- William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 - 23 April 1850) was an English Romantic poet who, with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature with their joint publication Lyrical Ballads (1798).
Wordsworth's magnum opus is generally considered to be The Prelude, a semi-autobiographical poem of his early years that he revised and expanded a number of times. It was posthumously titled and published by his wife in the year of his death, before which it was generally known as "the poem to Coleridge".
Wordsworth was Poet Laureate from 1843 until his death from pleurisy on 23 April 1850.

The Wordsworth documentary was so enthusiastically received by my students in my Introduction to the Romantic Poets class. A wonderful way to experience his life, loves, and poetry. Thank you so much.
So glad to hear that! You're welcome
I feel so enthusiastic about these documentaries and I'm sure I will share them with my students to introduce them to the most representative figures of English Literature. Thank you so much

I'm brazilian and I love almost all romantic poets from XIX Century, amont brazilian Alvares de Azevedo, Castro Alves, Fagundes Varela, Casimiro de Abreu. Among the Portuguese Almeida Garrett and Soares de Passos, among the germans Goethe, Novalis and Hoelderland. Among the french: Alphonse de Lamartine, Victor Hugo, Musset, Nodier, Vigny. Among the English poets: Lord Byron, Shelley, John Keats, Wordsworth and Colleridge. Among the Italiana: Giacomo Leopardi. Allô thèses poets touch deeply my soul.

Wow....to appreciate...life around you...even London...early in the morning..
"even London" lol!
Beautiful presentation of London, Poem & Poet.
He felt safe with his sister..a good companion....
It's very useful to all english literature students.
Ahh the Romantic poets, the soul of Britain.
Informative and wonderful.
I found the sharp dissonant background music during the recitation of the main poem quite distracting. Unnecessary too. But Ienjoyed your commentary - so thank you.
Oh London what happened? 😢 You are unreasonable today.
This brief sketch doesn't do any justice to the great poet.
Words a bit of a bore outside a very few poems.
How ..wonderful to see beauty...in everything around you..to appreciate...everything we take for granted..yes stand back...and actually relax and except ...everything..as it is..
Thank you so much for sharing "A Poet's Guide to Britain"! I have been looking for it for years. I saw it once, but it doesn't show up in its entirety, typically.
