Modlist will be coming in a google doc or a steam workshop one! Which mods do you think I missed? I had a few good ones in the live chat to be honest..
There is one that i discovered a few weeks ago and its doc world which amazingly sorts all of your mods contents so, all of the beds go Into the beds tab, all of the rec stuff goes into recreation tab, etc it also separates cuisine from production, it has it's own animal, farming, and lots of other tabs Works really well with reorder so you can change the order in which these appear and it's kinda of mandatory to use with architect icons. I'm playing with 350 mods and it separates all of the content in 30 or so tabs in total and I just feel in love with it really. The organization is fantastic. Some mods keep their tabs while some of its content go into the generic tabs and its just perfect Coudnt recommend enough.
Here’s a few I found that I use as well. -Temperature control unit by Murmur. (Keeps rooms at set temperature that’s perfect for freezers) -pick up and haul by Mehni (allows a pawn inventory and carry weight so they haul multiple items at once, not sure if you said this already). -faction blender by SineSwiper (faction/race mods are now have their races/names randomized among the factions instead of faction specific. (Also adds two new factions, one hostile and friendly faction with every unit type in the game (along with mod races) in its ranks.
"In-Wall Coolers and Vents" OR "Temperature Control Unit" are interchangeable must-haves for me. Personally, I prefer TCU because it eliminates the need for heaters on top of doing everything that IWCV can.
Great list, thanks! Since you've got realistic rooms and minify everything, I'd throw in LMV's deep storage for a trifecta of base-building joy. I also like Colonist Bar KF, but it conflicts with some other bars. No Rim HUD? And not to be (too) pedantic, but any mod that makes playing easier lowers the difficulty even if it's just by allowing the player to take absorb information more quickly (like colored mood bars) or making it less frustrating (allow tool/blueprints). In single-player games "OP" doesn't matter, just that we should be careful, like Barky was, not to assume that the game isn't easier. Some are definitely not QoL mods, like minify everything (which I don't use 'cause it seems OP) or realistic rooms and LMV's deep storage (which I use and are super OP). If I didn't have mods I probably wouldn't be playing, but I also wouldn't be able to crank the difficulty to merciless and still enjoy the roleplaying part of it.
So if you had a perfectly good fridge, instead of moving it, you say break it down to its base components(kinda) and rebuild it at the other location...we even move houses. You just want minify to hire a movers and dispense beer and pizza?
Thanks, great video. I already had subbed to a lot of the mods listed, but you also list a bunch of good ones that weren't around when I was playing last, or at least weren't well known at that time.
@@OpreanVictor it doesn't break the balance in my opinion. Just speeds up the hauling process so you dont have to wait 9h just for a pawn to haul one thing at a time. The balance part is more about the vanilla carrying capacity or weight limit I think which would make sense to have backpacks or something along those lines. Hauling more than one type of item is not balance breaking which is what I use it for and actually makes sense since you could do that in real life
This is so true. Invisible conduits cost 1 steel, same as regular one. Underground conduits cost 2. But my most favorite is Subsurface conduit: It costs 3 steel and a lot more work (50 vs 1). It do not decrease beauty. Additionally, you can choose to let you build it on walls or not, so you than have to build normal conduits there, which inflicts Zzzzt and fire damage. So much choices!
I'm not too sure if you remember me but I'm moo kun from 2 years ago, I joined your discord and kept watching your main channel and secondary channel where you had your interesting topics to talk about, back then you had about 5k subs.. just wanted to say you are awesome :) keep it up man!
Achtung! has a couple other very handy uses, like keep a formation when you move colonists (have melee in the front, for example) or give them forced orders (work on this until is finished) that should have been mentioned ..
Character editor is like an expansion on the prepare carefully mod that offers more customization for your colonists, especially if you downloaded race mods and would like to play as them
@@ObliviousNaga Yup, just right click the cut plants command and choose cut blighted plants. Saves you from installing a mod you already have within another mod.
Why dev didnt implement work tab mod into core is a pure mistery for me... Edit. Insted of mad skillz i propse statick quality since it lets you customieze pasion gains, crafting quality etc.
You definetly need to add "replace everything" it lets you Replace wooden walls and Objekts with other materials without having to tearing them down first
I just got the game. I think I am going to play a bit more before I use these mods as I want to see how the vanilla game plays. No point in adding mods before I even see WHY the mods were made lol.
The only reason i dont run minify is because it conflicts with save our ship. For a mountain base its awesome to move smoothed stone into gaps instead of ugly brick walls
Can you slow down when you show the mod names? I’m trying to follow along to install the mods but you have the name up for around a second. Good stuff though :)
I wouldn't call "Realistic Rooms" a QoL mod for this list, because it does rebalance the Vanilla values. I like it, but it doesn't fit. Where is "Replace stuff"? that is an essential. "Don't mind me passing", "Brrr and Phew", "Loading in Progress".
Personally, I have "Remove Door sounds" open and closing a lot of doors get annoying. Color-coded Traits, lastly More Tabs: Medical, & weapons are my must-haves
Yea I always thought the decay thing on skills is kind of dumb.. You mean to tell me a pawn who hits lvl 8 on planting and starts planting heal root and then goes to bed or goes rec. Then decays back to 7. They magically forget how to plant heal root within that super tiny amount of time... lol Yea last time I checked I don't magically forget how to do something overnight haha.
