano or Michigan Suriano?
Personally, I got to put Rutgers Suriano in 1st, just because of him being the underdog who avenged both his losses at NCAA to win gold, then Michigan Suriano, who was undoubtedly the most dominant version of Suriano, and in last Penn State Suriano
6 years and 3 colleges...unheard of really. He should have stayed at Penn State.
He avenged all three of his losses that year

Nick is a beast
Suriano just keeps rolling tough.
Remember Dubuque when he would show up at Pascack Hills junior wrestling practice at Bergen Catholic. Ran Hardnose club and coached at Hofstra. Maybe 2008? Good man.

Deus Vult! Way to go Nick!!!!!
Nick is just a burst of energy I don’t know anything else he could do other than MMA on the next part of his journey. He would be so dominant at the 125 pound class as long as he can take a punch and I’m guessing he can
Congratulations Michigan wrestling fans!
God loves you so much get too know him before it's too late ❤❤
Everyone complaining about the last 10 seconds of the match, please go back and watch the 1st period until 1min and 21 seconds where Glory did nothing but feints and level changes until he took his 1st real takedown attempt. Please keep the same energy with the stalling the entire match.
Yeah he’s making action and not backing up. Suriano knows he should’ve got hit. In his mind he was looking to go to over time and it just worked out in his favor.
@@willgriffin3286 You are in favor of a Glory who scored 0 points. Pick anyone from the comment section and they could wrestle Nick and score 0 points.
I mean it’s yo to the ref they are obviously way more strict about it at this level but when I wrestled I never got flagged for stalling for what he did
This will be bittersweet to see winner. Respect and like both these guys at highest level. Can there be a tie?

Great for college wrestling.

Suriano was not letting Glory use his underhooks, smart wrestling.
Call about timing. I got the same neck injury doing BJJ yesterday. My shoulder went numb, hope his is not that bad.
We need more DC!!!
Great job DC!
Suriano has a legitimate chance to become an Olympic Champion!
Domination. Only hope Spencer can come back healthy next year.
Glory acted like an absolute brat the entire match. Glad to see Nick take home his second title here.
Damn, Daniel Cormier does commentary for the UFC, and now college wrestling. Man, I could see Daniel Cormier doing commentary for a dog fight: watch as the Pitbull holds his bite against the neck of the Dogo Argentino, but the Dogo is not about to tap out. I mean this is the same Dogo who once fought against a Rottweiler, and a Kangal at the same time. But back to the Pitbull, that is one mean choke hold he has on the Dog's neck.
NS clearly stalled, again, that last 25 seconds. I know it's not easy to call, but seriously, a truly great ref would have awarded that last two.
DC commentating just added something this year forsure!
Siria no im the UFC would be an amazing sight
DC it’s awesome hearing you commentating wrestling. Makes me think that Rogan is going to chime in any second.
Bro looks cracked out
Ref is so quick with both the count and the whistle. He thinks it's Suriano that stole his lunch but it's the guy in the fifth row back eating a sandwich.
Let's go Nick!! Fucking baller
This year ncaa was like American colleges vs professionals or Cuban athletes
Like DC said, I want to see Suriano in MMA. I think his wrestling background and mindset would take him far in the sport.
2:34
in at least two critical situations the camera view switches which makes it difficult to follow the action - the first reversal and when Glory's head hit the mat.
My fucking Boy DC on the commentary team. That's whats up
Michigans arms are so defined I thought I had something on my screen. 3d arms
Cutting him with 30 seconds left seems baffling to me. You got the guy hit for stalling 3 times. You have 30 seconds to get him hit 1 more time and then you get 2 points and you’re in the lead. What do others think about this?
i agree to an extend but there was like 28 seconds left. but maybe he though he coldnt ride him for another 28-30 seconds and if he escapes with lest say 5 seconds left there would be no time to get a takedown
Trying to win on his feet makes me respect him more.
10:55 is that santa
LETS GOO 2x Champ
What's crazy is there should have been a 5 seconds on the leg stall call at the end of period 2 which means the match should have been 4-4 and Glory wouldn't have cut Suriano.
@Mark Huf then why waste your time saying anything? I just thought it was something interesting to point out dude, no need to be a dick. I didn't care who won, but you can see there's 5 seconds on the clock when Suriano is on the leg at the end of period 2.
When the top wrestler had the bottom wrestler by the legs, why was the ref counting?
Nick!!!!!! I’ve watched you since Rutgers thank you so much for blessing michigan!!!!
He just HAD to jump the whistle and give away that point
Stalled his way to a championship...and he knew it!
DC Commenting was awesome👍
Has Suriano set any type of NCAA record for having different National titles under different teams? lol ..Btw i wish DC commentated all NCAA Nationals. With his UFC stuff, idk how that would work. I just really like his insight, and expert opinion. Just a great commentator all around

Kids tough but would have been nice to see Lee tech him.
Where will Suriano transfer next year? Three years at three different schools. Available to the highest bidder?
Winner Winner!!!!
