- The chaos altar provides the fastest and cheapest prayer training period. I've seen many people attempt this method in ways that end in them getting pked and losing money, this method is 99% safe.
The chaos altar has a 50% chance of not consuming a bone you offer upon it, while also providing the same xp per bone as a gilded altar. Unfortunately the chaos altar is located deep in the wilderness and so some tactics need to be used to squeeze as much xp out of the altar as possible while losing as little bones as possible.
Wyvern bones provide the same amount of xp so you need to check which is cheaper at the time. There is an elder chaos druid outside the altar who can unnote your bones for 50 gp each. This is what pkers are looking for, players with a large amount of bones who are willing to risk a lot of money for slightly faster xp. This area is hunted by pkers about as often as the revenant caves.
Many players, including me, opt to teleport here with a burning amulet and a full inventory of bones, use all the bones on the altar, then sacrifice yourself in a variety of ways in order to respawn, run to a bank and continue another run.
There aren’t many items you will need. A decent collection of burning amulets is important as you will use these to teleport to the lava maze and run to the temple. I also use a dinh’s bulwark, this got nerfed not too long ago removing it’s magic defense bonus, but it’s still the best defensive piece of gear you can bring that will be protected on death. This is absolutely not a necessary piece of gear but it’s handy to have if you have the money anyway. Depending on the method I am using I also bring a crafting cape or ring of dueling. These can teleport you next to a bank after you die which speeds up trips a small amount.
The most important item in my inventory is the enchanted symbol. Some people opt to damage themselves in ways that are very slow, like picking up the wine located nearby or running to the chaos fanatic. This can take 20-40 seconds and is incredibly inefficient. I have also seen people use locator orbs to damage themselves more quickly. This is definitely faster than the previous methods but it cannot kill you itself so you will have to drink a sip of wine to finish the job. The enchanted symbol from mage arena 2 has a max hit of 16 when you rub it, and as you can see when I hold down 1 and spam click it I die within seconds. This is one of the few self damage items in the game that can kill you and is absolutely the fastest way to sacrifice yourself in the wilderness, but you cannot have more than one in your bank, so if a pker kills you while you have bones in your inventory you will have to go reclaim the symbol from kolodion.
With these items in hand, I teleport to the lava maze and flick on protect magic, piety and protect item. Augury is actually the better prayer to use for the added magic defense, but I was not using it. I use all 3 of these prayers because you can indefinitely restore your prayer points at the altar. After reaching the temple I rapidly click on my bones and then on the altar. The faster you use the bones the less likely you are to get pked. After using each bone, I spam click my symbol while holding 1 and respawn in seers. At this point I could teleport to the bank using either a ring of dueling or my crafting cape, but there is actually a faster way. The respawn points of pvp worlds have banks at them, which means they are the absolute fastest way of banking after dying. The problem is there are only 2 pvp worlds and 2 high risk worlds (which only prevent you from using protect item), so these worlds are patrolled religiously. I recommend only using this method during off hours.
If you happen to get attacked while using bones, simply continue offering bones as quickly as possible. Make sure you have auto retaliate turned off as you don’t want to attempt to attack the pkers while using bones. The combination of protect magic and augury as well as a bulwark makes it possible to get through an entire inventory of bones if one pker attacks you. You can see in the footage I spot 2 pkers login in the corner, I notice they aren’t using magic so I swap to protect ranged. One runs at me with a dragon dagger, which is the true threat, so I throw on protect from melee. With no food and only a bulwark, I managed to tank 2 pkers attacks while using half of my inventory of bones entirely. Unfortunately you can’t use the symbol while being attacked so they wasted a few seconds of my time, but other than that they were not a problem. The most you can lose doing this method is around 15 bones as you can crank bones through the altar incredibly quickly. I have gotten 92 prayer here so far and have lost around 100-150 bones total.
I didn't mention the locator orb, you can use it until you are at 1 hp and then drink the wine nearby to die. It's a bit slower than the symbol but you can stockpile them, whereas you can only have one symbol and if you lose it you have to go get another one. I think the orb is faster factoring in the time to go retrieve the symbol but it requires dragon slayer 2.

locator orb will in the long run save you more time and get you more prayer xp than the enchanted symbol. having to walk all the way back to mage arena to claim it back will waste way more time in the long run
One tip for everyone using a Dinh's bulwark, DO NOT use the special attack! If you're in multicombat and you use the special attack, it will target multiple people and YOU WILL SKULL!
If a clan attacks you, they may say something like "Imagine not using Dinh's bullwark's special attack" and you may instinctively use it.
To prevent this, simply put your attack options on 'block', which makes you unable to attack and it will also increase your defence a bit.

This method is still fantastic I just wanted to add a few things from my own experience, first, this area is extremely active right now so expect to be attacked, and 2, I’ve yet to see a single pker actually loot unnoted bones so I’ve been able to tele back up and just pick the bones right back up (1500-1750 total lvl world, rarely if any pures, maxed mains do not care about 20k worth of bones lol)
Man, I love that you make quick and to the point videos, but you also cover pretty much every necessary detail that other instructors might not remember to say.
There are better ways to get here (not sure if they were all available back then but ghorrock tele was) - the ghorrock and cemetary teletabs take you closer to the temple than the amulet and are less risky than lava maze tele.
I would recommend bringing 1 brew, a dinh's bulwark, your locator orb or enchanted symbol, and your choice of a ring of duelling for banking/an extra piece of chest slot armor for extra defence, as your 4 items to keep on death (if your respawn point is ferox or edgeville, I would recommend bringing a BCP or maybe dhide body/ACP over the duel ring).
You would also bring a teletab to cemetary or ghorrock which will of course be consumed when you tele, and fill the rest with bones - giving you 25 bones per trip.
I am near max melee (90 def/96hp/92mage) and have found that even with the brew, some pkers can get you with bones left, especially if you are unlucky and they freeze you as you run to the altar, so you cant use any bones for 20 seconds.
The brew provides another 80+ hp and a super defence boost to help you tank long enough to use all your bones up.
If attacked with a lot of bones left and you deem there to be a risk of them getting some bones from you, try to remember to drink your first brew dose right away for the defence and overheal. Then finish it as needed while spamming your bones as fast as you can on the altar.
The brew costs less than 2 dragon bones, or far less than a superior bone, and consuming it can easily mean the difference between dying with 10+ bones left or dying with all of them used up.
If you would rather take the risk and have the extra inv space, then a another piece of armor would be the best replacement for the brew.
As long as your player attack option is hidden, it's not possible to skull, therefore it's impossible for you to lose any of your armor, so use BIS. If they do manage to smite you despite there being an altar next to you, all you would lose is your locator orb or enchanted symbol.

The cemetery and ghorrock teleports are basically the same time to get to the altar within a 2-3 second margin but pkers don't camp them so they're better to use.
I died twice getting 60-70 prayer and lost about 500k worth of bones, but it was still cheaper than using a gilded altar. Great strategy 👍🏽

a ghorrock portal/obelisk in poh or cemetary tabs should be safer since lava maze is packed with pkers
Edit: Cemetery teleport can be made into a poh portal too I believe

Also worth bringing a black dhide or even armadyl top for extra magic defence. Then set quick prayers to protect item, augury, and protect magic, turn on as soon as you tele into the wildy.
Yep, I like to protect the orb so I just bring a d'hide top, armadyl is better if you have one

Does anyone know about any wildy chaos altar clan events? I’ve heard the entire clan goes and while most of them train prayer, the others stand around and ward off pkers or something
yepp. "pray n chill" or try "chill n pray" one of those works. i believe it is chill n pray if i remember correctly
wow this actually makes this method super low risk. I'll keep it in mind when I need to train prayer.
only thing is with it being multi some people are camping the pvp worlds with 8 ppl. waht a a waste of everyones time, since they can't be getting anything worth while

Did we get an official statement on the menu entry swapper yet? They removed some stuff after the recent posts from Jagex and apparently worked together witht them and now RuneLite is good to use. But it's still in which goes against their first statement of removing things that give an unfair advantage/fewer clicks and this prayer training is about as unfair as it gets. Will probably quadruple your xp rates or even more over the original client. Dunno what to make of it.

According to this it is fine until stated otherwise and as of 2 weeks back OSBuddy is now 100% good to use aswell even though I don't know what that client has in store.
Yep Runelite removed a lot of plugins in compliance but the prayer entry swapper is not one of them.

It is slower if you don't try and manually click through them. The reason he is suggesting you do this is because it is a lot faster and reduces the amount of time you are there. Less time there = less bad stuff occurring

Still slowly working my way up to 99 it's definitely still worth. Most pkers understand it's not worth killing people that suicide bones, I still will go back after being pked and often find my loose bones unlooted in front of the altar

@@Lucky8s off hours would probably be later at night, maybe 11-12 or later. Problem with west coast is even if you get up super early at like 6 or 7am, it's still 10am east coast and midday for uk/eu so players are starting to pick up by then
4am where jagex is is noon for us west coasters, around midnight is definitely your best bet

because idiots will bring tanky gear with their bulwark and typically bring brews/food with blighted restores so they can bring hundreds of bones, usually dag or superiors along with their coinstack. idiots like them are why pkers go hard there
@@jaycee11145 such a rare situation. After that pk most will never do it again. If I want to pk for money I’ve always looked for a war, event, or sand casino. Anything else is such a waste of time picking on pvm players.
Because they like pk'ing. A lot of them don't do it for the money. And many at the chaos altar are just starting.
It's really hard to start to learn pk'ing. If you are fighting against experienced PK'ers.
So it's really nice if you can just practice, while not having to focus on the opponent yet.

I pkd 1.5m in notes bones here. But from what I can see no one brings notes bones anymore. So I hop around worlds. Kill people and get free prayer xp.

It's incredibly vague which is the exact reason runelite hasn't removed it, they have already removed the tormented gorilla plugin. I'm fairly certain Jagex would not ban users of this plugin before having runelite remove it, considering they are constantly in communication.
