Frequently Asked Questions: 1. What clay do you use? I use a paper clay. I either buy it or make my own depending on what I want to create 2. What's the difference between the bought paper clay ( amzn.to/2r5FEHY ) and the homemade paper clay (A) ruclips.net/video/LkYGfBz_MTU/видео.html (B) ruclips.net/video/_Ef-U6aZEoI/видео.html ? The homemade one is not that soft and is only good for textured surfaces like stones and tree bark. It is very cheap to make so it might worth to sand it and work it a little more than buying a paper clay. However, you can't keep it more than 5 to 7 days in the fridge. It has the best consistency when you just made it and it's fresh, so I would recommend you use it in the same day or the next and don't make more than you need 3. Can I use air dry clay? What's the difference between air dry clay and paper clay? Often times shops will sell both paper clay and ceramic clay with the same label "air dry clay". It's true, both are air hardening but there are quite a few differences: air dry clay(ceramic clay) is actually mud, natural clay, while paper clay is made with cellulose and other ingredients. Paper clay is stronger than air dry clay(ceramic clay). Air dry clay (ceramic clay) shrinks and the paper clay does not shrink. This is why paper clay is the better choice for my kind of projects. My projects usually require you to cover a jar or a plastic bottle. If the air dry clay shrinks and the bottle or jar remain the same size... you guessed it... your air dry clay will crack all around. It might be a lot cheaper but it's not what you need for these projects. 4. My clay cracks, how do you cover the cracks? You don't, you change your air dry clay to a paper clay! See why at the previous question 5. How to waterproof my paper clay creations? I recommend using a yacht varnish. Apply a few coats and make sure you cover it all around so no water touches your clay 6. What brand of paper clay do you use? I use "Das modelling material" - amzn.to/2r5FEHY 7. Where can I see the list of materials? As a general rule of my channel... READ MY VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS! I write it for you guys, is no secret what I use. For every video I write a description of what I do and what I use. 8. Do you sell your creations? No, not yet, my daughter loves them too much. 9. What colors do you use? I mostly use watercolors and acrylic paint.
Hello, I wrote about the PROCESS and the MATERIALS in the VIDEO DESCRIPTION. Check it out! I might not be able to answer all your questions so before asking me something in the comments section make sure I didn't already answered that question. Thank you!
Creative Mom Hi, I haven't done anything like this before, but you have given me inspiration to try, I can't seem to get the information,so I apologize if you have answered this question, but I have air dry clay that I would like to use, and I was wondering if you wet the piece with water, or glue to get it to stick. I think that you are just awesome. M. J
It has to be the paper clay not the normal air dry clay as it cracks. She has a link to the product in the description or she also has a video where you can make your own air dry paper clay. :)
For all the people that have trouble watching because of the speed of the video, you can adjust the video speed in the settings, just look for the settings icon in the upper right corner to slow it down if needed. I absolutely love your creations creative mom!! 🥰
just found this channel today and I love it.. I've got loads of jars from my jam making days. I can't wait to try this.. thankyou so much for sharing.. xx
Amazing! I have a question about the Varnish you use. It does not mention in the description which brand of outdoor Matte varnish spray you use.. can you recommend a brand? I'm trying to make a outdoor garden fairy house, and would love your input please. Thank you ever so much!
I am making an outdoor fairy house with the Smurf house on top of one of the post. I actually used Modge Podge on most of the wood I used and the baked clay I put on it. In order to keep the Modge Podge from being tacky it calls for it to be sprayed with varnish after it dries. I let it dry for 48 hours before varnishing. I used spray Varathane.
A Smurf House?? No way. Yes I was one of them. I loved the Smurfs...🤫🤫😆😆 Good grief people. She didn't use that much foil. If you make it. Use something else. Foil is used in arts and crafts all the time.
Thank you. Plus I told one of them if they save their used foil for these type of projects. They could also use the wrappers from their store bought item that are made from foil.
It would be nicer and better if these were more "This is how it's done" than "Look what I did" videos. (with hints and tips and instruction and help and how to's and caveats, etc...)
Hello! I love your works and I like to made it to my garden. Can you say that is stand in the rain, sun, wind, etc? Or what can i do differently? Thanks.
it's so beautiful! love it so much but i just wanna ask, when you use DAS, do you add some water on it? becoz when i buy DAS, its really hard to mold, but when i see your video, the clay looks so easy to use. thx for your answer
Thank you. Yes, I first cut it to small cubes, about 2 cm big, then I put it in a closed plastic recipient and spray water on it. I leave it over night and the next day is just perfect, soft and easy to use. Have fun!
Hermosos tus trabajos. Gracias y bendiciones.
I absolutely love your work! Can you tell me if there is a way to make this house safe to put outside in a fairy garden? Does it need to be sprayed or varnished to make it water resistant?
ZanyProductionz This one is made with das. The ones made with the home made paper clay are the ones I made after the paper clay video. so my last video and the heart
I use DAS clay as well but yours seem much more "fluid" and easier to mould - did you mix a bit with water before using? Also, how long do you leave your project to airdry before painting?
+Yvette Janse Van Rensburg Thanks for your comment. I put my clay in a plastic container, spray water on it and leave it overnight. I always wait for the clay to dry completely before I paint
Hi I have a couple questions. First one is, how can I get my clay to be more liquid and flexible like yours because I bought some clay that comes in a block and feels hard. I also am wondering if you had to bake everything at the end or if you baked pieces as you made the house? Thanks!
+fashionista1zombie I used "das modelling material" and it's a air drying paper clay, it doesn't need baking. If you bought polymer it needs a lot of hand modelling and of course, baking. If you bought das you can make it softer by cutting it in 2 cm cubes, placing it in a plastic container and spray water on it. Close the container and leave it a few hours to sit. It should be easily mixable after.
I just found your channel today & I'm hooked.. you've inspired me to get my creative juices again since I've been neglecting my creative side for so long.. love your house jars.. I definitely have to try this technique.. how long did this particular project take you to make?
+spacegirlz Thank you for your comment. A jar project takes about two days with all the details and drying time. Have fun and make sure to use a paper clay and not natural air dry clay because that one would crack. You can find a video on my channel on how to make your own cheap strong paper clay

such a beautiful project, but costly,, jeez the money for the tin foil alone you could have bought house at dollar tree . do love the project though
You could probably save tin foil from your baking stuff and then repurpose for your projects. Or even use the foil from store bought items.

Hello! I love your works and I like to made it to my garden. Can you say that is stand in the rain, sun, wind, etc? Or what can i do differently? Thanks.
+Szilvia F Thank you. You should coat it with a couple of layers of varnish so the water doesn't touch the clay. Otherwise it will disolve
it's so beautiful! love it so much

+Kelly Neonakis-Morash Yes, it should be coated all over with varnish or resin, the clay should never touch the water. Thank you for your appreciation
are you using your home made paper clay i this project? I would love to see specifically which projects you have done with that clay. Thanks!
ZanyProductionz This one is made with das. The ones made with the home made paper clay are the ones I made after the paper clay video. so my last video and the heart
ZanyProductionz You can read the video description

+Yvette Janse Van Rensburg Thanks for your comment. I put my clay in a plastic container, spray water on it and leave it overnight. I always wait for the clay to dry completely before I paint
Thanks a lot, I will try that! Also, could you perhaps advise what type of sealant/ gloss/ varnish I could use to protect my project?
I would use yacht varnish for an outdoor project and apply two coats to make sure I cover all the clay. Have fun!
Me encanta. Me suscribo.
when you apply the brush, is it water you're applying to keep it pliable?
+ZanyProductionz Unless you are talnking about the painting, I used water to make smoother surface or to stick new clay to the old, dried one. :)
Beautiful music compliments a beautiful work product.
