- The day has finally arrived! It's AUDITION TIME FOR AMDA! I was not up for it at all that morning but once I got there and met the other people I immediately fed off their energy and I got hyped and energized and ready to rock my audition! Check out the morning's events!

blackcircus I am doing it again if I don't make it in. All ready checked the auditions dates Jan 6 Orlando that would be my next if don't make it. Maybe I will just audition for America Got Talent because I was going to and then come back for the fall semester.

I have to auditon in a few weeks, what monologues did you choose and do you have any advice?
andelys rodriguez Hi! So I did a dramatic piece by Karen Evans called “My Girlish Days” and a comedic piece by Gabriel Davis called “It’s Terrible Being Nice.” I also did a video performing them for my friend so check it out. My biggest advice would be to just be you. Go in there and don’t think about your nerves. If you do let them motivate you. Also if you have trouble with looking at people just look past them at the wall behind them above their head. Remember why you love what you’re doing and go in there and kill it!!!

where did you find your monologues? I have to audition soon and I'm soooo stuck.
okjassy well I took theatre in college before so one of mine came from just a teachers handouts... but look online. You can find anything! Just google monologues, 2 minute monologues, monologues for women, etc. You really have to search. Look up playwrights, ooh try Neil Labute! He has good plays with good monologues.

blackcircus wow congrats! Could I ask for some advice? I went through some stuff this past school year (grade 10) and my grades were slacking. I was homeless and it really threw me off. I almost earned a 3.8 last semester but my chem teacher failed me. This is now preventing me from taking more than one AP next year. Do you think I even have a chance at this point?
shiloah Thank you and yes definitely! My grades were piss poor but don’t forget about the fact that it’s a performance arts school (there’s some academic classes). And you said 10th grade???Yeah you have some time! Don’t give up! You have to at least try you know!
