Honestly you’re right because the f-16 they got from Thailand was whack as hell, it get less countermeasures, no thermal TGP, no HMD/HMS, and your most effective laser bomb and set of agms are on the same pylon so you have to pick and choose which one because doing a half and half load is inefficient on that plane
I find it wild that the F-14s have been nerfed in every aspect since launch, and people will still complain about it. PLEASE. If you don’t like the F-14, advocate for it to be buffed. Join the effort in the forums, spam Gaijin about it, do whatever. All of the F-14s are undertiered by like 2 BR steps because Gaijin is purposely keeping them at a low BR. The Devs at Gaijin have been accepting bug reports since the first F-14 dev server that still hasn’t been fixed *to this day* and it’s completely unwarranted. So again, if you like the F-14 or despise it, start being an advocate for it. The F-14s will be massively uptiered and the Tomcat pilots will get the jet they’ve deserved since *3 years* ago.
id say the gripen makes up with its great dogfight ability and amount of countermeasures. Something some aircarft can only dream about and it makes it very easy to play. Sure its not the best anymore but definetly a top 5 aircraft in my book. and there is many planes that are a way worse experience to fly.

Although it doesn't have aim9ms,, I genuinely think the F14s are a pleasure to fly. Especially the Persian one, Fakours are just insane right now. Most of the matches I get are against F4s with the occasional uptier
in my opinion one of the worst aircraft in AIR RB at the moment is the Su-17M2, no flares, only rear aspect missiles and doesn't turn very good. And all of that at 10.7 where you don't have superior speed.

I just got the Gripen for the British Tech Tree, and I've heard that they have nerf it in the past but it's been one of the most fun planes to play in realistic! Wish I could have tried it before it got nerfed!
yeah the 110 coutermeasures are nice and the r27ers can kill people at a range of 20-25 km quite consistantly but aim120s are a lot better also flight model is not that bad it can pull very hard.
The Gripen was a beast when it was added, but the eurofighter and other gen 4.5s are simply better thats it for sweden when it comes to jets, 2025 will be a sad year for many subnation players in terms of top tier tanks and jets. You know whats coming and the most nations cant provide enough vehicles.
I unlocked the MiG 29, because I love this aircraft in general, but it performs so poorly from what I expected. Maybe it is skill issue but it just feels like a brick and the F-16A MLU flies so smooth in comparison, I do not really understand if it's a me issue or something with the aircraft itself, especially since you MatAWG seem to also have mixed feelings towards it.
it's not you don't worry, the MiG-29 used to be quite capable in war thunder, however with its good flight model and at the time, very powerful missiles, the rival f16 players struggled and complained about it, resulting in Gaijin artificially nerfing the flight model a lot. It was rumored that these nerfs would be reverted once the other nations had similar capable missiles but no changes have happened as of yet Something to note, the Su-27 was also quite nerfed and only like a month ago they partially fixed it, however it still bleeds more speed than it should by almost triple from my understanding. But the fact it was buffed a bit shows that there might be a bit of hope for our beloved MiG-29

Tomcat is an absolute beast in sim, the issue is too many players rely on aim-54s and refuse to learn to use its amazing flight model in a dogfight. Get down to 350-400kts go manual wings sweep and have it at 0% to get wings fully forward and watch how hard you can rip around.
5 the Gripen needs to be buffed, it should get its old flight performance, principally the AOA that it had when it was added. 4 the F-14A needs its AIM-9L and the F-14B needs its AIM-9M, and the AIM-54 should go up to 25Gs, and also the AIM-7M was able to pull 30Gs 3 the F-104G should go down to 10.7Br 2 the MiG-23M needs its 8 R-60Ms pack, but lets be honest, this one i dont see any worth on it, is just pointless to play it right now. 1 the MiG-29SMT should gets its buffed engines, and also it should get its R-77-1 and go up to 13.7Br, or decrease the ammount of R-77s to a max of 4 R-77s and go down to 13.0Br, since the Kfir in a match performs basically the same at a lower Br, feel free to let your opinion.

Nahh the mig 21 is good. Mig 23 is ok. There is so much better planes around this br. He is not trash but when u fight vs 12.0 12.7 with so much better radar ircm missile or just better performance in dogfights. He just flying good straight.
I sold my Kfir c10 and sholef to pick up the mig-23mf for Germany since I don't have any decent jet fighters for that nation. Really regret it with only 12 countermeasures and facing FOX-3's and FOX-1's all the time.
The SU27 SMs radar is a shitbox compared to the SMTs radar, but otherwise I agree. The SMT is more fun for me than the SM still cause of the almost unusable radar.

Once you learn how to notch fox-3's, it becomes very easy to get within ~8km of a Typhoon/Rafale at which point your R-77/R-27ET becomes very deadly. I go 50/50 usually when I'm up against the Typhoon though don't encounter the Rafale often enough to confidently give you the same number. If you tell yourself you can't fight one plane because you're using another plane, that's the problem, not the plane itself. Not telling you 'skill issue'. I'm not saying the MiG-29 is good. Fundamentally, the Eurofighter does and will outclass you in every way -- but it's a bad mindset to limit yourself by saying you "can't" fight a Typhoon or Rafale in the MiG-29. You can.
Sad how they shat on MiG-29 and Su-27 FM and no one complains about it enough because there are still many people who believe that there is something called “Russian bias” in this game. God forbid if any German MBT or American jet underperforms in this game. They’ll break in Gaijin headquarters.

Mat the grippen was over preforming like crazy it’s nerf was needed, the f-14a early and f-14b need to be moved down to 12.3 and 12.7 respectively, mig23m and actually this goes for all the floggers ether buff the role rate and revert the shitty radar nerf done to the jet, or move the mig23m/mf’s down to 10.7, and lastly the mig29smt just rever the fm’s for every mig29 and give the smth its better engines while fixing the r-77 and moving the same up as them it would be a good aircraft that can be useful at 13.7
agree although i think now considering the performance of all 14.0 aircraft, i dont think there would be too much harm if they slightly buffed the gripen (although im slightly biased), f14s tho i think they should give them the 9m but move it up in br a touch otherwise youll get even more aircraft facing against fox3s that really shouldnt, after all fox 3s were supposed to be 13.0 exclusive up and the phoenix's are definitely very competent missiles (especially with how annoying it can be to fly low after the multipath nerf but not too low u get splashed which ive had happen from 80+ meters away) mig23 should get radar nerf revert or moved down, from my understanding its the highest br aircraft that doesnt have a PD radar mig29 fix fm, give r73 instead of fox 1s it didnt carry and i think we'd be good

I don't think so. Since it's an "F/A"-18, it would naturally be placed after the Harrier. I think the F-14D would be placed after the F-14B, though.

Tomcat is pretty nice in Sim tho. Rarely play WT sim, but i do occasionally score a triple player kill with the phoenixes.
