He knows what it costs to run that ranch. He knows better than any of us, and he doesn't want to bankrupt himself to stay on that ranch! 👏🏾

I LOVE LOVE LOVE, Tom Selleck. I DVR Blue Blood every day. It's sad it's coming to an end. I'm looking forward to a new show, with Tom and some of the cast from BB.

Blue is one of my favorite shows - PERIOD. The Sunday dinner scenes are my favorite. He over extended himself financially to live on his farm but that’s a GREAT thing to do you live once so if he can afford it, DO IT.
Now he may have to sell. This is a real reality for many. I can’t muster up any tear because he can trade his farm for a
Ritzy house on the hills pretty easily’

What about residuals. The show is also in syndication. After fives seasons syndication is profitable. Good luck Tom. My mom was a big Magnum fan

Good Morning, Diva. Here you go again giving us something else to think about!
Magnum PI was one of my favorite shows in HS and I always liked Tom Selleck as an actor, because he seems to be intentional in the roles that he picks. But I really don’t believe that this former Californian National Guardsman, former NRA president (still member), college educated, basketball playing, active Republican actor is about to lose his 63 acres ranch.
If anything, at his age of 79, he probably doesn’t want to use the funds for upkeep, like another commenter @kat-oe7gb said, "He knows the cost to run the ranch and he doesn't want to bankrupt himself." He also may not have anyone in his family who is willing to take on that responsibility after he is gone. So, the smart thing to do is to sell the land (one of his properties) now, before the state does.
Either way, I think he is financially set where he does not have to work, like unfortunately, a lot of seniors do. But I do find it ironic that this is the same man who was one of the first spokesman for encouraging seniors to get a “reverse mortgage” to generate income and stay in their homes only for the survivors to end up not being able to inherit the family home. He was giving advice that he would not give himself. Hmmm🤔. Tom will be alright.

Dang, Tom Selleck. You made those reverse mortgage commercials! Guess it's not working out too well!

Tom is a very good actor. At lease he is not in denial that he may have to downsize.

EVERYTHING MUST/ALWAYS COMES TO AN END UNFORTUNATELY!! I'm HOPING/PRAYING that he and his family can figure out a way NOT TO LOSE HIS "BELOVED FARM!!"
He acquired this property in 1988 and that's 36 years of living life "HIS WAY!!" That's MORE than MOST of us get in regards to living the way that we do, dream and desire!!!
Maintaining a farm is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, and especially one that is as large as his is, which sits on 63 acres!! That's MASSIVE, TO SAY THE LEAST!!!
IF, it DOES come down to losing his farm because of the inability to maintain the property FINANCIALLY, he could ALWAYS DOWNSIZE to a smaller FARM!! And I KNOW that would/will be HEART WRENCHING/BREAKING, BUT a 36 year RUN ISN'T ALL BAD!!!!!!!!!!!
OR, he could be BLESSED with another SUCCESSFUL PRODUCTION/SERIES such as "BLUE BLOODS!!!!!!!!" My PRAYERS are with Tom and his family with sorting out this DILEMMA!!!!
      GOOD LUCK, TOM SELLECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Okay, no.
    Just no.
Nowadays we can call any stretch of land or ranch I guess,
60 acres is a hay pasture.

Not a farm, not a ranch - it USED to be an avocado farm, but now it's just some guys house with a lot of land. And not his only house.

IT'S not the house, but the acreage THAT'S KILLING the inability to maintain the property FINANCIALLY!!!!!!! Who NEEDS 63 acres????!!!!!

Gee. Perhaps Tom should get a reverse mortgage so he can remain in his home. He says he believes in it. And he was paid over a million to do the commercials. Kinda ironic.

I watched the interview when it first aired. Selleck has a home he had to know with sky high maintenance. He sounds entitled to me when other elderly actors truly are scraping by.

Is this the avocado ranch? If so, good riddance. It was a water guzzler during the drought.

Ellen Degeneres was trucking water from a larger truck than Tom used but she wasn’t in trouble. That’s not fair! She was stealing water too! 😡
