I started rolling jiu jitsu at 39. I’m getting obliterated 2-5 nights a week and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Waking up in the middle of the night because your body hurts from being folded up is a unique feeling. I’m going to keep surviving (barely) and keep learning. I’ve already lost 25 lbs so that’s cool.

It is so good to hear someone talking sense. Static drills for technique have been around for centuries. It is a proven method. Positional sprarring added to that makes your skills in bjj and grappling. These days people marketing egolical training, playing games for technique etc. all horse shit.
I to am a big advocat of drilling , ecological method has proven to be very effective in competition so far but I feel like this method will not hold on the long term learning of a grappler, as you have to start from scratch in a situation like lets say , taking a break of 2 years for w/e reason ..pure fight I.Q development fades fast..
I love watching Owen compete. He’s a great athlete to watch! But guys, subtitles when you have this guy on, he speaks a variant of English not proper English 😂
Pretty funny he talks about how scary Big Dan is. Maybe he didnt see Tackett slap him around like a little child and got a tap in 7 minutes. At the time Andrew was a foot shorter and about 100lbs less. But then again Andrew is a fucking maniac lol fucking guy was choking bulls out. One of the best guys to watch compete. Wish he didnt hurt his back in his match with PJ. Really wanted to see Tackett and Mica in the finals of WNO.
For those who don’t know - Owen is the UKs answer to a Gordon Ryan. Only In reality he is better because his skillset is more diverse, way better standing and he’s completely natural. Unlike Ryan. I’d Love to see them fight - I know who my moneys on ! ✊🏾

I started one year younger . Over 1 year in now. I don’t feel the pain as much now, but I do sit out rounda once in a while.
