  • Our rookie trip to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas in October of 2023. You can see how big this park really is. It is open to the public but you have to pay an entry fee. For the most part, unless you know where to go and what to do, you have about the same chance to find a diamond sitting on top of the ground as you do digging, sifting and sluicing. The best plan would be to research when they are re-plowing and try to plan your trip accordingly for a few days stay. But if you are a rock hound like me, you will find plenty of cool rocks to grab up, even if they are not diamonds. Enjoy this adventure with us!

I would suggest watching a few vids on those site and buy your own equipment to bring, and a fold up wagon. Then plan a few days that you can go there. Might be more fruitful. But there are a ton of other cool rocks to find too, that may keep the kids entertained. If you go, the mexican restaurant in town had really good food!
