In my opinion this is the equivalent to what Disturbed did with the sound of silence. This arrangement matches the emotion of what the song is trying to say beautifully.
If it isnt equivalent, its damn close.
Nailed it 100%.
More*
It really is, I loved the original but like the disturbed version of sos this hits in a different way from the original due to the arrangement.
I love music! I was saying this same thing when I saw it live in hershey pa he released the video to us and I said to my friend this is just like what disturbed did to sound of silence! I will forever typically listen to this one over the original just like I do with disturbed with sos
I know I'm not the only one that feels this way, as I've seen others say it-
Papa Roach spoke to the rage, the angst, the anger of our teenage years. Ronnie/FIR speaks to the pain and devastation and desperation that some of feel as adults.
Spot. On.
Not gonna lye this song is getting me emotional not gonna lye I never knew a song could be so spot on
I very much agree.
This version moved me more than any song in recent years. Every thing this dude creates is magic.
I loved this song it's a cover for Papa Roach's last resort. Also Jacoby wrote that song for his roommate who tried to kill himself thank goodness they got to them and they got help and they are doing well now
We need more "cinematic orchestra" in music. It's so epic.
I agree so much! Gives me goosebumps 🖤
Amen the fuck to that! 😊
I haven’t heard a cover so different from the original that is of this level of quality since Disturbed did The Sound of Silence.
Absolutely love this remastered version. Never realized how dark the original Papa Roach version was until this. Both are equally outstanding.
This song was an amazing reimagining!
The video was a direct continuation to Watch the World Burn… My interpretation is that Ronnie was the only person left after lighting the world on fire, and the grey city was the wasteland in the aftermath! This song and the lyrics were about reflecting on what he had done and how he handled everything… he wasn’t/isn’t alright, and he put the world back together after realizing he was wrong… his last resort was to set the world on fire, and he regretted it, so he put it back… that is why the final imagery was the exact opposite of WTWB… and some have said that the world was “Falling in Reverse” when it was being put back together.
So good!!
Fantastic and on point take I believe. have heard there will be 1 more part
@@melon_man5317 if the next song/movie is a direct follow up, I will die happy!
Exactly my thoughts I looked to see if someone else caught it, this is why it ends the same way (reverse) as WTWB
Glad I’m not the only one who thought/noticed this!
When you talked to the audience about having value, I literally cried. I've been where this song takes us and cannot say it enough how much joy I find even through my physical pain. Being here is better, regardless of what we must face daily. 💜
I am there, I still do not find real purpose, and still not find value, people say it is not what you say, is the tone, life has told me useless in the hardest tone, making me unable to ignore it, making unable to feel hope for life, unable to forgive myself for what I have done, unable to find peace and self-esteem
@@SkyIsTheLimit298 Please find someone you trust that is in a good place, a friend, therapist, anyone who you feel you can trust, and just talk to them. About what you’re feeling if you are at a point to open up. Or just chat about anything. We tend to isolate and that’s the worst thing to do. I 💯 understand if you’re not at a place in your mind to make big changes. So just make little ones. Baby steps. And try and be thankful for anything and everything that is good in your life. Like having your sight, being able to walk and talk. And go spend even 5 minutes in nature. Listen to birds sing. Spot butterflies and hummingbirds. I swear it WILL help even the tiniest bit. And each day will get that tiniest bit better. Please feel free to write me anytime. Perhaps we’ll share a crappy day or maybe an awesome one. 💜
I feel like the dystopian world is his life and mind, and it crumbles from too much darkness weighing on him.
Him singing the truth and screaming his pain , you blow up letting it out venting, destroying what once was..
after you vent and let it out, you feel better, so the world heals, you get back to a so called normal place in life.
That's what I think anyway, at least what i feel in my life and experience with it.
Thank you for your reaction! I love Ronnie and FIR 😊❤
So true!
This reimagined take on Last Resort, it blew me away.
Also this Ronnie reverts the damage that ''bad Ronnie'' did in watch the world burn
Very good cover of Papa Roach. Ronnie's rendition of Last Resort let's you contemplate and absorb the lyrics. Papa Roach's feels like you can sing along with the lyrics and get similar (if not the same) emotions and thoughts out of your system.
Papa Roach's make you turn the pain into anger and let out aggressively, while Ronnie's is more like a "I'll open your wounds and then cauterize them without an anesthetic" type of healing
Ronnie recorded this in 25 minutes. Also, there's a cute video of him letting Jacoby listen to it for the first time. Adorable.
5:15
Ive said this in a few comment sections
He took a song that used to fill me with rage and turned it into a sorrowful self reflection song
The original was for angry, angst filled teenagers, and this version is for the broken adults they grew into
@@ctobolsk very well said my friend
Poetic that the buildings were "Falling in reverse" by the end of the song.
You can't tell someone who has depression that just bc they are breathing they are fine.... We know we are fine and that is the scary part of it... We know we have no reason to keep feeling this way and the feeling gets so overwhelming that we just want it to stop.... Any way... though I don't contemplate it much ever.... but my depression has been so bad that even breathing is exhausting and overwhelming.... So pls don't tell someone with this mental state that they are just fine... We don't feel fine! And we have been saying this for a while wishing people would listen or just be more understanding...
He's just trying to help...which is exactly what y'all need.😊
"Its not easy for the rest of us regualr humans, ronnie" that was funny. Ronnie is just not human i agree 😂
The original by Papa Roach gets you hyped and you get lost in the beat and tempo of the song that it's easy not to "hear" the lyrics. This version throws the lyrics right in your face and shows you the true story behind this song! Never knew it was this "dark"!!
I don’t wanna be a critic or a negative Nancy as someone who goes threw mental health since I was 9 it is very hard if not the hardest thing to ever deal with without professional help. Biplore is not a joke one of the most intense thing to deal with I had many moments throwing in the towel hospitalizations. Points my sanity was slipping into psychosis of how bad the pain was. It’s not easy to just tell someone it’s fine and move on. It takes a lot of therapy and a medication process a great support system. It’s hard to see anything but pain because that’s what our mind leads us to believe. My prayers go out to everyone suffering in silence godbless and keep fighting it’s worth it. And Ronnie killed it 🔥
Listen to popular monster. That song is literally saying exactly what your saying
3:00 you literally brought a tear to my eye man fantastic message ✌️
My first thought was the same - he's going to have to sing the world back to life. 🔥
I’m willing to bet that Jacoby and the boys from Papa Roach love this. I haven’t heard anything yet, they are busy on tour right now though. ❤️🔥
@@kimgriffith1798 that’s awesome. I will have to head over and love it to show support. Thank you!
Jacoby posted an hour ago with his reaction in the video:
"WOW I AM BLOWN AWAY!!!! Honestly this one cuts deep. Right to the true emotion and depth of the lyrics. What an amazing cover Ronnie Radke I'm trippin. We are humbled that this song, 20+ years later continues to be meaningful to so many. Well done Falling in Reverse & Ronnie❤. If you haven't checked it out, do so now."
@@Milehighsnake98 awesome thank you
FIR posted a video on their RUclips of Ronnie showing it to Jacoby. It's super sweet.
@@llchristensen77 I watch it too. ❤️ Jacoby sure seems to love it.
You know when the stank face comes out its a good song ❤
Ronnie did the impossible. Creating an instant Classic from a Classic❤
I feel like all the latest releases are connected in one way or another. Visually or lyrical callbacks to other songs. It’s amazing to watch the Ronnie-Cinematic-Universe expand. Great reaction! Loved it❤ hugs from Germany 😊
As a die hard Papa Toach song, who is also a big Ronnie fan…I have to say I like this version more. Some of that has to be recent bias, but damn I feel it so much.
FYI you should check out Papa Roach’s acoustic versions. They are amazing and can stack up more to this type of cover. So happy I saw Ronnie and Jacoby reacting to the version together!
8:48 - This is like the bookend to Watch The World Burn, whether or not it was intended as that originally. And in that perspective it creates an astoundingly powerful narrative - a mounting discontent at the abuse received pushes a man who was a hero over the edge to becoming a villain who in his rage slaughters the judgemental and innocent alike before setting fire to the world. In this, he walks alone down deserted and dusty streets and faces his grief and trauma. As he finds his voice and admits aloud his pain, the walls within and without begin to crumble but as he finally screams his truth it changes.
It's the moment when the storm breaks and the world crumbles and you realize... you're still here, and turning your face to the heavens you let your triumphant tears stream unheeded with fists clenched tight letting the rain wash you clean because...
"God is in the rain." - Evey Hammond, V for Vendetta
How have you not reacted to Watch the World burn?! If you like Ronnie and his music, that seems like an ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH for you.
Dude, your commentary @ 9 killed me. Thanks for being you and keep up the great work!
🤘🏻🤓🤘🏻
There's an amazing video on RUclips of Ronnie showing Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, who wrote this song 23 years ago, this cover to his song for the first time and seeing Jacoby's reaction. It's very touching ❤
Enjoyed your reaction! This song was so emotional 😢. Loved it❤️🔥
3:45 - Thanks for being you, Mr. L Boyd. I'm glad you're still here.
The world was literally " Falling in Reverse", being put back together. Ronnie is so amazing.
Much Respect “it’s not what you say, but how you say it” perfect for this song
the black stuff on the piano is symbolic of ashes (the remains after something has been burned)
the distortion is actually symbolic of a mirage (an illusion created in intense heat)
Okay WTF Ronnie! First he does this with his own songs, now he's covering other bands songs and doing the same thing? What can Ronnie NOT do someone please tell me, what can Ronnie Radke NOT make sound beyond words incredible? OMG! I LOVE this song and this makes me LOVE Ronnie and Falling in Reverse even MORE! Anyway this song HIT/SMACKED me HARD, the lyrics are so hauntingly beautiful and relatable I've been really struggling with depression for the last few weeks now. The last couple of days have been the worst, I've NEVER thought about taking my own life or cut myself and I NEVER would. BUT this song is depression/anxiety in a nutshell, the raw emotion in Ronnie's voice is insane. You can feel it in your soul literally OMG! I'd LOVE to see Falling in Reverse live, I'd lose my voice screaming the lyrics to all the songs they played. Popular Monster would make me have zero voice cause I'd scream the lyrics to that song so loud, I'd bawl my eyes out too, and if they played this song I'd cry harder.
soo when can we make falling in reverse or Ronnie Radke their own genre?
Alot of people dont realize that this is the same set background from the Watch the World Burn video
the song is a continuation of the song:"watch the world burn" hence the ending of the song where he essentially rebuilds the world he destroyed in the endl
of watch the world burn
after he realises that he has destoryed the world he attempts to rebuild it at the end hence the ending
Ronnie Radke is a generational talent. I really hope more people realize this sooner than later.
Last week my wife left me after 8 years .for her ex husband. I wanted to end my life. This song has been on repeat since its came out. Hoping it gives me strength
I am so sorry, for your pain and your grief at the betrayal. From Australia, I send you my love, I know this pain, it is consuming and I wanted to die myself and but for my son I would have. But I could never hurt him like that. Took me about 2 to 3 years to feel human again, and now over 20 years later I am fine. Time will heal all, it just suffering through that time which sucks and hurts so badly. I wish you peace and the ability to sleep to let your brain rest from the non stop suffering. It will settle, I can promise you that.
I've been anticipating your reaction to this. ❤😊
Bro, watch the world burn was Ronnie's FU To everyone talking shit. This was Ronnie acknowledging his faults and failures while putting his world back in order. Notice, at the end of watch the world burn, the earth is burning. At the end of the video here it's rebuilding. This man is healing from a serious trauma lyrically and spiritually. His house is now in order and I wish him and you sir, the best.
It's as you said: A completely different song that is based on the Papa Roach song. I don't want to call it a cover; that word implies different things to me. I also don't want to compare it to Papa Roach's "Last Resort". For me, it feels like comparing apples to oranges, or since this is a song we are talking about, two songs of completely different genres of music. This is a rock opera, Papa Roach did it as a rock/metal/nu metal song. Personally, I prefer Papa Roach's song by a small margin, but I also a) grew up on it, so I have formative memories with it and b) prefer that style of music slightly more than I like Rock Opera. I'd probably give this an 8/10 and the other one an 8.5/10.
Compare this to Disturbed's cover of The Sound of Silence and you can kind of see what I mean when I say this isn't really a cover. It truly is a reimagining of the song, with the melody and lyrics taken and twisted into something that resembles the original but is also completely new and unique. Neither technique (covering or reimagining) is better or worse than the other, just to be clear.
I cant find the words to describe how this video affected me. This artist is channeling something so deep inside of all of us. I pray that he doesn't get crushed by the weight. I could tell that you were moved as well. I don't normally cry watching these, but.....
He made the son a whole new song. I can't listen to it (or any of his "reimaged"/"revamped" versions) without getting emotional (like "Hurt" by Johnny Cash) . He is Neo in the Matrix of vocals.
Totally awesome, I figured it out on my own that and said it to myself, iam fine ❤️🔥
Thank you for your words.. I feel like you were talking directly to me
This Version is so different that it sounds like two guys wrote different songs with the same exact lyrics. This is an absolute masterpiece! I shared it with my sister and made her cry. I showed it too my dad and now he’s a fan of FIR!😂😂
I absolutely love your reactions. I always learn things that i didnt know when I pushed play. 🖤
We all know how analytical you are and I'm always interested in you talking about the things you see and the appreciation you have for all the technical aspects that go into what FIR does. But it wouldn't hit the same if we weren't seeing the sheer joy on your face as you experience it.
With some reactors it's like watching them just beebop along to some music in their car. Occasionally throughout they'll say things like, "Wow" or, "Oh, that was neat" and we're left wondering, "Ok.....but did you notice anything poignant or did anything in the song/video give you something to THINK about?" And with some it's like they're so caught up in the technical stuff (with FIR it's LOTS of talk about green screen, budget, how they did a shot, etc.) and we're left wondering, "Ok.....but how did it make you FEEL?"
You're one of the best at combining both of those worlds.
I definitely agree with that.
i love how in his previous video "watch the world burn" at the end the world was becoming a total mayhem. and the Kind of show that in this video at the end with the same earth shot but everything was going back to normal. To me showing that there is hope.
Loved your reaction and thanks for the message at 3:18. Appreciate you
I always love watching your reactions. It's always so insightful.
And you're absolutely right. It's not just what you're saying, but it's how you're saying it.
Delivery of any speech or message is very important to get the point across.
When you listen to the original, suicidal thoughts and mental health is the last think that comes to your mind. But Ronnie brings the message of this song to light. I personally might still prefer the original a tad bit more just bc it's such a banger and a classic, but you cannot deny that this isn't a masterpiece.
Ronnie truly did this song justice.
Its like the Cash cover of Hurt, its the same song lyrically, but its coming from a different place? Its like writing a song for yourself, but someone else felt the song stronger than you did
Dude, I Love your appreciation of Ronnie...
I mean, some people dont like him but i dont care, he is a genius. Just let him create. hes gonna act out but he is going to be a huge impact on mysic in general in the long run of music history. Love him, love this.
Bro,love your reactions dude, this song is different like you said it’s totally different feeling !
My take on this is that Papa Roach made tge song for angry, frustrated angsty teenagers...which was what we needed in that time...and now that we have all grown up, Ronnie made the adult version for us to understand it a different way...❤
In "Watch The World Burn" it end with the world burning here he rebuilds it . Its just awesome every musicvideo is like a short movie now i already wanna know whats happen next video. And great reaction MRBOYD as always love goes out 🙏🙌
Wow, your little speech about every life being worth it even if things seem bad at the moment brought a tear to my eye. I think I really needed to hear that atm so thank you! 🙏
Shaddix's version makes you feel the anger
Radke's version makes you feel the pain
Same song, completely different vibes
Ronnie took a song that for all intents and purposes was dead and played out twenty years ago and made yet another masterpiece!
No words.
Great reaction.
With 💕 from 🇫🇮.
Ronnie is the GOAT, no doubt about it.
You sound like an ICONIC 80s-90s DJ with that intro bro! Love it!
I may not like Ronnie as a person but as an artist he’s incredible
So glad you did this 😁🎉
😁🤘🏼. Excellent reaction. Love these guy ❤
It's like watching a different perspective of the same situation
Thank you for your words…you’re a lovely person 🫶🏻 I’ve had my own struggles and your words in this video are truly welcomed brother. I love your reactions! Last resort really is that feeling of having no other option but that final thing. The end of it all. The thing that will alleviate all of your inner turmoil. Yet it’s as terrifying as it is comforting. It’s a double edge and many have succumbed to it. Something that we know exists but isn’t talked about nearly enough
Just like when Johnny Cash sang HURT; Trent Reznor told him that you "own" this song now. Same thing here happened in my opinion..... Ronnie "owns" this song now. Hands Down.....
So happy to not wait long for you to get to this reaction. You and FIR are awesome together :)
Great reaction - I always loved the original, and this is a great "reimagining"
I have similar feelings to this that i had to Johnny Cash's reimagination of Hurt. What a masterpiece
i waited all day for this!
That first "would it be wrong, would it be right" absolutely gives me chills
Ronnie is a legend. 🔥❤️🤘
Can you imagine what could be created if Ronnie and Ren got together for an Album?????
I loved watching your reaction.
just so you know the ending of this video song (the video) is connected to the ending of watch the world burn
I have to ask..
The video the way it ends. is that connected to Watch the world burn, that ends with the world burning..
And here its all pulled back.. It must be connected.
I can't remember the last time I heard this song..
it was everywhere back when I was young.. In a time long forgotten..
This is sweet.
I heard this song so many times when I was young.
But hearing it now much older, in this way. It really makes it clear what it was about.
Also thinking about, this song was played everywhere, tv, radio and so on.
All we get on radio today is garbage 5 notes songs all made the same way about some weird topic.
I miss mainstream music being something that mattered.
yes Ronnie tends to connect his songs togther with either lyrics or cinematic visuals
This man just put the world that he burned down back together.
I love this version. I think the 2 most powerful yet subtle visual messages are 1 Ronnie standing on the edge of a building and 2 him playing the piano in the center of the crossroads. You are right this is a different song but the same song.
I love the original by Papa Roach . But this version is so beautiful it hurts . It brings my mental struggles into perfect light .
It's a great cover of a great song.
If I had to guess based on the song, the statues depending on which chart your looking at possibly represent the stages of grief.
Another excellent reaction 🖤
The only weakness Ronnie has is the fact that he doesnt use vulgarity and u can hear it when he softens his pronunciation of the word "Fuck"
Thanks, I appreciate it
Great reaction!!
Sir, don't ever think that your words don't reach people. They do.
As many reactions of yours that Ive seen, I think this is the most emotional and pleased expression ever!! It was great to see that from you.. Im glad you enjoyed this as much as me.. maybe 'enjoyed' is the wrong word, possibly 'appreciated'? xo
The ending undoes the ending of watch the world burn
This is a million times better than the original 🖤
I would fallow Ronnie’s voice to hell and back. Great reaction, thank you!
Sometimes life is serendipitous and I've always wanted to use that word. I am not in the risk of the s word but had one of those self-affirming positive nights trying to pick myself up tonight after work. And then my man MrLboyd comes in with the affirmation... oh wait I meant to comment great reaction to an awesome song.
This is a masterpiece❤
Honestly, Ronnie could do a whole album of reimagining and I’d be there for it! Please do a reaction to Ronnie having Jacoby listen to it for the first time, Ronnie was nervous and Jacoby was vibing to it and loving it! It’s worth the reaction! Look forward to see that reaction to🤟🎶🥰
the music video looks like its whats left after "Watch the world burn" like at the end you can see the ending scene of watch the world burn but in reverse
